My favorite tape measure is a metal case Lufkin for the seventies. It has a push button break and a lever to lock it. I do miss Lufkin precision tools they made back in the day
As always, i enjoy to hear the laid back talk about tools, old and new. Great that you are beginning to show samples of your tool topics. Visual aids help me understand.
Warwood is already in the ball peen game! But they only have one weight available, but 2 options for steel type and with or without safety grip dip. I went for their fancier more expensive head option. It's great and even for all the handwork involved is very very nicely shaped. The ball end is actually round which you would think is the bare minimum but sometimes i guess folks are having an off day or management is pushing quantity or whatever. Even though the news has broken now that Marshalltown is buying Vaughan's factory, I'd still love to see Warwood further their lineup. I also happen to live fairly close to Wheeling, so i might be biased lol.
Just put in another order with y’all. Thank you for doing what you do! Warwood is an awesome company, y’all should see about stocking their products! I bought a ball peen from them and it is one of my favorites!
12:45 I've noted this in the past. The import knocks the US manufacturer out of business and inevitably raises the product price above what it could have been. I wonder when the US customer, and the US representative ,will work together to hold onto the US worker's jobs?
Vaughan was selling way to cheaply for way too long and Estwing isn't that far behind them. My uncle once told me his first Estwing bought in the early 70's was a weeks take home pay, now they are an hours or twos worth.
Could listen all day to these guys talking about tools old and new.

Hey now... Don't rush Steve's stories :) I could listen to his history for quite sometime!! I miss you guys, too many months since I've been in.
Already got a couple of the old tape measures on order. Love them!
Love those old textured chrome tape measures.

I'd read that Starrett had just been either acquired by or merged with a US-based private equity group?
Chuckle: 16R is 32/64/50/100. 5R is 32/64/10/100.
I don't know who's to blame for these designations, but they're a mess.
Shabatt Shalom! Where can I get a hat?
