Just wanted to make it clear that Cloud didn't "lie" about who he was, lie implies intentionality. Cloud actually believed he was in SOLDIER. Cloud's brain was all messed up because of mako poisoning from the Jenova Project's experiments Hojo did on Cloud & Zack after the Nibleheim incident. Now, it's not like Mako poisoning just make's you assume someone's identity, but because of Cloud's shame of not being good enough for the SOLDIER program and all of that, Cloud's mako poisoned brain co-opted Zack's SOLDIER identity.
Also other things: Tifa wasn't even close friends with Cloud, but she went along with the "Lie" because it was so strange and Cloud was the only connection she had to her old life. (Imagine finding an old childhood friend on the streets and then being able to perfectly recall events they weren't there for) And secondly, Cloud's actual personality is kind of a dork. He apologizes all the time, he admits to getting motion sick to Yuffie (which if you recruit her before Costa Del Sol, he'll tell her on the ship that he never gets sick because "Zach") Tifa has to spell out the possibility of physical intimacy under the Highwind, and can't even think of a cool pre-Ass Kicking one liner. I really hope that the remake reflects this better since Advent Children made people think he was an edgelord instead of "PTSD"
@@TheDancerMacabre Been frickin' ages since I've seen Advent Children but I do remember liking the ending where Cloud finally puts the past to rest and stuff but I just really didn't understand the character shift. Assuming you haven't played FF7 Remake yet so no major spoilers but they actually play up dork Cloud's tryhard cool guy attitude even more. They absolutely nail the characterization of the characters in remake, it's one of the best things about the remake imo .
@@TheDancerMacabre That's just me but honestly, I always considered that the story of FF7, was just FF7, not the late sequels post-2005. In short, a finished story as it was imagined originally. I've always disliked companies using popular names to rehash stories endlessly, rewriting contradicting stuff and losing the original spirit. If a sequel isn't planned from the start, I rarely like that sequel.
@@xenotypos Even as soon as the release overseas, FF7's story was already being meddled with, like with the extra Zach scene at Hojo's Lab which brought more plot holes and questions than it did answers. Let alone the compilation which has caused misunderstandings and contradictions on OG FF7's plot and themes. Around 20 writers contributed to various parts of OG 7's story, it's a lightning in a bottle, and I don't think it can be captured again without at least Sakaguchi being at the helm. The thing about Knights of the Round is that for those of us that played the game, let's say, more in-depth? We were strong enough to kill all the rabble without needing it. I’m so glad Connor experienced my all-time favorite game. I played FFVII in 1998 after I graduated high school and I have the fondest memories beating it then restarting it all over again. 😆
What I loved about this the most was the dynamic between veterans in the chat helping with known overpowered materia and equip information and Connor genuinely having fun doing all the side quests to totally own the enemies in this game. As someone who played it when it came out I was really happy to see a fresh reaction to all the quirks and fun elements of the game I cherish so much!
Would love to see Connor try FF9 next, or even one of the SNES entries, but more power to him on whatever entry he may play. Glad he can go into these things with an open mind and become immersed in their incredible worlds.
Okay, so for people wanting to use Morph: Yuffie's ultimate Weapon, Conformer does 100% damage while using the morph command. Her weapon is found in the Sunken Plane. All the enemies in the Sunken Plane morph into stat boosting items. So it is intended. I'm not saying to grind there and get everyone to 255 stats: just that if you want a ribbon (or any other item) use Yuffie.
