I've said this before. If you're buying Gary's Den looking for a DHP substitute, you'll be disappointed. However if you're in the market for a "bang for the buck" iris scent that punches above its weight, then Gary's Den is a nice value proposition, and worth seeking out.
I totally agree Justin. To my nose the Gary’s den is 90-95% in similarity to dhp. I absolutely love this pick up. I was worried about running out of the original. Now i save sprays with Gary’s den. Imo this is the best sub 40$ pickup.

Gents scents never said fomo is good 1:1 or even close, infact he turned me off from buying fomos, Chaos is the devils advocate who sells people into trash, he might be driving a lambo out of commissionz

Gary's Den is the BEST clone of DHP that I've ever put my nose on. I have Alexandria Fragrances Leather Intense, and Gary's Den blows it away in my opinion. I think it's worth picking up so that it can become a regular scent in your rotation during the cooler months... Unless you have money to burn.
@@brasstacksboxing409 the two you mention are DHI, and what I'm talking about is Dior Homme Parfum. I haven't tried the ones you mention, as I'm not a DHI fan. But, I have heard the two you mention very good clones of the original.

Leather Intense by Alexandria Fragrances has the best DHP clone Ive smelled so far. It is SO close, but not as much longevity, but still 8 hours. Its worth getting a sample. I was blown away at how close Leather Intense was to DHP.
I've never smelled DHP but have Alexandris's Leather Intense and it's incredible. And is selling for $39.99 for the 50ml and $67.99 for 100 ml. Which is a steal!
I have both Gary’s Den and the FOMO and agree the differences are minimal, I get more rose in the Dior but as a value for money proposition or just availability, it can’t be beat

I’m always amazed at people who blow through frags like Sauvage Elixir or DHP very quickly.
Same I wear them twice a month maybe four sprays max I’ve seen people put a crazy dent in the bottle after a year

Interesting, I hadn’t even heard of this fragrance before. Even in the UK DHP is difficult to come by, but I have a bottle of Harmonious by Boadicea the Victorious, which I’m told is similar, except it has a prominent rose note. DHI feels lighter, simpler and sweeter - definitely the more versatile of the two as Harmonious is so much richer and more opulent by comparison.
Gary’s Den is the best alternative available right now. I have DH Parfum, Gary’s Den and Leather Intense by Alexandria. Gary’s Den is much better than the Leather Intense.
Gary's Den was worth the price but the "iris" is pretty thick to me. People that enjoy iris don't see it that way and think it's more fruity. I normally only enjoy a light touch of the stuff like in Gentlemen. I don't love the whole scent profile enough to take a $170 plunge on it. GD does last a fairly long time.
you're being nice but honestly I own a lot of clones and recently started buying more original fragrances and the difference in quality and especially sillage is really huge

A lot of clones have this dirty unrefined smell in the opening. They tend to nail the dry down but the opening can be rough

I totally agree, I bought a couple hyped clones and hate them. They smell synthetic, bad quality and last 2 hours. Using them as room freshners now. Don’t believe everything these influencers say, they are being paid/given free bottles. Look at how many of them have posted a video about fragbuy sale 😂
This reminds me when Lataffa Asad was making the rounds as a Sauvage Elixir copy. I absolutely hated it. Something about it was off and overly synthetic. I tried the actual Elixir in Sephora and eventually got a bottle. You can't match the OG 1:1.

I bought second hand the DHP and sold it a week later because I can't stand the lipstick vibe. Some months ago I bought Gary's Den 😂
I bought FOMO Asylum (Roja Elysium) and I was extremely disappointed by the scent, projection and longevity. I tried it again after 3 months and no improvement. The scent is gone in less than 30 minutes. I must have got a bad batch (as well as others) as there are reviewers who raved about how good the performance and scent is. Has anyone got any negative experiences with Gary's Den?

I read somebody's comment down below saying that they just tried the vanilla oud fragrance from the Vertus- I also got a sample of it and just love it! Really only need one or two sprays, but it's so great for this kind of weather. Thank you for the recommendation!

I have DHI, & the FOMO, had DHP & will again. If you're very young, perhaps buy FOMO. Otherwise, the Dior.

I'm so surprised to hear that Dior Homme Parfum isn't sold in America.
It was available in South Africa for quite some time. I bought a bottle earlier this year for around $160 (US dollars).
However, it's now disappeared off the South African Dior site. Possibly discontinued again?

