Lyrics:
Within a fountain of stars, deforming remnants pulsate
in eclectic wisdom sublime, warping quantiles vibrate
Divine, a glimpse of carbon-based life, A gargantuan symmetric pursuit
in harmonic order, monolithic derivation, of seminal repute
Arise - Emanation of cosmos and time
Revive - Relinquished, forsaken, deserted mankind
Omnipresent, eudemonic, abandoned in ecstasy
Beyond all finite and infinite, quantile elements scintillate
in serendipity stillborn, a harmonic resonance amain - Видеоклипы
Man his sweeping technique is out of this world. So smooth
nice try rafael
@@ulasgursoy2838 " inconsistent and immature musician" wtf that suppose to mean?
@@ulasgursoy2838 - Here. I fixed your comment for you.
"Tom Geldschlager is a consistent and incredible musician who is much more talented than the members of Obscura. All of his guitar work made Akroasis the great album it is. I am a giant baby shit who is jealous of Tom's ability so I talk shit about him online like a child. I am the immature one. Not Tom."
Almost natural as breath.
The guys playing the solo in the video is not the actual person who played it and wrote it. Look up Tom Fountainhead Geldschlager
Cant wait for us humans in the future to grow 12 hand fingers , metal will be unstoppable!!
12 fingered hands?
No. 12 handed fingers.
Blahiesfkns Vvadik I was high sorry
It's okay we all get high off of Obscura.
Blahiesfkns Vvadik fucking awesome music, iIwas like yeah dude I need to see them live.
+Oscar AlfaX I'm a 16 year old kid in a family that'll never understand metal so I've never had the chance :((((
I was attending a small Beyond Creation concert and when I looked to my left I saw all the members of Obscura just chilling and enjoying the music, they weren't even playing a show that night. I even was able to have a chat with everyone and they were super chill it was one if not the best concert experience I had so far :)
Nice try Steffen
SEVEN STRINGS
S E V E N S T R I N G S
+shadowtroop121 Check out Alkaloid, Linus uses the same bass with them
+shadowtroop121 NO FRETS
N O F R E T S
+iam spoon bender I play a six string and get plenty of shit for it from my friends. playing a seven string might get me killed lol
shadowtroop121 I get shit just for playing bass lmao
+shadowtroop121 That's kinda tricky... its a 5 freetless strings plus 2 with normal fret.
Lots of 'Death" influence. Love this band!
+Jerry Leadbetter actually, Death's records are a thousand times more creative.
+Leonid Isachenko actually no they are not, true story.
Adrian Perez Ever heard of Human? ITP? Symbolic? Obscura's guys are praying for Death every morning for sure.
Look I appreciate death and love everything about Human Lack of comprehension especially. But when Paul and Sean left I thought they were ehh. I just think majority of the things Obscura released is next level as far as musicianship live shows and sound. And I also think Cynic is 10x better than death but that is my opinion, I'm not saying death is terrible in comparison but Cynic also hits me as far as musicianship and song writing and seans drumming is fantastic.
Adrian Perez Death and Cynic by far my favorite bands, but hey, they are DIFFERENT, too much different. I agree that Sean is fantastic, and Human is sick, but their next works just so much better in terms of songwriting. Symbolic is icon of Death's songwriting, yes, it's not death metal, but still.
"Hey guys let's make a music video."
"Oh! Oh! I had this really good idea; so like, this giant creature is rising out of the middle of the ocean and -"
"Let's just have close ups of us playing instruments."
"Fuck me, that's genius."
This is hilarious
Obscura's bass is what finally made me purchase my bass guitar. It is inspiring to see bands like Obscura, Necrophagist, and Animals As Leaders play the way they do and the bass guitar is practically a stand alone instrument with its own unique sound! I hope one day to play just as well as these musicians do :)
+Patrick Wilson abasi and brewer will eventually have a band, whats your opinion, i did enhoy better beyond creation bass than obscuras this akro, is it jus me?