It's so quaint now, but it's hard to describe just how epic this game felt at the dawn of 3D gaming. It's easy to make fun of the graphics now, but in its time, the fixed camera angles and pre-rendered backrounds made games truely cinematic.
i often compare it to xenogears, while the 3d overworld models are.... questionable, the decision to use pre rendered backgrounds allow some surreal imagery, i can see why remake can have a tough time rendering it all
@@aokyoutsuki7744 And it was actually a very smart idea from Square to use pre-rendered (detailed) background like that. It was a time in which RPGs were searching for a way to go 3D, there were attempts before but FF7 was the first jrpg to do that, he's be copied by many later (Chrono Cross, Legend of Dragoon, Star Ocean II, Jade Cocoon, the Baten Kaitos series etc...). As far as I know it's mostly some survival horrors (famously, RE) that did that before FF7 used it in a totally different scale. It lost its purpose with time as graphics improved, but for humble beginnings of the 3D era, it was perfect for a rpg, enabling to feature crazy big worlds and cinematic angles.
Its not my favourite FF game (I prefer VI), but there is just so much that went into this game. It broke so much ground and pretty much opened up JRPGs to western mainstream. All the optional mini games with a different engine for each.. you just simply don't get that level of content from modern games.
Hearing Conner talk about the pc taking forever to render the animations made me realize why they used fmvs instead on The unmodded version. It looked a little messy even back then but there was NO WAY they could make a system handle all that in engine. It was a smart compromise. Though it's awesome to see the mod go back to smooth it out with our current technology.
You can tell he really appreciated this one and got more invested in the game loop more than FF8 (and loved trolling Mouse about her preference for 8). I love both games since they were my first two Final Fantasies, 7 will always be my personal favorite just due to the circumstances of when I played these two games as a kid. Would be nice for him to experience either Crisis Core or the Remake while the FF7 high is still relatively fresh in his mind, but also switching over to 6, 9 or 10 would be good since those are also strong games with their own merits. Ideally it will be great to see him experience them all eventually.
fun fact, the 'lets mosey' line was supposed to be clouds catchphrase but it was lost in translation, this is why barratt responds the way he does even though as a player youve only heard him say it once.
Really glad Connor enjoyed it. OG FF7 over the years has gotten a bad wrap due to being so popular during it's heyday that it's overrated, to being misunderstood due to the Compilation and overall popularity compared to other FF's and JRPGs, to the point thats it's almost underrated. FF7 is the real deal, though there are a few outdated aspects, but the game has a timeless story and a mind bongling amount of content and variety for a 1997 game.
I wish it was slightly less popular so Square would leave it the hell alone. Dont really care for the compilation and the remakes are not really remakes they are just more compilation. Still play the original at least once a year since it came out and am still impressed everytime with what they did even if I could slowly see graphical parts age each time I went back the story and characters are timeless for me. Cant really go wrong with FF4-10 though tbh. Ones after and before though I wish I had my time back.
@@Ragingspoon Thank you. I hate how they're sullying FF7 again and again with all that new stuff they never planned originally. It often contradicts the original story, adds useless points, and almost never corresponds to the original atmosphere. Even the "remake". The compilation and everything is clearly something very different from FF7, I could never quite get into it personally.
@@RagingspoonI often read/hear that FF14 is also very good but damn, I don't want to get involved in an mmorpg again. I'll have to see if there are compilations in "series/movies" format to just focus on the story.
Fun fact about the last fight, his counter materia is not to blame, all materia is disabled in the last fight. The counter attack by Cloud happens no matter what as long as you don't use Omnislash, it's a fail safe so you can't lose the last fight, I've even tried editing Cloud to have 1 HP, Sephiroth then does 0 damage with his attack, it's basically a gravity based attack.
I hope next time Mouse is well enough to be a larger contributor. She slept through most of VIII and was sick for this one. I hope they can do like a Co-op FFX stream (as Voice acting means Connor can be more engaged in the story)
@@JonacciI'm going to assume that your question is real and that you have just discovered the channel. So, IronMouse is a Vtuber. It consists of being a streamer using an animated avatar allowing you to remain anonymous, not to be judged on physical appearance and also, let's be realistic, to attract fans of japanimation. Connor wasn't very interested in it but he got in touch with IronMouse when her popularity exploded and they became friends over the years. IronMouse also recently won the Streamer of the Year award, which further exposed her to less "weeb" gamers. Finally, one of her particularities is that she is affected by an illness that destroys her immune system which forces her to stay at home. It's also because of this that her voice is very high: her vocal cords were affected, which is quite sad because before falling ill she was taking lessons to become an opera singer.
