- Tomato rice made in a pressure cooker as an one pot meal saves time and less washing up too !
This is an excellent recipe for lunch or Dinner and can also be carried in your lunchbox.
Ingredients
Raw rice 1 cup
Tomatoes 3
Onions 2
Green chillies 2
Ginger a small piece
Oil 2tbsp
Peanuts 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
kashmiri chilli powder 1 tsp
Bay leaf 1
cinnamon a small piece
cloves 3-4
cardamom 2
Curry leaves a few
Mint leaves 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves a few

Hello gitaji...just wanted to share... I hv been using kodo millet or Barnyard millet, atleast one meal, nicely washed n soaked min 30min. N make same way. Just tht you need to add 4 tumblers liquid tomato n water together for barnyard millet N little less for kodo millet. N it's a wholesome meal with added veg like pulav it's VV ery tasty Just try it gitaji. It's really good with raita onion n kellogs mixed for crunchy feel. But yes. Groundnuts give a very good crunch in masala bath n saunf enhances flavour.
I add my own flavour ..but thx for suggestions. It has been put into use with all variations. Thank you.
