My kids did turn it on, then without my prompting they turned it off not even 10 minutes in. My 12 and 10 year old saw right through the movie and knew it was bad for them to watch. Thank you God
My mom warned me about the rise of the occult when I was young. She shielded us from Disney movies and was very careful what we watched. People thought it was “over reacting” but now I’m so grateful. It’s just sad that I have to be even more strict and hyper vigilant now 🥺
We were the same way with our children, too. We didn't have secular music in our home, no Disney, no Halloween, etc. We also took them out of public school and homeschooled them. I'm so thankful we did all of these things even though some of our family though we were nuts!

My daughters have both drifted away from the church. My youngest is engaged to a young man whose mom is Wiccan. Trying to tell my daughter that there are no good witches only causes her to turn her back on me. I pray constantly for both my girls 🙏

Christianity in the US is commercialized. It's a business. The US Christianity has nothing to do with the actual teaching of Jesus Christ. Have you read Mary's gospel? How about Sarah's? How about Andrew's? Andrew is the one that writes that Mary of Magna was the head apostle, Jesus named her head of the church? Mary was the one they took to Gaul, to safety. Sarah went with her. It is amazing how many “Christians,” who are also regular church attenders as well, talk about these witchcraft tv shows, movies, and books in the church hallways and gathering areas between Bible studies and worship services! They must not be reading their Bibles on their own or they would know these things! And the churches will not teach what the Bible says about it either! I grew up in church and one of the many gifts that offered me is that I have been able to see what was regularly talked about and taught then is no longer talked about in church …. Jesus’ second return, Heaven, Hell, eternal life after death, the serpent in the garden of Eden and the fall of man, anything in the book of Revelations, words of Jesus shared about end times, the book of Leviticus where God told His people what He wanted them to do and How he wanted to do those things (which gives us a lot of wisdom for how we can live in blessings today), the list of things that God hates, and sorcery is definitely on this list … then there’s the story of King Saul going to visit a witch to call up the spirit of the dead prophet Nathan (which scared her and ended really BAD for the king!) …I can go on & on, the miracles Jesus did to heal people and how he said we would be able do those things and even greater than he did … these things and much more are never spoken of in church yet they are all in the Bible and much more too! Church teaching has pretty much been watered down to the “self help” guide of “how to” be a better person in your walk with the Lord. But how about the POWER and the GLORY of The Lord?! Isn’t this what people are looking for when they come to church? They are coming to those who should be living in their quest for THE God Almighty to know HOW they can infuse the POWER of The Lord into their lives! This has cut off the POWER of The Lord being shared to the people. That hurts those who come into The house of the Lord seeking the GLORY of God! Jesus said my Father’s House will be a House of PRAYER but Wednesday night Prayer Meetings have been taken out too!! Now there are fractioned “small groups” meetings in people’s homes that have replaced congregants from gathering in the church IN PRAYER. No more sharing amongst church members of who NEEDS PRAYER … those in the hospital, those who are sick, those who have lost a loved one, those who have had a new baby, those who are just IN NEED OF PRAYER. No, the “small group” of just very few people will handle it and that’s as far as it goes, so you can go to church on Sunday morning and only know a handful of people there but no more. Then those who do know each other, especially if they have children involved are talking in the hallways between services about the latest witchery movie, tv shows, or books, laughing and having a good time about it. It is shocking to me but I cannot say anything because I will be told I have no authority to say so. That is only up to the pastor and only him. So this is what church of today has turned into and it silences the POWER and GLORY of the Lord. He will not allow this to continue for long! Churches must repent too (OOPS that’s another thing that is not said anymore either!) and seek the Lord’s Will over the leadership’s own, just as we are ALL called to follow The Lord’s Will over our own will in our own personal walks with the Lord. I'm always shocked when I go to Barnes and Noble and there are so many occult books displayed on the shelves. Also, so many books with bad words in the titles. I didn't see this when I was younger. The culture has really gone downhill fast!

My family history includes high level witchcraft from long before this process of cultural acceptance. The real price is the minds and lives of those who come after. So called benefits of witchcraft and sorcery are absolutely not free. What a practicing witch gains in the present is paid for in the next generation, in the forms of suicide, madness, extreme poverty, and confusion. I am always ready to explain this. My family has been Christian for many generations, and we have all the same issues as you listed. I left Christianity and converted to polytheism and witchcraft, and my life has only gotten better. So in my experience it's the exact opposite. Christianity is a curse, and paganism is the cure.