+Patrick Wilson javier and tosin both play 8-string guitars, not basses
check out beyond creation, their whole music is built around the bass lines
+Patrick Wilson Definitely, check out Beyond Creation. Their bass lines are the best in the world.
+Vzor Yan Thats true but Tosin does add bass to the albums, they just don't have an actual bassist and he says they don't plan on it.
BER2ERKER i haven't noticed it that much.
3 comments advising to check BC out lol
2:34 "Hey Ladies, how ya doin?"
Hahahaha, I know. He looks fu#$ing hot!
omg, his expression was priceless
Looool!!! You made my day :D
Some Kind of Master Bassists don’t get ladies
That guitar solo is BEYOND human capabilities
rafael trujillo (the guy in the video) is a true virtuoso but the MONSTER who wrote this and played for the album recording is Tom (fountainhead) Geldschläger
all credit to him , although he was fired by steffen just before the release of this album....
(i cant believe how anyone can fire you....when you are overpassing excellence in your job)
***** damn, i just hope Rafael can play as godly as Tom or even.... Christian...
learned and performed in 30 minutes, its easy just practice more
It's not just playing something, it's how you play it lol
i guess he was just trolling....no way you can learn this in 30 m....even if you are a virtuoso like Tom, you need to memorize all the notes....and if you can .... no way you can learn those ultra fast slides 1:56-1:59 (rafael in the video plays them as hammer-pulloff sounds almost the same but its 10 times more difficult if you play it with slides like Fountainhead) in 30 minnutes
show us the video Stephen Schmitz
1:45 “Mommy, Presents! You Like Mommy!”
I can feel the Tom Geldschläger hand on this song. It's awesome but it's sad that we won't in the lineup.
+Sickdex Absolutely. The technique around 2:04 is almost trademark picking style of Geldschläger. He does it a lot and it sounds cool.
What separates this Obscura from alot of metal bands? they deliver with class
so stoked to see them with beyond creation in october
what a sick line up!!
gonna see them as well Obscure with BC and Revocation, that's gonna be one hell of a night
Same!
so effin jealous!!
:O Just found out beyond creations is coming to my town in October !! so stoked
This is one of those songs that just grows on you with time. It is now one of my favourite Obscura songs after about 20 listens in a row!
+as101345207 Agreed. I hated this song the first time I heard it, now I think it's absolutely stunning.
+as101345207 happens always to me when listening to more complex songs, it needs time and grows on you. It took me 2 years to really appreciate necrophagist.
That's interesting, I personally got into necrophagist really quickly. Probably because of their neoclassical vibe (I love classical music).
It's the first song that got me to Obscura, because during that time I was working my ass off to finish my Architectural Drawings, so I needed some relaxing but aggressive punch, cause coffee don't do anything anymore.
Juanes, the new frontman of Obscura :)
jaja c mamó
That Bass is so good, i love it when you can really hear the bass in the songs
That guitar player is insane!
loo up tom fountainhead geldschläger, he actually recorded these soli before he got fired and replaced by rafael
This is so glorious, really...Godly perfect musicians they are! Can't stop listening to this song and the teaser. 3:32 to 3:58 gives me goosebumbs it's like that bittersweet part builds up til the clear guitar end. On 3:50 the bass is really hearable, for me that is one of the climaxes of the song because it gives such a intense feel.
I agree 100%....this is pure bliss. Buying the album.
+Spacesonia eargasm
+Spacesonia I love hearing distinct bass lines. Venom's Nightmare has an awesome bass spot leading into the guitar solo
+Spacesonia Can't stop too. Wonderful.
+Spacesonia Yeah, it's an amazing track. I really love the production of death metal where the bass cuts through so clearly and plays a huge part in the progression of the arrangements (i.e. beyond creation, obscura, death....etc).
284 dislikes don't have any idea about music.
Long Live to OBSCURA,one of the best musical groups over the Earth EVER!!!
I can feel the Death influence
the intro is by far the best thing i have ever heard. no words.