Gary's den is nice and that price and presentation I am happy with as well, As far as how close they are .... They are different I enjoy both for different reasons Dior homme parfum is deeper has more leather and I can pick up on rose in the background Gary's den is nice but they are not one to one imo. A Cooler night I'm grabbing the Dior warmer nights if say you can't go wrong with the fomo. Bit of a playdoe vibe i got from the fomo not through the whole experience but enough that i didnt enjoy that when it did show its face.
I went crazy. I got two bottles of DHP and two bottles of Gary's Den. I should be good for life. Maybe I'll get a couple of bottles of DHI for good measure, when they become available. Cheers.
How does Gary's Den do in regards to cloning DHP? Is it different enough to DHI to get if i already have DHI?

If you like and have DHI, it is different and more wearable than DHP. Since I like the scent profile DNA I got both.
But I got FGD because I want to wear the same family of scent more often without obsessing over the cost.
I was even considering getting Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee for a different iris scent.
But the FGD was too good of a deal to pass up. And the price of two bottle is still way cheaper than any designer iris frag. Despite the cost, it is still class and boujee.
I don't regret getting FGD at all, I don't have to think twice to grab it. I really do hesitate when I go for DHP or DHI. To the point of often not wearing it.

I might be wrong, but I think you will pay about as much as FBCA has it listed for anywhere you go. I've never seen anyone talk about getting it cheaper than ~$170, but I could definitely be wrong about that. I don't think FB price gouges folks though. I think they might list it at MSRP, worst case scenario. They're good people.
I live in Sweden. I got a bottle from dior official website for 140$ or something. Now its out of stock from dior official store but from discounter the price starts at 200$+

While they are not very comparable to me, for my taste I prefer Vanilla Oud
Both are in my top 10 fragrances in my collection, but as I look at my rankings, I have DHP #4, and Vertus Vanilla Oud #8.

Thanks for your contribution to me giving up on Dior 😂. I understand Dior and others market to the demand, but I suppose they just couldn't keep a small market here in the states ( Only at Nordstrom). I caved to the FoMo 😂
I almost gave up too bro, but I went to France this summer and was about to get it. Bro it’s even hard to find it over there. It’s not available at any fragrance shop in Europe only the Dior stores. Luckily on my way home they had it at the Dior store in the airport. I was over there a whole month on the hunt and found it at the last minute. Once again only available online in Europe and the Dior stores in Europe. It smells like a darker version of the intense with a pinch of oud, noticeable leather, and a touch of rose. The intense is actually the more well rounded fragrance but the parfum is unique in that it’s more dense.
As I said, I still think Dior is superior, but GD gets the same idea across in the air.
I was able to pick up the last two bottles remaining in stock at the time of Dior Homme Parfum 100ml for $135 each at Duty Free at the new Abu Dhabi airport 🥳😊

Back-up bottles are a waste of money. If you're a fragrance collector, your fragrances will likely outlive you. For example, if you have 100 bottles of 3.4 Oz of fragrance, it's near impossible to use them in their entirety. That's even considering if you never purchased another bottle again, which likely is an unrealistic belief.
Is every batch of DHP so sweet in the drydown?

How long does the sent last?
I can’t give you a quantified answer to that question. It will depend on several variables.

I have some clones in my collection. They serve a purpose. On one hand, I am ethically against clones. On the other hand, you don't need $100-$400 fragrances EVERYWHERE you go. Save them for special to even just semi-special occasions.
I bought my girlfriend PDM Delina less than 6 months ago. She loves it. So much so, that she has gone through TWO bottles of it and ONE bottle of BTSO Drunken Saffron, since then.
I got her some clones to kind of slow her down a bit. I said, "Babe, just wear the clones on days when you are just running errands to the post office and such. Save the originals for time with me and family and such."
One clone I got her is Delilah. Also, 3-4 Armaf's. She left them all on my dresser and is now burning through the bottle of Delina Exclusif I got her.🤦♂️

Well for someone like me who enjoys the hobby but doesn't have $200 to shell out on a blind buy we appreciate these videos and the clones. I have Gary's Den but still thought I needed DHP after seeing this and owning it for 2-3 months and never having any occasion to wear it (GD) I'm good no need to spend the outrageous amount for something I may not ever wear.
