These old hills call For the blood of my body; A pound of flesh for a ton of coal. So down I go Into a dark hill waiting Where lungs turn black And hearts grow cold. And I'll take to the hills, Run from the devil, Into the dying sun. Something wicked my way comes. Tread soft my friend, Into these shadows, Where the old ones roam. For in these hills we die alone.
Just wanted to say this is by far my favorite lyric version. Really a throw back to the poetic vibes of the first season in relation to the coal country soul of the show and region. I have to come back here and listen every couple of months because it hits so hard in the feels. Love it.
I love him! His music calls to something in me and I love it! My Great-great Granny was a Midwife/Wise Woman in Appalachia, a little wide-spot in the road called Tyner, Kentucky. I can't tell you how much I love this podcast and everyone in it! I was a Patreon but lost my job. As soon as I get straightened out I'll be back, Family.
It's odd how much I can relate to our beloved hillfolk in OGoA. As far as I know, I have little to no family from Appalachia, but I do come from a line of Welsh coal miners before they immigrated, so beaten down coal folk aren't far off no matter where they're from
Cant wait for the album if it ever happens
These old hills call
For the blood of my body;
A pound of flesh for a ton of coal.
So down I go
Into a dark hill waiting
Where lungs turn black
And hearts grow cold.
And I'll take to the hills,
Run from the devil,
Into the dying sun.
Something wicked my way comes.
Tread soft my friend,
Into these shadows,
Where the old ones roam.
For in these hills we die alone.
Is it 'dark hill?' It sounds like 'dark hell.'
Sounds like dark hell to me

As always, love this style! An album like this would be a game-changer.
Landon Blood has his own channel now
Every season the theme song gets better and better. I can’t wait to hear Season 4’s.

I can’t tell you how much I love that🐝🤗❤️
Nothing but good things come out of this Podcast
Probably my favorite of the verses so far. Well done family.
Beautiful, haunting, full of mountains! Perfect for OGoA! Thanks for posting this, cousin!
I used to think his name was Land & Blood not Landon Blood
Thank you! And I also would love an album of these…or something like, where we could add on the verses, as they come out.
Awesome as ever! I hope we'll get an album of these, would be absolutely thrilled!

I love this… Lord, I hope you make an album, between this one and the other I’m halfway in love
is this ever gonna be put into a full song???
If and when it is, it will be on our Bandcamp, so follow us there for those updates.
@@OldGodsofAppalachia awesome thanks so very much ! AMAZING Job, AMAZING Story, I don't have words.
I hope they stitch all verses together, if it’s already done and I don’t know about it can someone tell me?
Any chance we can stitch all 3 verses together into a full song?
There are full length versions of some seasons’ theme songs on our bandcamp.