@@Gonzoraas a new watcher of Connor and iron mouse aswell it’s been a great time watching these guys be apart of the FF7 train. I’ve learnt so much from watching especially from your comment thanks a lot I’m very surprised and impressed how far ironmouse has come and how enjoyable I find this content, I don’t think I’ve spent 40 hours watching many of even my favourite RUclipsrs this was great stuff
I'd like to see him play FF4. That was the first game I _completed._ I started with FF1 (my computer fucking exploded), then I thought I softlocked myself into an eternal battle with Bahamut in 3 (I played the remake later after learning my mistake), and then I played 5 up until I caught Ifrit in the library. I tried to load my save months later but the emulator didn't click with it for some reason.
I was thinking to learn the second limit break of each character you had to kill 90ish enemies "with the limit break" but that character can do it by any means and it's good enough. In Aeris' case she tends to just heal when I use her so she barely ever gets a killing blow on enemies so it takes forever for me to get her Limit breaks. If I can just have her kill a bunch of low level enemies that should be a lot less annoying. It's probably not that hard to game the system so everyone has their level three limit before even leaving Midgar on disk one.
12 was good as well. If not a little confusing.. the License board was really interesting getting to actively choose what skills/stats to learn manually for each character... Ngl, Dirge of the Cerberus was somewhat meh, tbh the main reason I liked it was because you can see higher fidelity Yuffie. (And the after effects of meteor crashing down...) And 13 I'd personally just skip altogether...it was super linear until endgame (actually just like walking down a straight corridor the whole game...)
@@MonsterGaming-rh7sb my comment wasn’t an invitation to tell me about your favourite final fantasy game bro. I almost didn’t even write that part out because I knew it would get some fan in here telling me what game he should actually play lmao.
@@SDREHXC too bad. It's called freedom of speech. Cry about it. Lol. And none of those are my favorite it's actually one for the GBA, but I know he'd probably never play it...
I think the biggest impact FF7 had on me was the fact that you tried your absolute best, but just couldn't stop Meteor.... You beat up and killed a literal god/fallen Angel but couldn't stop Nature from taking its course...
@@Imblu95 of course, life finds a way. But not because you were a hero and stopped it from happening. More like humanity clung on and survived despite it happening. Which I honestly like more than if you did stop it and everyone lived happily ever after. Ff7 had a way of subverting your expectations. Like when you found out you were planting a bomb at a reactor and being a literal terrorist. You weren't the "good guy" despite your perspective as the main character. Plus the whole flashback event where you fought a huge dragon monster with Sepiroth and realized how weak you actually were in comparison...it made you think "maybe I'm not the main character of this story after all..."
@@MonsterGaming-rh7sbyou are right. In the end the main hero was Aerith and the Earth doing their thing. Though you did help out. Effectively, you were her bodyguard, as she requested, so she can get to where she needed to. So basically you helped to save the world not by chasing the Bad Guy but by helping a random stranger along the way. Though in the end you did need to knock Seph out of the way to let Holy work. So you can say that this was less a "only you can save the world" thing as a "help the world save itself by playing support." Work IRL as well. You don't fix people. You play support so they can help themselves. You don't fix world problems. You do what you can and try not to make things worse along the way. (Or fix your mistakes if you do, like, say, handing the keys to world destruction away. Take the L, even if it wasn't directly your fault) Very good lessons in the end.
Really enjoyed this journey, really recommend 9 after this one. It's my personal favorite game of all time, so many feels, great characters and world building ^^
Looking back, I can easily say that FF7 feels like a better game than FF8. When it comes to gameplay and story, FF8 felt like a convoluted mess. FF7 was a much simpler game and proved that sometimes, less is more. The only thing 8 has over 7 is Triple Triad.
