Though I usually prefer skinny characters (being a skinny guy myself), a beefy/fat necromancer to emulate Warhammer's Nurgle sorcerers would also be cool! Papa Nurgle comes give a big, bloated, pestilent hug! Skinny druids, fat necros, wiry barbarians would be cool.

The changes are definitely going in the right direction, yes.
But I do think it's a bit funny how much they pat themselves in the back for stuff that should've been there since launch, or for implementing word-for-word what some streamer came up with.
That stuff about implementing, that can imply that they lack trust in their own ability. When they are desperate for public approval of their product, the last resort is to cater to every whim from the consumers that they possibly can. Instead of innovation, it just becomes a product without its own identity, even more so than before.

@@IdiawesKara You know how players are, they always hope for the best before the game is released. I know that meme is old already, but they are taking their time just to bring in stuff that should've been there at launch. Plus, the fact that the next expansion got a big teaser reveal around a year before launch, is really saying a lot. They're desperate for good PR, to try and create hype.
It's just a shame that creating hype with a new expansion reveal around a year before its release, won't make people think the current game will be good any time soon.

I gotta say, this was *really* weak for a big keynote showcase. They don't talk about anything new until 8:30 into the video, literally 2/3 of their entire presentation on stage was recapping shit that came out a month ago, and all we got for the future was a weekly challenge dungeon, leaderboards, and a nothingburger teaser trailer for the expansion, this could have been a blog post.
There's another presentation on Saturday, I think they mentioned they would go into more details. This was just a reveal.

@@jirikolar8601 Literally the first 8 and a half minutes of this presentation was recapping launch and season 2 changes my guy, they don't start talking about upcoming things until the timestamp I posted in the OP when the mention Malignant Rings coming next week. Like my guy it's okay to admit this presentation was weak as fuck, it was. We got next to no new information, we already knew annual expansions were coming, all we know now is the first one will be in late 2024 and its class is something completely new, but that's all meta info, nothing concrete.
A seasonal event and an end of season challenge is not major content news, like I said, this could have been a blog post, and for a main-stage opening ceremony presentation was way too light
what i do not get is why we are hyped about features that have been in the genre for years and are now being suddenly treated like achievements, even when some of the features presented have actually been already implemented in the previous diablo games lmao
Probably because people already accepted the failure, so any improvement is positive improvement to them despite the "what should have been" mentality. In the end its up to us to either play it or dont. But thats really any title from Blizzard these days.
But D4, despite how much they fix, wont be for most people unless they really do an overhaul on some systems. Well see tomorrow at the Q&A whats in the cooking pot.

@@JerBuster77 They have less than a third of sales of what they made with Diablo III, which also got the Auction House running for 2 whole years, and they spent 10 years with one reboot into making this crap, which is now running 4 full teams trying to deliver content... So on one hand they are banking way less money, and on the other, this game is way more expensive to operate than DIII was, and if you look at Twitch/RUclips D IV is mostly a dead game. So, as happened with Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm or Stracraft II, cuts and layoffs are coming, since they won't support unsuccesfull products. And I say "products" since Diablo IV is not even a game.
Their announcement did nothing to hype me for the future of D4. They just talked about everything they already implemented or that we knew about (Leader boards). No real expansion reveal other than a name and a trailer that showed nothing and no reveal of the next class. Sad effort and a waste of an opportunity by Rod's team. But at this point, I don't expect anything more from them...

So im not sure if anyone else has ran into this but on console when a wireless controller disconnects or you change batteries, it wont work again when you reconnect. I have to restart the game every single time. Its even worse when you’re playing hardcore. If your controller disconnects in hardcore you’re screwed. You have to close and re open the game. I hope they address this as soon as possible. Its been an issue since launch.
i mean the "spirit born" leak isn't necessarily right, since the leakers claimed the expansion would be named something else entirely
They are keep going to say "dark story" "darker place" and "dark" this and that about Diablo IV.... I dunno if it's cause I'm not 16 anymore, but I don't really feel the darkness in a game where you can just faceroll monsters and the worst thing that can happen to you is a DC. :D
What I would like to see are skills for different classes appear on armors/weapons that trigger on hit or effect.

