There are a lot of bootleg Mortal Kombat games on the Famicom, and I'll be reviewing them later. But one of them deserves a VERY special treatment....and that is "Mortal Kombat Trilogy" or "MK 5" or Mortal Kombat WhateverTheHellYouWannaCallIt.

I remember playing one of the Mortal Kombat bootlegs ( 5:22 ) when I was younger, which was similar to the first MK game and I'm sure it was much better than this Krappy mess of a game, let alone a bootleg.
Anyway, it's nice to hear that season 2 of your show is coming. :)
Holy shit, I remember asking my dad to buy me a Mortal Kombat game, he went to the flea market and got this masterpiece! This video just unlocked some loooong represed memories. Still love my dad tho.

Oh bugger, this game. I don't think this has a single redeeming quality, except maybe one of the songs that plays during the fights. It's also worth noting that "Hosekn of USA" (what kind of name is that?) is actually Cony Soft, who also made a whole series of terrible Street Fighter II knockoffs.
Mortal Kombat II Special, on the other hand, would actually be really good if it had fatalities.
I guess cony wanted to make a Mortal Kombat game and they named it 2 games and named their company Hosekn of USA to not get sued or something.

I remember your original intro had the surfer music but now its the theme from the 1st level in Viruta Cop. Allie my good friend I'm glad to see this at least the wait was worth it I understand that your personal & hard drive issues were more important at the time. Its good to see bootleg shit back at least once again & this piece of shit also exists on the Mega Drive/Genesis as well.
What happened to Mortal Kombat 4 thru 15? There we got five whole trilogies.
Or maybe we should make a movie where it combines the horror of Anti-Piracy PSAs from Britain (1:19) with elements of John Carpenter's movies, including The Thing, The Fog & They Live (1:52)

nah ending of mk5 trilogy is fine. remember ghostbusters? and that was a licensed game. the another bootleg mk you also mentioned had the same ending. it was a common practice for pirates back then, so i wouldn't expect more than that.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy 5: Easy, Stupid, Crippling, Awful Edition. You know what the funny thing is? The A.I. is so easy, that it's not even remotely challenging, even for a 5 year old. The jump kick COMPLETELY decimates it! He's also right about the graphics being HORRID, even for pirated games/junk and he's right about the music being ear-rape central.