I failed a semester of college when this game came out. I remember so clearly picking it up from the store the day it came out. I was so excited. I wasn't prepared
just wanted to write and say I have been watching the playthrough over the last week every day while doing other things with Christmas time, and this year being easily the worst of my entire life for many reasons your playthrough made the last week as enjoyable as it could be given the circumstances hope to see you play more final fantasy games, the ff7 remake games(I dont think you need to wait for each of them honestly, they are complete experiences IMO)
Finally made it here. I can't believe I'm about to complete this whole FF7 VOD. Tho', it is my first 'experience' of the whole game (I left off at the first Gold Saucer visit back then. I wasn't sure how to progress)
Seeing Aerith's smile in the end made me tear up. With the music and remembering the first time I beat it. Aerith knew she had to die to control the life stream and that smile idk it still kinda hurts!
Still fascinated by Connors bizarre choice of materia, screams NO! when the character with cover constantly gets themselves ko'd but never removes it, he uses no HPplus materia but uses destruct and gravity, or keeps the equipped but never uses them.
I was 10 when it came out and my first playthrough was around 140-150 hours. It was so good at the time. Playing it again now with upscaled mods, advanced lighting, arranged music etc is a dream come true.
If FF7 (and probably 8) has this effect on you, I wonder how you would react to scenarios like those of Xenogears or the first NieR. They are among the RPGs that have had the most impact on me, which is no small feat considering it's my favorite type of game. Also, I would like to point out that I love the FFs from the PlayStation era but FF9 is by far my favorite even if the storyline is less complex. Anyway, apart from JRPGs, the storyline of the virtual novels/puzzle games trilogy making up the Zero Escape game series completely blew my brain.
Thanks for the great content! Love seeing gamers enjoying the games I've played for the first time 💯 looking forward to your future final fantasy adventures!
Love seeing people experience this game for the first time and brings back memories of playing it for the first time as a 16 year old in 98 after renting it for a week from a little game shop and loving it so much that i bought a brand new copy as soon as i returned the rental copy lol, think i put in well over a hundred hours 😅 Picked up 8 on release the following year
I've never seen a more botched ending lol, Janky Jenova, invisible Supernova, & Omnislash bypassed. That's....that's really somethin. BUT HE DID IT!!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! playthrough was still lit and fun to watch. Freakin love this game.
This is after the fact and maybe not on all versions, but you can get a gold chocobo as a reward so you do not have to breed them. You just go to kalm and beat the weapons and the ghost ship. Give it to the guy in the attic who asked for them.
Connor, you should really look into playing FFVI. I feel like 6 was the peak of the SNES Pixel FF with an overall great story and a huge set of memorable characters.
Cool that you enjoyed it in 2023. I played it when it first came out. 7, 10, 9, 8 is my ranking for the old school FF games. Remake is good.. somewhat dragged out but they didn't mess it up.
Idk of Connor will see this, but in case I suggest he play bloodborne. I think he would immensely love it. Since he was a fan of elden ring. Also loved all this series and vods. I'm almost done with them. Amazed even with the mods how much better he is at these games. I don't have the brain to understand how things are linked and upgrading, levels work. I love rpg games, but my autistic brain(not a meme) doesn't understand them like other people. Reaction time also. 😅
The first time I played this many of the boss fights were are challenge to defeat. Now I can complete the whole game. Minus breeding the Gold Chocobo, once was enough. In 40 hour range. 10 years ago. After leaving Midgar. I casually ground a little bit most days after work until I was powerful enough to cross the Marsh without a Chocobo. It makes the scene with the Zolom impaled on the tree funny. Why you all so impressed. We literally just killed 5 of them crossing the Marsh. Despite all that. I finished it in 47 hours. It was funny how ridiculously OP I was for the rest of the game. The Monster that Attacks Priscilla at Junon. Hit with Meteorain as the opening attack. Dead.