Why announce an expansion that's a year out unless Season 2 didn't trick people into coming back? Also I know Blizzcon is a shillfest but people clapping for them fixing bugs was cringe.
One thing that caught my eyes was the gems they used in the panel when talking about them becoming materials.
The 7 that were there, were the ones someone leaked forever ago saying "those are the new tiers of gems". Maybe they were just using them as placeholders, but one thing is for sure, the gems in that screen are not in the game.

I do not see why they brag about making it 40% faster to reach to lvl 100 when there is nothing to do afterwards. They are pretty much ending your game 40% quicker.
Some things are improving, but the basics of the game are still fundamentally wrong.
Raxx, mate. They'll listen to you. Can you please do us a solid and advocate that the new QoL rings are made as unique gems instead? It's already a very limited choice for aspect slots. I don't want to be faced with a QoL Vs Content decision.

They cashed in on that launch, and still haven't released the finished game, figuratively speaking. So if the expansion is supposed to represent a ready-to-launch game, or since it's Blizzard it might still not have basic features that should be there at launch, then the OP makes a lot more sense, right? Rax your opinion abt a triple A boxprice for an expansion for a game we spend 70-110 euros for?
I never really got the whole push for leader boards, but many players seem to desperately want them seemingly more than any other feature. The thing I don't get is well over 99.9% of players will not make the leader boards, the average player won't be anywhere close. So why do so many want them so bad? Do they think they will have a chance at making it on the board? Or is there some other reason people want them that I'm just not getting?
You can see what builds are used andgear set ups for each class, if it's like the d3 one.
The psychology behind it is simple. It's primal. Many people enjoy the feeling of competition. There are billions of people that enjoy playing sports. There are billions of people that enjoy watching sports (not necessarily international sports tournaments, but the group of people that enjoys watching sports also includes those that only tends to watch tournaments in their own countries).
But an overwhelming majority of that group that both plays and watches sports, don't become professionals.
Competition is simply primal. By identifying with the people competing, the audience projects themselves onto the people competing. So it becomes "we won/lost" instead of "they won/lost" when they talk about teams that they cheered for.
Because they enjoy competing, even though they can't participate in the tournaments themselves.

Played for 300 hours pre season 1 highest character I got was 93. Played 50 hours in season 2 I have a 100 and a 50 in HC I’d say it’s way faster then 40% xp gains 6:44
I think they compare to S1, I had all glyphs lvl 21 way before hitting lvl100 preseason, 1 lvl21 glyph S1, and only lvl 15 glyphs on this S2

hoping they would look into loot drops. either less loot but quality rolls or a loot drop filter if its going to drop a ton. currently i just put everything in the stash, filter the affix then pull back to bag for selling/break.
I am extremely frustrated to make a new character or play the game at all at the moment just because of this. Every time i see mu stash/inventory full i just exit the game cone back next day and clean all the shit game throw at me so i can play again till my inventory fills with shit again.
Yeah, my main 2 hopes for D4 announcement year ago were 1) slow meaningful combat 2) loot not raining from the sky, legendaries rare and exciting. Guess what? we already on same point as D3 - screen packed with dozens of mobs and rain of drops I don't care .

I'd hate to be pestering, but some kind of updates on pets would be nice. Last I remember hearing was Season 2, and that obviously didn't happen. I still love the game and will still play even if they take longer to add them, though. It's not a deal breaker, I just want an update haha.
this spirit class seems like it will be a mix between Druid and Necro.
I wish i could get a Unique Staff or wand that changes the Hydra attack to either shoot fireballs based on your fireball skill, or Incinerate based on that skill. That would be a dope Unique. That, or maybe they just lob mini meteors everywhere lol.

