HOW TO MAKE PUTO PAO with Chicken Asado Filling

  • Puto is one of the traditional Filipino "kakanin" or rice cakes. Meanwhile Puto Pao is a combination of Puto and Siopao because it has an asado Filling. Continue watching the video to know the process of making it. Let's start!
    Ingredients are:
    For the Filling
    1/4 kl shredded chicken breast
    1 medium size onion
    4 cloves garlic
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    2 tbsp oyster sauce
    2 tbsp sugar
    1 tsp pepper
    pinch of salt
    slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch dissolve in 2 tbsp water)
    for the puto
    2 cups cake flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 cup water
    for the meringue
    5 egg white
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 tsp cream of tartar
    toppings:
    cheese
    salted egg