Snes and PS1 are just the golden age of the JRPG, so many classics that you can still enjoy today. I hope before he plays another other Final Fantasy he plays Chrono Trigger
Cloud wasn't lying, he believed it and was wrong. if you play the other games around ff7 you realize that he woke up from a mako overdose and adopted the persona of zack. thinking he was really zack but named cloud of course
Really hope Connor plays the FF7 Remake soon, I think he'll prob love it since it expands on the characters so much, plus the gameplay is just *chef Kiss*
"How did they figure out this stuff" (for the chocobo quest) You don't need all that rng bs to be honest. Back then I just did several tries (by saving beforehand), with a few indications here and there from some characters it's very easy to have a black chocobo (which can go in both mountains and shallow water). The gold chocobo isn't that hard either, but figuring out the basic steps (no need for the rng stuff) isn't as simple.
Thanks CDawg, efen though sometimes you're a bit sour in TrashTaste... I really appreciated you delved into this game a good asmount more than other and just didn't rush through it. Thank you, very cool! I enjoyed your journey!!
I always enjoyed FF7 but preferred the story in FF6 a lot more as I thought it was more grand and operatic while less convoluted than 7 and more substantial than FF4 (FF2 US)
If you're enjoying FF7. Right now, I'd like to recommend The Advent Children movie and FF7 crisis core. There's a remake of that game, too, if you want to try it
ah... I remember this game like it was yesterday.... the time I spent on doing Chocobo's Ranching doubles the time I spent on doing the whole story. IDK if other people is like me or I'm the only weirdos that actually prefer spending my time making the perfect Chocobo that could win all races without me controling it rather than facing the silver-headed Mamaboi.
Xenogears was written as a final fantasy script by the main writers but was relegated to the lower level development due to being too final and not enough fantasy. I'd reccomend it as the xenogears/saga games are still spawning spiritual successors.
Well, that was certainly quite the ride. Took me a while to catch up. Congrats Connor for beating the final boss, Mouse's disruptions! And welcome to the crazy AF saga that is the Compilation: - First Soldier (now defunct mobile shooter about the training of the first batch of SOLDIER) - Ever Crisis (plans to go over the entire story. The FIrst Soldier portions deal with said first batch meeting teenage Sephiroth) - Before Crisis ( Everything from the Wutai War to the Nibelheim Incident and even the reactor bombing from the Turk POV. Japanese only mobile game) - Crisis Core (The HIGHLY RECOMMENDED prequel about Zack. Must play before the remake.) - Last Order (An OVA about the Turk POV on the Nibelheim Incident. Originally part of the story, now said to be based on it.) - Traces of two pasts (A novel about the pasts of Tifa and Aerith. Technically a prequel to the Remake, but whatever) - The girl who travels the planet (A novella about Aerith traveling the lifestream after she died. Not said to be part of the Compilation, but does not contradict it either.) - On the Way to a Smile (A series of short stories that bridge the gap between VII and Advent Children. - The Kids are Alright (A novel that also serves as a gap closer) - Advent Children (Anime Sequel to VII that brings back the gang. Highly recommended) - Dirge of Cerberus (Vincent focused shooter. PS2 exclusive, pain to play. Picks up plot threads from Crisis Core) Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode (No longer available mobile game about a short mission that was not playable in DoC) - Remake (Retelling of the Midgar Part with extra bits. Might not be just a remake) - Intermission (DLC that tells what Yuffie was doing between Cloud falling down to Aerith and the plate dropping) Also while the devs dance around how canon it is, we have reason to believe a side character in Final Fantasy X-2 who is called Shinra , might be a distant ancestor to President Shinra. So: Final Fantasy X (First fully 3D and fully voiced FF game) Eternal Calm (A bonus cutscene to bridge the gap) Final Fantasy X-2 (First direct sequel game in the franchise) Final Fantasy X -2.5 (Sequel novel to X-2) Will (Audiodrama sequel to X-2.5)

I'm not saying to grind there and get everyone to 255 stats: just that if you want a ribbon (or any other item) use Yuffie.