It's so hard to believe anything they say about "being for the community," knowing they are so money driven.
"your excitement drives us" does feel a bit forced. I don't envy their position though, as I imagine it's not the game designers, but the corporate executives that get to decide when to ship the game - ready or not. It's a sad departure from old Blizzard's "it's done when it's done" philosophy.

60% of diablo immortal players not having ever played a diablo game before can sound like an awesome statistic of how many people they've drawn into the Diablo franchise. But also on the same end, it could serve just as well as a statistic to show how much the already existing diablo fans hated the crap out of it if they weren't even a majority of your players on your "fullfledged diablo experience" :') Also a bit weird they used up so much of their time announcing stuff that we already knew about because it was in the literal patch notes and live game like half a week before blizzcon and the panel was already not really the longest. But all in all, I was not expecting the malignant rings, I was not expecting a mid league event let alone two of them, I was not expecting the expansion would be end of 2024 either which I think is a good idea all things considered. So big picture it was a good day for diablo to be fair, I'm not going to take that away from them.
I do wish we got a little more actual news though volume wise. Like cmon I wanna know what a gauntlet looks like for one. Is it gonna be a bit like Last Epoch arenas maybe where you fight waves of monsters but maybe they infinitely scale in level and you get ranked on the lowest time to the highest wave? I'd kind like that honestly that'd be a pretty wild way to farm ranks. We've got a 2 hour+ campfire chat comming apparently though so unless there's a hidden panel taken away 60 minutes of that, I hope we get some more substance to our food there so it can last us until December.

basically, still not a single end game mode like battlegrounds or anything if u dont feel like leveling right away after reaching 100. As for the stuff currently in the game… i played barb solo and i got them ALL at level 93 , including the ubers i needed. Now i dont want to level new class and i have nothing to do. Can we just recognize the fact they are literally time gating the seasonal content 1 patch each month to maintain their MAU stats for shareholders? This is really stupid. I have no plans to pick this season back up after maxing out the first month. Why can't they just give us the content we paid for up front and let us play at our own pace? Why do people keep giving this greedy company your money? Also why would they introduce this stupid spiritborn class when everyone loves paladin/crusader so much?

Mid Season Events are the right approach to get people into the game again. But that's probably why they decided to go with weekly leaderboards.

I'm excited for the Abbatoir of Zir, and the challenge rifts sound fun, leaderboards will give the game more longevity I think. I still gag a little every time I hear "make a character that looks like you!" I'm not fat and hairy, I'm not a big musclebound hulk, I'm not a 120 lb meth addict, and I don't prance about wearing dresses. Hopefully the new class doesn't look horrible like most of them we have now

I'm bit chubby myself (way smaller than Diablo druid thou), I don't want my character to look like me, definitely don't want my character to look like Chungus, there is a reason why superheroes (at least in the past) looked like peak man/woman

Honestly when listening I am not even considering the expansion as news because before I touch an expansion this game needs to become what we were lead to believe it was. No more money going to be thrown at blizzard until they make good on that.

Itemization IMO is still terrible in the game and I am not sure how they fix it at this point since they went all in on legendary powers. While I am probably overly pessimistic I would still agree that I think they are headed in the right direction on most of the changes and additions but almost all of these are fixes and additions that should have been in the game at launch. @@robertstan298

Here's my thing I built all my characters myself no copying people's build and my Thorn build I haven't yet got a Razorplate chest piece not only is that build a lvl 93 but all my other characters I built hasn't received a Razorplate chest piece What am I doing wrong I fight boss's I go to events and countless dungeons I don't know what I'm doing wrong and that's my most powerful character I have wtf.
like in D3 when you play this or this set (most powerfull in the season) you drop EVERY set exept the set you play. I past all the s1 with frost mage without find the glove (with frost proc idk the name) and now i play lightning and i found what ? the glove for frost ^^