Thanks for this reinforcement of my reaction to Hocus Pocus. I watched some horror movies as a teen, and the Holy Spirit told me it was wrong. I was with older kids and I couldn't leave, but when I got home I couldn't quit thinking about the evilness of it. I remember praying to God to take it out of my head. I have been so incredibly blessed by God almighty. When my wife was pregnant we prayed and gave both of our boys to Jesus before they were born. We were not religious at all but went to a luke warm church, both of us were saved. Our boys were never forbidden to not watch anything on TV movies or video games, always had guns in the house. Strange thing is they hated Harry Potter just instinctively hated it. This is just one example but long story short - I was not the best role model, their mother and I divorced I went on drinking binges brought home crazy women I never did drugs even marijuana but drink I did guess that was what the only thing Marine Corps taught me lol . The only thing that was forbidden was marijuana and drugs in my house. I found out my oldest was smoking weed when he was 17 I beat the brakes off of him in our garage even broke my finger and he thanks me to this day doing that. There is no reason my boys aren't drug heads, thieves, tattooed up and in jail. They went to one of the toughest schools in town. They were incredible fist fighters, both played football my youngest played college football. Both are professional Firefighter Paramedics now. It is the holy spirit and Jesus in them that saved them, kept them above water. I am so incredibly proud. It was not my influence it is all thanks to Jesus Christ and God almighty there is no other explanation.

Great analogy on how children run to their parents and hide under the covers!! But yet they still say that's part of my childhood. I love the analogy because that's a great reminder for me for my daughter who is a young adukt now with 2 children. It's true what you say about New Age practices coming into business and the workplace. I was drawn into it first when I was part of a MLM business and recently had to leave a Virtual Assistant agency and give up the client whom I'd worked for for 4 years when a new CEO joined the agency and it became a requirement that all VAs participate in New Age self development training. In a lot of large companies it has become common practice that employees are to attend self development training events which include New Age practices.

I feel you are not very educated on these practices if you believe they involve playing with darkness. I did not see the movie, but 'witchcraft' itself is just a set of beliefs and practices people use to relate to the world.
Why do Christians have to be forewarned about such a movie? Why do they want to watch a movie about "magic," when the Bible warns us against attempting to have super-human powers?
Don't watch it. We need to not let our minds go to darkness. God is light and goodness. We all know in our hearts to stay away . People may laugh at us. As a child of God it's wrong. I watched out of curiosity because I knew it was probably going to involve modern concepts. Not surprised but VERY surprised they made the witches appear as good. I’ve always been confused about holy water. We aren’t to take objects and use them as a way to protect and heal but Catholic/Christians accept holy water and prayer beads as just that. Our church has at trunk or treat event every year with bounce houses for children it spends more on Halloween 🎃 than any other holiday. As a mom, I just have to warn young kids to steer clear of everything that smacks of the occult, not just because God said don't do this ( which he said because He cares about what happens to you), but also because it doesn't make any sense to warn kids of stranger danger, and then tell them that it's okay to seek out spiritual forces that they can't even see. Can you trust it? How would you even know if you were being deceived? It just seems the best thing to do is stay as far away from occult stuff as you would the people your parents warned you away from. Use common sense and that will protect you from mistakes that aren't so easy to fix. Having said that, if you have gotten involved in the occult, and you feel the results were really bad, you are not abandoned by God. You can ask for help from a pastor or priest. At this point I would recommend contacting a Catholic church for help, where there are trained priests who will help you. And don't give up-- if you run into someone who doesn't want to help, just keep searching for another priest who will. Put your trust in Jesus, because He alone has the power to rescue you and protect you. And remember, this mom is praying for you, always.

