I have seen people wear different thickness chains at the same length and it’s pretty chill. Can make it look extra thick without having to pay for a 9.0mm 👍 also, if you wanted to add a pendant on the 4.0mm, it’s a lot easier to find a pendant compared to a 9.0mm chain
It’s a hit or miss to be honest. Depends on what type of chain you’re getting also. Rope and Franco hollow chains are the weaker ones as the Miami Cuban link or flat curbs are stronger. But, if you’re gonna be worrying a lot about your chain, then I highly recommend solid (3.0mm and thicker) for strength and peace of mind
Gold is meant to be solid. I’d sooner go for a lighter, thinner chain if it meant it was solid instead of hollow. I’d stay in the 14-18k range, 10k is alright, but it’s preferential to be at least 14k.
I came across your videos and a random question I want to layer a 18-inch franco with a pendant that is 1.6 inches with the bale with a 22-inch franco I don't think it will overlap but I have been wrong before thoughts??

Another option is doubling up and getting another chain at same 5mm thickness at the same length of 24” for deeper impact look. As far as another type of chain to go with your Cuban link, I recommend: 1. Cuban Link again 2. Rope 3. Figaro 4. Flat curb link chain

If your new to buying gold, 10kt is only about 40% real gold. Yes its real but this means 60% of the chain is not real gold. To each their own 👍🏼. Always buy per grams and stay in the 14kt and up range👍🏼

I’ll be totally honest with you, I thought you were talking about the Flat curb cubans, not the Miami cubans 😅 Alright, now that I know style 4 Miami cubans, let me say it again 😃🙏 The 7.5mm will go well with the 4.5mm better I believe especially if you’re going with the layering with or without a pendant. I say this also because on camera, the chains look slightly thicker so when you see the 4.0mm in person, it may seem a bit too thin. I recommend either the 4.5mm or 5.5mm with the 7.5mm and these will last for many years to come 🤝

For sure! It’s a good look. I like box , Mariner and anchor gold chains that’s what I’m currently wearing. 14, 14 and 18k and 20, 22, and 24 inch

Either a 6mm x 24” or 6mm x 26” would look good with your 5mm. 8mm layered with a 5mm can be a bit much unless you got a nice pendant for the 5mm
