This video is literal gold. Thanks I am following it while doing this job myself and I just got both rear-sets off and I have to call it a day. Bought some threaded carriage bolts from home depot, PSA, dont use a threaded shit bolt to chase the rear swing arm bolt. Just get another rear swing arm bolt and use it to chase it. I am gonna get back to my Impaktech Install project next weekend after my extra swing arm bolt arrives and I bet you I'm gonna spend half an hour trying to align the swing arm to the frame X_X.
That looks fantastic man! I’m definitely looking into those rearsets now that I know they support the stock exhaust mounting location. Thank you for making this video!
New tip: Anyone who wants to have a license plate bracket work with this impaktech 12bar, you're going to have to thread the remainder of the holes in the impaktech 12bar. Dont do what I did by threading from the opposite unthreaded end, Just thread through the top with the existing thread all the way to the bottom of the bottom w/ a m6x1.0 tap. Good Luck. My MNNTHBX bracket needed to have holes drilled in it to align to the frame/impaktech holes. The Yoshimura bracket is already aligned. Not sure about TST Industries.
Anyone who's struggling with getting the spring on, remove the rearset with the brake master attached and press brake pedal down while hooking the clip back on.
So I took the plunge and order the rear set based on the video. Question, the rear brake light switch, why is it necessary to replace the stock one? Is it because it doesn’t work with the new rear-set?
Yeh, the stock one uses the spring plunger that doesn’t work with the aftermarket rearsets so you need to use an inline pressure switch. It’s a cleaner setup anyway. Let them know you saw my video too 😃
Yeah, I talked to Juan and told him that I originally saw your video. He referred me back to it for install cause he doesn’t have anything. Do you think you could shoot me the link on Amazon for the new brake light switch? BTW…. On a side note… I appreciate the videos you put out. I find them super helpful and informative. I will definitely have my iPad with your video up when I do my install. 😆 I’m not very mechanically inclined, but you make it seem pretty easy.
For sure, my wife dropped her Grom a couple of times and it was only the rearset pucks that got scratched. That said if you loop the bike, all bets are off.
I just worked on that last night 😀 I had to take off a couple of mm on each side of the Yoshimura tail tidy and had to tap m6*1.0 threads on the other side of the 12bar but the result is great! I know Impaktech is also working on a solution of their own. Check out these pics: imgur.io/a/HTcBuEu
@@eastcoastish thanks. And for the rear brake light sensor, do I need to buy a bracket for it somewhere? I found the sensor on Amazon like you said I just don’t know what I’m getting myself into 😂😂. Literally my first time working on a bike
@@ramblinjay3816I changed the connector to be bullet connectors to make it easier, you can connect it to the old wires however you want, it also doesn't matter which wire is which - they're just closing a ground connection. DM me on IG @eastcoastish if you have more questions.
@@eastcoastish hi, do you have the link for the brake pressure switch for the 22? Also what is better the long bolt thingy from harbor freight or getting one from Honda. What is that thing called? 😬

The powder coat for the Grom stuff isn’t standard, it’s only offered in raw aluminum or black anodized. They offer standard powder coat options for all their big bike stuff.

Whole set up look great together
LOVE the blue and yellow!
Great install video! I have seen pictures online of that brake pedal bolt coming out on these rearsets. I'd recommend you loctite it
Good advice!
M 10 x 1.25 pressure switch
What size bullet connectors did you use for the brake switch? Can they be purchased on Amazon?
Sick!

10:56 time. What did you screw the new pressure switch to?
Do you loose ground clearance with the impaktek rear sets?
Can you link the bullet connectors, brake light switch, and the type of grease that should be used for the install?
What is the Mrs riding now since you stunted that Grom? Aiming for a 3rd grom?! Thanks for the video!
Maybe another Grom, or maybe the Dax comes out soon, or a Navi, or a Ruckus build? So many options 🤩
@@eastcoastish i say ruckus!!

Or use a spring puller tool…
@@eastcoastish Yeah, aka my hooked retainer clip remover...
How have the rearsets and 12 bar been after a year? Just installed both, wondering if it’s enough protection for stunting
Can you give some clear advice on what hole to put the brake spring in
how are the clutch ups doin nowadays?
Hey. To make balance point lower (the front wheel lower to the ground while in balance point) do the pegs need to be adjusted higher or lower?
@eastcoastish, could you share a link for that brake pressure switch and the bullet connectors?

I'm confused still about where the brake spring and the spring goes,is like stock or do you switch them
Do you think the Impaktech Rear Sets offer any protection for the High Mount Dual Yosh Exhaust?

@@eastcoastish Good to know. I appreciate the response my mini moto brother 👊🏼
is impaktech going to update th rearset so th fitment is perfect without having to cut a hole en th triangle?
No they’re not going to modify it. It’s really easy to modify the triangle.
@@eastcoastish is dur another way to modify th triangle without cutting a whole or is dat th only option?
@@YahmahaR7 it’s the cleanest way to do it. I’m not aware of another solution.

This works with the 2024?
Yes
Does the tyga exhaust get in the way of a passengers leg?
Not at all. If you watch the end of this install video you can my wife riding it and how it clears the leg:

Do you know if the 12 bar will work with the dual high mount Yoshi exhaust?
That combo definitely will not fit.
Where did you find the long bolt to send through so you don't need to worry about the realignment of the rearend?
It was actually just an extra piece from my Harbor Freight carrier. You should be able to pickup an extra swing arm bolt from Honda for cheap though…