The game bugging during Super Nova is one of the biggest blue balls ever. 😂
3:17:00 - Knights of the Round
It's so quaint now, but it's hard to describe just how epic this game felt at the dawn of 3D gaming. It's easy to make fun of the graphics now, but in its time, the fixed camera angles and pre-rendered backrounds made games truely cinematic.
i often compare it to xenogears, while the 3d overworld models are.... questionable, the decision to use pre rendered backgrounds allow some surreal imagery, i can see why remake can have a tough time rendering it all
Popeye arms😂
I'll have to see if there are compilations in "series/movies" format to just focus on the story.
theyve milked it and now ff7 is thought of as a weeb game instead of a masterpiece thanks to remake. sad
Technically it's even a late 1996 game.
bongling the mind
52:14 I've never seen this cait limit effect before. He literally turns into a raid boss.
Fun fact about the last fight,
his counter materia is not to blame,
all materia is disabled in the last fight.
The counter attack by Cloud happens no matter what as long as you don't use Omnislash,
it's a fail safe so you can't lose the last fight,
I've even tried editing Cloud to have 1 HP,
Sephiroth then does 0 damage with his attack,
it's basically a gravity based attack.
Why did it happen so quickly? Was it bugged because of his mods (speed modifiers?)
Another FF game is over 😢
I'll miss this series and hope we get to see more FF games played by Connor & Mouse
I hope next time Mouse is well enough to be a larger contributor.
She slept through most of VIII and was sick for this one.
I hope they can do like a Co-op FFX stream (as Voice acting means Connor can be more engaged in the story)
@@TheDancerMacabre Yeah true hope he plays more FF games and also completes FF16
What is that mouse? is it ai
Can't wait for you to play FF9 and FF6, those 2 are my favorite FF games. Thank you!
I hope he tries 6 soon, it would be good for him to experience the peak of the 2d games early in his FF journey imo
Would love to see FFX next.
I watched every last minute of this little ff7 saga and it was so good. I really hope he checks out 6, 9 or 10 next.
(And the after effects of meteor crashing down...)
And 13 I'd personally just skip altogether...it was super linear until endgame (actually just like walking down a straight corridor the whole game...)
@@MonsterGaming-rh7sb Yuffie in 13? 14 being a corridor? You're mixing up numbers my dude
@@KooriGraywolf yeah, I was. 13 was the one with lightning. I meant Yuffie in Dirge of the Cerberus.
I think the biggest impact FF7 had on me was the fact that you tried your absolute best, but just couldn't stop Meteor....
You beat up and killed a literal god/fallen Angel but couldn't stop Nature from taking its course...
But that's after 500 years, humanity survived after the events.
Take the L, even if it wasn't directly your fault)
Very good lessons in the end.
Really enjoyed this journey, really recommend 9 after this one. It's my personal favorite game of all time, so many feels, great characters and world building ^^
1:09:48 Holy shit, Cloud has so much MP...
Final Fantasy 9 Next! It has a wonderful story and fun battle mechanics.
Yeah FF10 as well
Looking back, I can easily say that FF7 feels like a better game than FF8.
When it comes to gameplay and story, FF8 felt like a convoluted mess. FF7 was a much simpler game and proved that sometimes, less is more. The only thing 8 has over 7 is Triple Triad.
Loved watching the entire playthrough, I really hope FFX is next.
1:44:30 Connor's luck 🤣
*Skip ahead to see Super Nova reaction*

Dammit
I failed a semester of college when this game came out. I remember so clearly picking it up from the store the day it came out. I was so excited. I wasn't prepared
FFIX is my favourite, so I hope he gets to that eventually. It has so much charm, fun, but also incredibly dark moments later on.
