    I wish I had thought to practice with commercial yarn first!

      I did for a good 5 minutes on that basic wheel I got, but obviously wasn't enough lol

    I’m so glad you did these lessons, Trish. I learned to spin almost 30 years ago, but somehow didn’t quite get the leader part. I always had mine just long enough to come out the orifice, and didn’t know about making a loop. I expect this will make starting a bobbin a much more enjoyable experience!

    Thanks for the tip on tying on to the bobbin, I did not know this. I sometimes have to start the yarn on the bobbin. This will be easier, thanks!

    Good tip for the leader. My way I have to remember which direction I'm spinning.

    That’s a good idea for how to attach your leader. I just doubled my leader yarn and knitted one end. Then I put one end through the other and tightened it around the bobbin.

    I’m so intrigued!! I have crochet and knit for years but never really gave much thought to if I could make my own yarn……….. Enter🤯🤯🤯🥳😍 Yes my mind is blown😂. So my question is if I only knit or do a small amount of handwork but wanted to get into this what do most people do….. then sell what they’ve spun to others? I see this as a COMPLETE addiction for me with nothing much to do with my end product….. thoughts? I am loving your videos for sure!!

    What does "drop your flyer down" mean? next larger whorl slot? smaller? Oh man, I have to save up for a real wheel now so I can try these techniques. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?

    Why would someone put tape on their equipment?! One of the looms I picked up this year is covered in dried out adhesive from masking tape labels they put on it to remember which piece is which, and I'm so frustrated by it.

    • @FiberLoveDiary
      @FiberLoveDiary  11 месяцев назад +1

      People do to keep the leader from spinning. I've been thinking about attaching a little cork board on my loom facing me so I can put up treadling patterns but it's hard to make myself stick anything to my tools 🤷🏼‍♀️
