Hi. I'm Via. I graduated with a non-traditional pre-med degree. As such, I didn't have any background in the hard sciences when I took the NMAT.
According to P. Frost of Columbia University, hard science and soft science are terms used to compare scientific fields on the basis of perceived methodological rigor, exactitude, and objectivity. In this case, the natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, geoscience) are considered "hard", whereas the social sciences (e.g., archaeology, cultural anthropology, psychology, sociology, economics) are usually described as "soft". (Cinopy-paste ko lang 'yan sa Wikipedia. LOL)

Studied Bio first a few weeks ago just to try it (might take the NMAT in a year or two because of job contract rn) and I was excited to learn the basics and was genuinely interested. Then I came upon the Maths part duuuudeee. Alam mo yung you have SO MUCH drive and want to be a doctor so bad kahit na coming from a BA course na almost zero hardcore Sciences and Maths (I did PolSci)....when I came upon that section na kahit sa sequencing pa lang, it was so frustrating and defeating kase I was so slow and uncoordinated. But this REALLY gives me some hope! Very, VERY informative and helpful thankksss lol. Go SocSci majors!

I have a BS degree but not really a premed course. I was really not sure if I could still fit in to med school given that my expertise were more focused toward the other side of the spectrum with regards to the sciences as compared to med, but after watching this I got a little bit of hope that maybe I could do this. I reviewed for about 2 months on the weekends, and whenever I could on week days and I actually got a good score on the NMAT exam. Watching this video gave me quite a bit of courage to try and take the test even though I was pretty scared. Thanks a lot!! I enjoyed the video! Hope you're doing good in med school, I hope i do too😁

2nd year na ako pero parang same with her i need to start from basics , kasi omgggg i feel like wala akong alam 🙃and for my experiences in taking entrance exams gurl wala akong naipasa cause i thought it was easy 😑easy nmn sya for students na ready and prepared and my background knowledge about sa content ng exam . A yt people help me, I want to be a MedTech someday and I just fantasize being in a lab coat and it makes me feel like I belong there. But o m g STEM in my school is so intimidating, my test scores sa Science and Maths laging 25-30/50 and mind you im not even a shs pa, di ko alam kung paano ako makakasurvive sa calculus and chemistry..
Im still deciding whether to push my love for Science and make it a work, or just be a business personnel..I dont have a plan yet, but the more na iniisip ko sya mas lalo syang nagiging complicated...Advice pls 😭

@@yishai720 Yey! Just continue to do what you love. Mahirap talaga ang mga subjects sa med tech pero kakayanin yan! Para sa pangarap. And di natin alam pagkatapos mo dyan eh gusto mo na maging doktor :). Fighting and always ask God's guidance. Di ka nagiisa sa laban. Always remember that :)