Jesus’ second return, Heaven, Hell, eternal life after death, the serpent in the garden of Eden and the fall of man, anything in the book of Revelations, words of Jesus shared about end times, the book of Leviticus where God told His people what He wanted them to do and How he wanted to do those things (which gives us a lot of wisdom for how we can live in blessings today), the list of things that God hates, and sorcery is definitely on this list … then there’s the story of King Saul going to visit a witch to call up the spirit of the dead prophet Nathan (which scared her and ended really BAD for the king!) …I can go on & on, the miracles Jesus did to heal people and how he said we would be able do those things and even greater than he did … these things and much more are never spoken of in church yet they are all in the Bible and much more too!
Church teaching has pretty much been watered down to the “self help” guide of “how to” be a better person in your walk with the Lord.
But how about the POWER and the GLORY of The Lord?! Isn’t this what people are looking for when they come to church? They are coming to those who should be living in their quest for THE God Almighty to know HOW they can infuse the POWER of The Lord into their lives!
This has cut off the POWER of The Lord being shared to the people. That hurts those who come into The house of the Lord seeking the GLORY of God! Jesus said my Father’s House will be a House of PRAYER but Wednesday night Prayer Meetings have been taken out too!! Now there are fractioned “small groups” meetings in people’s homes that have replaced congregants from gathering in the church IN PRAYER. No more sharing amongst church members of who NEEDS PRAYER … those in the hospital, those who are sick, those who have lost a loved one, those who have had a new baby, those who are just IN NEED OF PRAYER. No, the “small group” of just very few people will handle it and that’s as far as it goes, so you can go to church on Sunday morning and only know a handful of people there but no more. Then those who do know each other, especially if they have children involved are talking in the hallways between services about the latest witchery movie, tv shows, or books, laughing and having a good time about it. It is shocking to me but I cannot say anything because I will be told I have no authority to say so. That is only up to the pastor and only him. So this is what church of today has turned into and it silences the POWER and GLORY of the Lord. He will not allow this to continue for long! Churches must repent too (OOPS that’s another thing that is not said anymore either!) and seek the Lord’s Will over the leadership’s own, just as we are ALL called to follow The Lord’s Will over our own will in our own personal walks with the Lord.

My family history includes high level witchcraft from long before this process of cultural acceptance. My great (many times great) grandparents were heavily involved from the mid 19th century to the 1920s .With the encouragement of the Holy Spirit of God I tell anyone and everyone that the consequences in terms of mental illness and torment and suffering, in the lives of descendants have been horrific. I know, from the teaching of the Holy Spirit and my own experiences, that those who are practicing witchcraft in the present, for a bit of gain in the forms of money and power, have sold their immediate descendants (their own children and grandchildren) into lives of torment and loss and confusion, and even into suicides. The real price is the minds and lives of those who come after. So called benefits of witchcraft and sorcery are absolutely not free.
What a practicing witch gains in the present is paid for in the next generation, in the forms of suicide, madness, extreme poverty, and confusion. I am always ready to explain this.

My father and his brother paid the real price, in the forms of mental torment and mental illness, and the loss of children to addictions and suicides.
I can say without any doubt that the stars and producers of this witchcraft film are deeply involved in the ritualized sexual abuse of children. The absolute ruination of childrens' lives is the force behind this film.

My family has been Christian for many generations, and we have all the same issues as you listed. I left Christianity and converted to polytheism and witchcraft, and my life has only gotten better. So in my experience it's the exact opposite. Christianity is a curse, and paganism is the cure.

Thanks for this reinforcement of my reaction to Hocus Pocus. I watched some horror movies as a teen, and the Holy Spirit told me it was wrong. I was with older kids and I couldn't leave, but when I got home I couldn't quit thinking about the evilness of it. I remember praying to God to take it out of my head. I am so tired of hearing about how the church is to blame for the world not coming to Christ. We can't twist these people's arms. We can be kind, show them love, tell them about Jesus and what he did for them on the cross, but ultimately, it's their choice. Stop blaming Christians for other people's bad choices.

I have been so incredibly blessed by God almighty. When my wife was pregnant we prayed and gave both of our boys to Jesus before they were born. We were not religious at all but went to a luke warm church, both of us were saved. Our boys were never forbidden to not watch anything on TV movies or video games, always had guns in the house.
Strange thing is they hated Harry Potter just instinctively hated it. This is just one example but long story short - I was not the best role model, their mother and I divorced I went on drinking binges brought home crazy women I never did drugs even marijuana but drink I did guess that was what the only thing Marine Corps taught me lol . The only thing that was forbidden was marijuana and drugs in my house. I found out my oldest was smoking weed when he was 17 I beat the brakes off of him in our garage even broke my finger and he thanks me to this day doing that.
There is no reason my boys aren't drug heads, thieves, tattooed up and in jail. They went to one of the toughest schools in town. They were incredible fist fighters, both played football my youngest played college football.
Both are professional Firefighter Paramedics now. It is the holy spirit and Jesus in them that saved them, kept them above water. I am so incredibly proud. It was not my influence it is all thanks to Jesus Christ and God almighty there is no other explanation.