What a journey! Wasn't expecting another of these after ff8 tbh (amazing stream too btw, gobbled the whole thing) mad respects mah dude! :)
just wanted to write and say I have been watching the playthrough over the last week every day while doing other things
with Christmas time, and this year being easily the worst of my entire life for many reasons your playthrough made the last week as enjoyable as it could be given the circumstances
hope to see you play more final fantasy games, the ff7 remake games(I dont think you need to wait for each of them honestly, they are complete experiences IMO)
54:10 Another round of mating
mhmm another round of mating shall we
Still fascinated by Connors bizarre choice of materia, screams NO! when the character with cover constantly gets themselves ko'd but never removes it, he uses no HPplus materia but uses destruct and gravity, or keeps the equipped but never uses them.
I can’t wait for him to play ff9
I was 10 when it came out and my first playthrough was around 140-150 hours. It was so good at the time. Playing it again now with upscaled mods, advanced lighting, arranged music etc is a dream come true.
Dam these games are crazy, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully understand this franchise
play 6, it has an amazing balance especially compared to the insane plot of 7
If FF7 (and probably 8) has this effect on you, I wonder how you would react to scenarios like those of Xenogears or the first NieR.
FF7 best game ever made.
Wow super proud of Conor he played ff8 and ff7 i never thought this would ever happen
If he DOES watch Advent Children, hopefully it's the directors cut. The extended edition adds much more narrative weight to the Geostigma.
is that the same as 'complete'?
SHILLY SHALLY DILLY DALLY
Hah! I knew you'd love it! My #1 fav game. I've finished it at least 4times.
The biggest thing I appreciate about this, is that the mods like "No encounters" doesn't break achievements. And that's a huge W
Thanks for the great content! Love seeing gamers enjoying the games I've played for the first time 💯 looking forward to your future final fantasy adventures!
Love seeing people experience this game for the first time and brings back memories of playing it for the first time as a 16 year old in 98 after renting it for a week from a little game shop and loving it so much that i bought a brand new copy as soon as i returned the rental copy lol, think i put in well over a hundred hours 😅
Picked up 8 on release the following year
I've never seen a more botched ending lol, Janky Jenova, invisible Supernova, & Omnislash bypassed.
That's....that's really somethin.
BUT HE DID IT!!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! playthrough was still lit and fun to watch. Freakin love this game.
funny thing is by the end of it this is one of the games connor have been most invested so far, if not THE one game
Woooohooo! New blood onto the remake and rebirth hype train! There's no getting off of this train now! Let's mosey!
5:21:43 - Purchased Omnislash. 5:33:39 - W-Summon bought. 5:59:35 - Omnislash.
The Legend Of Dragoon would be a good shout. Amazing JRPG
Man, I wish I had a guide back in the day doing the forest part. :P
I'm so happy he loved it T_T congrats on finishing 7 and 8 Connor!
Maybe 7r next? >.>
I think crisis core remake is better choice considering the ending twist
Think he said in the first stream if he enjoyed og 7 he wanted to play the remake in its entirety, so I don't think he'll play it anytime soon.
Years after playing and loving this game i played Kingdom Hearts and cried when I heard Aerith speak.😭😭😭
I hope they play either FF 9 or FF 10, as those are also very good titles in the series!
Dead.
Now all you just gotta do is play crisis core, watch Advent Children, and play the remake to be caught up canonically.
Snes and PS1 are just the golden age of the JRPG, so many classics that you can still enjoy today. I hope before he plays another other Final Fantasy he plays Chrono Trigger
cant wait for connor to do ff10
the look of realization on his face when they quickly glossed over you need 64k BP and it took him hours to earn about 30
3:00:00 Gotta love that even at the end of the game, he has no understanding of how blue materia works.
