Timing of apology is strange. Even if he is innocent and go free from the court, but not from the cops for the rest of his life. One mistake can completely turn your life around.

@@standupman6422 It was an accident that happened very quickly in the heat of panic, fear and confusion. Then the police witnesses swore to tell the truth and proceeded to deliberately and premeditatedly lie to the court and say Northrup was standing in front of the car and was run over intentionally.

@@peterfraser9070 Peter, I once saw an accident that from my point of view was a car running into a truck.
The car driver swore the truck ran into him. Perception matters. Some times it is not a lie, but where you are standing at the moment.
      But I digress slightly.
If you want to know what the verdict should be, ask this one simple question (and I don't need an answer) : If that was YOUR father, brother, uncle, friend, would you say the same thing THEN as you are saying now?
      Have a great day.

Mr. Look at the Facts, the facts in this particular case sure have made it tough for the prosecution to convince the jury that this accident was an intentional 1st-degree murder. Once this trial has ended, we need to legally go after the police witnesses who have perjured themselves in such a serious and outrageous way. What should happen to them, do you think?

@@billboggs6641 Is it acceptable to make a comment like you did without even knowing the basic facts? Obviously he could not "know" he was a police officer; someone can claim they are but you don't know it's true. He also wouldn't have know if it was islamaphobic-motivated or not; there wasn't time to really mull it over. Yes, trying to get away is an understandable response to danger. How is it possible you don't even know Mr. Northrup was not standing in front of the car when he was run over? It's been proven he was on the ground and in Mr. Zameer's blind spot.

    Oh. He apologized.
    That makes everything ok.
The fact that he still killed a police officer doesn't matter now. Had he run over a "regular" person, would he be crying? No. And his wife cried. That makes it doubly fine, right?
    No.
Undercover work is the most dangerous work a police officer does, because they essentially have no backup they can call.
Runs over a 300 lbs man and he thinks it is a speed bump... for 6.7 meters?
The very absurdity of what is proposed shows that he KNEW he had hit the man, he KNEW that he had run over the man. And he is hoping saying "I am so sorry" will remove culpability.
He had best get ready for a LONG, LONG stay in prison.
But if through the cowardice of people who don't want to be called names he is let off, guaranteed he has a lawyer on speed dial to sue the Toronto Police.

Mr. Zameer was trying to return home with his family; he's not a criminal and had no connection to the stabbing - had done nothing wrong - so if the undercover police had actually approached his car calmly and non-aggressively as they claim, he and his family would have had no reason whatsoever to panic and try to get away - and he sure as hell would have had no reason to intentionally run right over a policeman - especially if he knew he was a policeman. That is a bizarre and irrational story the 4 police witnesses are trying to sell to the court - and to the public in general.
And of course we know from the police's own crash re-constructionist (defence and prosecution), the undamaged front of the car, and from the videos that the 4 police witnesses have been lying, and they are the reason Mr. Zameer was falsely charged with 1st-degree murder.
