Thanks to everybody for watching this video and for trying to remember Nav Rules!!! More videos on safe navigation have been requested and will be produced ASAP.
Vessels engaged in towing, length of tow exceeding 200m in length shall display 3 white mast lights. I'm surprised that no one else caught this. Other than that.... good video
The international regulations have been amended several times since their first adoption. In 1981 Rule 10 was amended with regard to dredging or surveying in traffic separation schemes. In 1987 amendments were made to several rules, including rule 1(e) for vessels of special construction; rule 3(h), vessels constrained by her draught and Rule 10(c), crossing traffic lanes. In 1989 Rule 10 was altered to stop unnecessary use of the inshore traffic zones associated with TSS. In 1993 amendments were made concerning the positioning of lights on vessels. In 2001 new rules were added relating to wing-in-ground-effect (WIG) craft and in 2007 the text of Annex IV (Distress signals) was rewritten. The 2013 amendments (resolution A.1085(28)) Adoption: 4 December 2013 Entry into force: 1 January 2016 After existing part E (Exemptions), a new part F (Verification of compliance with the provisions of the Convention) is added in order for the Organization to make necessary verifications under the IMO Member State Audit Scheme.
Grazie mille Alessandro! Mi ha aiutato molto! I was looking for some way to categorize as I begin studying for my captain's license and found this really helpful!
Where was the "how to remember" part of it? I was looking for something like "Red over white, fishing tonight" (same for green, if trawling) "White over red, follow me or dead" (pilot vessel) And so on ... Or some logic way, or memo technique. Anyway, I'll keep looking ...
200m exceed = 3white light +1 mast headlight for towing vessel if morethan 50m in lenght. White over red = pilot By day= hotel flag 🇲🇹 Or Additional light for trawlers hauling their nets Additional: 🔺shape for direction of the nets Red over red sidelights of RAM = obstruction =avoid Or Fishing caught on obstruction Green over green sidelights of RAM = clear side of ther vessel with obstruction
The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (1972) are Goddamned hard enough to memorize before you and your Goddamned sharpie butcher them on an A1 paper for our amusement.
Special flashing light 50-70 times every minute is what my teacher told me to study. Your video was great. Thanks!