Cloud wasn't lying, he believed it and was wrong. if you play the other games around ff7 you realize that he woke up from a mako overdose and adopted the persona of zack. thinking he was really zack but named cloud of course
Cait Sith is literally the "get down mr. President" guy.
3:55:39 you're welcome :)
Really hope Connor plays the FF7 Remake soon, I think he'll prob love it since it expands on the characters so much, plus the gameplay is just *chef Kiss*
"How did they figure out this stuff" (for the chocobo quest)
You don't need all that rng bs to be honest.
So, he finished the game... Well, this is NOT enough, Connor-san. Now, play the other FF :3
Hope he plays FF10 next
Mouse askwd for either ff9 or crystal chronicle. I think he might complete the ps triology 1st b4 moving to 6 or 10.

Thanks CDawg, efen though sometimes you're a bit sour in TrashTaste... I really appreciated you delved into this game a good asmount more than other and just didn't rush through it.
Thank you, very cool! I enjoyed your journey!!
I respect the effort!
I feel like W-Item glitch is left in intentionally since they fixed a bunch of other things, such as the way regen works.
I always enjoyed FF7 but preferred the story in FF6 a lot more as I thought it was more grand and operatic while less convoluted than 7 and more substantial than FF4 (FF2 US)
All thats left for connor is to play Persona 5 before Persona 3 reload drops in Febuary he can save 4 for last if he gets hooked
Oh man.... when I heard you say you're doing Knights of the Round I was like "AUGH Noooo Don't do this to yourself..."
And welcome to the crazy AF saga that is the Compilation:
- First Soldier (now defunct mobile shooter about the training of the first batch of SOLDIER)
- Ever Crisis (plans to go over the entire story. The FIrst Soldier portions deal with said first batch meeting teenage Sephiroth)
- Before Crisis ( Everything from the Wutai War to the Nibelheim Incident and even the reactor bombing from the Turk POV. Japanese only mobile game)
- Crisis Core (The HIGHLY RECOMMENDED prequel about Zack. Must play before the remake.)
- Last Order (An OVA about the Turk POV on the Nibelheim Incident. Originally part of the story, now said to be based on it.)
- Traces of two pasts (A novel about the pasts of Tifa and Aerith. Technically a prequel to the Remake, but whatever)
- The girl who travels the planet (A novella about Aerith traveling the lifestream after she died. Not said to be part of the Compilation, but does not contradict it either.)
- On the Way to a Smile (A series of short stories that bridge the gap between VII and Advent Children.
- The Kids are Alright (A novel that also serves as a gap closer)
- Advent Children (Anime Sequel to VII that brings back the gang. Highly recommended)
- Dirge of Cerberus (Vincent focused shooter. PS2 exclusive, pain to play. Picks up plot threads from Crisis Core)
Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode (No longer available mobile game about a short mission that was not playable in DoC)
- Remake (Retelling of the Midgar Part with extra bits. Might not be just a remake)
- Intermission (DLC that tells what Yuffie was doing between Cloud falling down to Aerith and the plate dropping)
Also while the devs dance around how canon it is, we have reason to believe a side character in Final Fantasy X-2 who is called Shinra , might be a distant ancestor to President Shinra. So:
Final Fantasy X (First fully 3D and fully voiced FF game)
Eternal Calm (A bonus cutscene to bridge the gap)
Final Fantasy X-2 (First direct sequel game in the franchise)
Final Fantasy X -2.5 (Sequel novel to X-2)
Will (Audiodrama sequel to X-2.5)
Awesome stream, my favorite FF
Shout out to Primalliquid, insane materia combinations, guides, cant dodge lightning, decent dude.
Cant believe how many times connor dies (or nearly dies) because he has turbo speed on and he just gets mulched because he didnt set battle mode to wait.😂
FFX for sure. Chrono Trigger is pretty short and amazing.
I love FF Tactics.