The kings of modern Tech Death.
+Alberto Razo I don't think so, go listen to Beyond Creation, those guys are at the top of tech death right now.
+Carlos Carranza BC, Gorod, but Spawn of Possession is own everything, not just now, but in a long long time.
Well, Spawn is just in the same spot where Beyond are, but I must admit Spawn is even more complex. In my opinión Beyond are more progressive while Spawn are more technical but with their obvious prog influences. Gorod are both of them! I really liked their most recent album.
+Carlos Carranza In my opinion, Spawn of Possession is simply has no opponents in technical death metal (and even in extreme metal) at all. I mean, yes, Beyond Creation are great, a solid band that delivers a decent material (honestly Aura is a lot more enjoyable than their last), Gorod is just great, their recent album is not as heavy as A Perfect Absolution, but very musical, which is good. But still, Spawn of Possession is one of a kind, Bryssling is a genius beyond the words. What about this song... This song is weak. Too weak.
Although Obscura is commonly credited as technical progressive death metal I wouldn't call this progressive. After having listened to this song for about 10 times I can say it ends up being boring except for the incredible solos which were composed by Fountainhead.
Whenever I hear this song, all the pain and misery of existence simply washes away... I can feel all the universe's energies following through me, and it just brings happiness. This song is just perfect.
Can a crushingly heavy and technical death metal song be relaxing? Because Obscura's smooth delivery achieves that here.
This is not tech death this is art death metal
Poetic and melancholy this song, epic!
james franco really singing his heart out here
this deserves more views..
The bass sound sounds identical to the one used on "Individual Thought Patterns"
Yep, this is a fretless bass (string aren't pressed on the metallic part but directly to the wood, this give a "sweater" sound)
that bass clearly has frets
it's a fretless bass with fret lines.
Bam!
I see, sorry I doubted you.
This is different than the older material but it's in every way perfect for me. This album is lining up to be really promising
+Kacpiar Klacper Not that different, very similar even. Still great though!
+Kacpiar Klacper hi
+Kacpiar Klacper sup man like me pepes
+Kacpiar Klacper hello Per-chan fancy seeing ye here
but yes I agree completely
+Kacpiar Klacper oi
Love this audio production. Bass clearly audible and conservative amounts of gain on guitars to let the mix breathe.
2:19 - 2:25 is one of the most sublime passages I've ever heard.
one of those parts, i skip back a thousand times!
JohnGribbin Right? I don't even know how many times I've gone back just to listen to that. Takes my breath away every time.
all credit to geldschläger!
Oh definitely - Fountainhead is utterly insane!
JohnGribbin I thought I was the only one. Lol
Welcome To The Obscure Era...
+George Bautista I sense a Twilight Zone mood in the clean part and space.
Schuldiner legacy!! Great masters sons of the unique father of the Melodic Techicnal Death Metal!!
Wow, Tom really delivered on guitars. Always impressive. Happy Linus could have so much input and Seb could stretch it. :) Bravo to Seb, Linus and Tom. :)
+G. Reis The actual guitar parts were played and recorded by Tom Geldschläger aka Fountainhead (now ex-member). Go check him out he's a great player and musician.
+G. Reis Uh... no they didn't. Check out Fountainhead's Facebook page. He bashes the new guy for incorrectly synchronizing his fingers to the solos and on the same post Linus comments that "This is my favorite solo from you (Fountainhead) on this album". And Obscura stated the following on their Facebook page "Tom Geldschläger was part of this album, and we are very thankful for his contributions. We didn't mention him on the teaser, because we wanted to present our new guitarist (new song material, new artwork, new lineup), but of course he is mentioned & credited on the album as made public prior to announcing the new album." So... his parts are still on the album.
+G. Reis Fountainhead wrote a good portion of the album and wrote and recorded all the leads. He was fire via phone call a day before the album was done being mixed, lol.