My daughter went to my in-laws and came back last night.. she was innocently telling my husband and I that they had watched that with the cousins and then decided to make a spell book. I got upset and I prayed against it and also told her how it’s not ok as Christians to play with. She understood, she was upset because she didn’t know and I told her it was my fault I didn’t teach you but she is 10 and we’ve never had to deal with that yet, and my in-laws aren’t believers. They’re good people, and wonderful to my children but I would like to address it correctly to them

I did love the original and to be honest, I was excited about the 2nd one, but I did feel some type of way while watching it, like the Holy Spirit wasn't pleased. There was a part in the movie where young Winnie said she used the Lord's name in vain twice and laughed. I definitely didn't think that was funny. Truth be told I should've turned it off there, but I was curious to see what would happen.

It's true what you say about New Age practices coming into business and the workplace. I was drawn into it first when I was part of a MLM business and recently had to leave a Virtual Assistant agency and give up the client whom I'd worked for for 4 years when a new CEO joined the agency and it became a requirement that all VAs participate in New Age self development training. In a lot of large companies it has become common practice that employees are to attend self development training events which include New Age practices.
What practices are you referring to, other than meditation, which you could use as prayer time? I get the whole workplace issue, but I don’t think we can affect change simply by leaving.

I’ve always been confused about holy water. We aren’t to take objects and use them as a way to protect and heal but Catholic/Christians accept holy water and prayer beads as just that. I am new to Christianity and am receiving my baptism in a few weeks. I accept and proclaim Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. They are idols. Catholics pray to saints and use prayer beads. Nowhere in scripture is this acceptable. True Christianity prays directly to the father In Jesus’ name. No past saints can protect us. Jesus’s mother cannot protect us. Holy water is just water. Read the word of God and you will discover the answers to all your questions.

I find occultist items everywhere, clothing, books, kids games and even children's toys. I see it in Walmart to high end fashion and even the store Below 5.

Christians shouldn't be celebrating any Pagan holidays. This includes Halloween, Easter, Christmas, birthdays, etc. If anything, we should be more centering on the Feasts that Christ himself engaged in.
Well usually Christians have their own holiday to celebrate on Halloween, Easter, and Christmas. I can see that some Christians pride their exclusivity?
I just talked to my kids about this, and am working on part 2 if the response to an innocent attempt from my 12 year old to play around with spells that he was "making up". Our church has at trunk or treat event every year with bounce houses for children it spends more on Halloween 🎃 than any other holiday. As a mom, I just have to warn young kids to steer clear of everything that smacks of the occult, not just because God said don't do this ( which he said because He cares about what happens to you), but also because it doesn't make any sense to warn kids of stranger danger, and then tell them that it's okay to seek out spiritual forces that they can't even see. Can you trust it? How would you even know if you were being deceived? It just seems the best thing to do is stay as far away from occult stuff as you would the people your parents warned you away from. Use common sense and that will protect you from mistakes that aren't so easy to fix.
Having said that, if you have gotten involved in the occult, and you feel the results were really bad, you are not abandoned by God. You can ask for help from a pastor or priest. At this point I would recommend contacting a Catholic church for help, where there are trained priests who will help you. And don't give up-- if you run into someone who doesn't want to help, just keep searching for another priest who will. Put your trust in Jesus, because He alone has the power to rescue you and protect you. And remember, this mom is praying for you, always.

@@youarecreatedforapurpose I think there are faithful Christians who are doing their best to follow Jesus today. But there are a very large number of people who have rejected Christianity. (Though judging by the comments I've read, there appears to be people who have left Christianity (sometimes for years), and have returned to the faith with a new appreciation for it.).
The sad thing is, there a many blind witches out there. There spiritual life is up in the air.
