    Nah I get the criticism but honestly lw isn't about carrying the team with kills and distractions, it's literally about puppeting your team to play better. If you see highground that would be better for a cass, you petal them up, if you want a rein to shatter the team but can't seem to do it? Pull him to an off angle and do it. A teammate is over-extending? Pull him back. It's like being a dad taking care of your 4 kids lmao.

    I unironically love lifeweaver 💓 a main support with crazy utility and survivability. Games where you constantly save your tank, heal the whole team, kill divers and counter ultimates is peak gameplay. But yeah, compared to most every other support, a good player can get more value on another hero. Wouldn’t recommend it in gm.
    Obviously you know way more about the game than me and are way better, but it’s kinda crazy to me to be complaining about damage output when playing a passive reactive support hero like mercy. I get you don’t like that design philosophy but there is a place in the game for characters like that. Not in the highest ranks, but there still is.

      It’s sad this comment has so many upvotes. If you play lifeweaver past diamond (literally who would ever do that lmfao) you’ll find out very quickly that you need about three petal platforms per fight to not get dove in the time it takes to make one. A diamond Winston knows how to either force this cooldown or wait it out. At this point in time there was no cooldown management on lifeweaver, every pro player who was maining him to reach GM was hardstuck plat and diamond. Bogur only broke through to GM after the damage buffs. You have to be a metal rank player to either make this comment, or agree with it.

    Most players can't interpret a scoreboard intelligently. They see high heal totals on a support like LW, and think they are doing well. They don't realize the high heal totals are because 1 less player doing damage on your team allows the enemy to have a comparatively higher damage output, boosting your team's healing stats. It's meaningless healing that just prolongs an inevitable defeat the majority of the time.

      @@Bioboy590 In that specific 2v1 scenario, yes, I'd agree a Bap or Illari would give a slight edge, but the big picture isn't so black and white. Lifeweaver is balanced around low damage pressure and high heals and utility. His utility is arguably the strongest of the support category when used properly; Samito just completed an UR2GM on him and agrees he's actually broken, and you're essentially a puppetmaster for the entire battlefield. No other support can deny the enemy's ults as consistently as LW is able to. High DPS supports are valuable in their own right, but when the enemy makes a smart coordinated play with ults, even with consistent damage usually that's where things get really rocky. LW is best equipped of all the supports to stabilize these sorts of scenarios, even with a "heal"/"utility"-focused kit.

    As a lifeweaver main, your performance was poor. And some people who say lifeweaver is trash has never properly played him or seen a really good lifeweaver. If he were to have a lot more damage potential, people would just complain he’s a DPS character like most support heroes. He is amazing with the right team comp of course, especially on escort mode on defense I find him most useful. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t have potential or is automatically a throw pick because the purpose of his kit is to save people and cancel ults. Heal botting is not a bad thing for him. If he were to have faster healing done his team combined with more damage output, he would be unkillable, especially how his ult can already sustain a team fight. And even now people are saying he’s a slippery hero. He would be definitely a lot more broken if he were to do a lot more damage like any other over tuned support.

I agree, you can’t carry with him nearly as often as some of the other supports, but if you use his platform right, he’s much more fun and extremely powerful with his skill expression. I wouldn't say well, that would be ana kiriko brig etc. They enable the divers which is better in the long run. What lw provides to dive is a far cry from what an anti nade alone provides for example. Just because you can pull people out from a fight doesn't mean you are helping especially for dive. There's nothing I hate more than when a lw pulls me because my health is low when I'm perfectly fine as tracer. Then because I got pulled, I lost all the pressure I made just because of someone who thinks they're helping.

    Trying to carry with heals is like asking your team to carry and trusting and hoping that they are better at the game then you. The sad truth is your whole team could never die and still lose if you don't have damage. Nothing gets done if you don't make opportunities.

  • @NathanGould-df5ts
    @NathanGould-df5ts Год назад +1

    it seems like you kinda learned how to carry as lw towards the end. his power comes from tons of heals sure, but think of yourself as a master hand in the game.
    You always talk about damage, but what happens when you CANT do damage similar to mercy? You enable somebody else to do damage, how do you do that with lifeweaver? You can directly put your teamates ANYWHERE regardless of their abilities. Put your soldier on a crazy flank when the fight starts, put your ulting cassidy in the skybox, have a tank who locks roadhog or rein on a high ground focused map? FORCE your reinhardt to dive by putting them in a location the enemy doesnt think they can reach. A rein jumping on you out of nowhere is scarier than a winston.
    Another form of crazy carrying power he has is the ability to shut down almost any ult in the game creatively. You can platform an ulting orisa away, put a petal under shattered teamates. Save anyone from any dive, tree off a matrix sightline or high noon. Pull your tank out of a solo blizzard.
    Lifeweaver can do all of this while also having INSANE staying alive protentional himself. He has really high carry potential, most people are just playing him wrong as a healbot when he offers much more than just that.

I have been cursed with good game sense but shitty teammates so I'm always looking to better reposition my team. If I see we're gonna lose the fight I'll pull the tank out to hold the corner further back, rather stay in the fight and lose some ground rather than lose the entire fight and they get to push the cart much further or they capture the zone and then it takes us 30 seconds to get back