+James Moran Was a proper reason ever given to clear up the ugly display of negative egoism surrounding the (what is beginning to look very much like a) revolving door of players in relation to the release of this album? I love Obscura and Steffen's vision for the band remains intact because of his innate talent and serious drive, as a musician, to be heard.... but without a stable line-up this band WILL falter... it's just a matter of time. OBSCURA for real!!!!
***** Nope, I see/feel the same thing. I hope they don't go all necrophagist on us.
Probably the best sweeping stuff ever.
What a killer track!! Was a honour sharing the stage with you at Inferno in 2010. :) Hope to see you guys on the road sometime.
Love the format of this music video, no excessive distractions or unnecessary additions... just good quality camera work showing each member dominating his respective instrument!
my life changed after i heard this song
I love Obscura!!!!!!!!! The best fucking band in this shitting times!!
Actually listening to this band for the first time. I have to say they're one of the better metal bands of the current era.
Thanks for the random recommendation, RUclips
what a breath of fresh DEATH in the air
02:18 this part should've been made longer. really cool sounding. the lead, the rhythm and drums suit so good.
so good. I'll never get tired of the sound of that bass.
33 dislikes? WTF? Disliked it because of WHAT?! Stop listening to Death Metal if you already hate it by default... Stop clicking on AWESOME VIDEOS IF YOU HATE AWESOME VIDEOS...
If anything the dislikes are probably from people expecting death metal, and getting some straight prog metal shit.
+BER2ERKER You expected straight boring death metal from Obscura? LOL.
+Deathbyblackhole What I said does not lead to what you just wrote. Maybe that's a logical issue on your part or an assumption, I don't know what to tell you:
Steffen Kummerer...that asshole....genius yes, but as good as he can be in music he is ....being an asshole for trying to discredit and delete the EXCELLENCE and hard work that Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger has put on this album
: (
very sad...
Obscura from mighty to masterful, don't ever stop making music.
Man, these guitarists are hella skilled just look at that sweeping
They lifted the metal pedal a little compared to the older stuff, it's much more towards melodic metal at times but those guys are plain and simply virtuosos and despite being very young, they can evolve and still sound like Obscura. It takes a lot to hook me to a band, and those guys got me hooked big time.
+Karloz H Now that you mention it I agree. However, Obscura's bassist smokes Dark Tranquility's one, I don't even know where to begin to compare. And live, what you hear on the album is what you get live with Obscura, if you tell me the record in one take in the studio I will believe you. Definitely not the case with Dark Tranquility.
Stuff like this is why I don't get how anyone can waste their time with pop music.
Dorian V Do you even Aurora?
but there is good pop out there if you search past the top 50 shit lmao
Metal is subgenre of pop music.
Czapla Siwa Sort of. As I understand it, the umbrella term "popular music" and the ever-evolving genre of "pop music" are separate entities
Digital Deathsquid
Yes, popular music basically means anything that's not classical (including Jazz) whereas pop means dumbed-down, commercialised music-lite.
I can't hold myself, I have an earection...
As fountainhead has said that this guitar solo is actually a tribute to Chrisitian Muenzner, he did absolute justice. Heavenly solo.
"Filmed in Salzburg, Austria at 17th of October 2016."
I knew these guys had to be from the future.
This is pure art
Wow, that sweeping is so clear and smooth... Just great!
That solo feels incredibly good to listen to.
7 bass strings!! so badass
One of my favorites!!
Any listeners in 2020?
we'll be here forever
Can't stop listening to this song.
So dark, yet so bright.
Pre ordered along with a shirt and a hoodie. So stoked for this album
excellent, just perfect
As strange as it may sound, some of these harmonies remind me of Deafheaven. Must be the clean 7th chords + reverb + blast beats. And some Cynic too, especially 3:50. Love the song anyway though.
+DreamPurpleFloyd the bittersweetness of the song indeed
+Spacesonia Pretty cool to see a Tech Death band creating atmosphere, it's quite unusual. BTW I love your old school Death Metal covers, keep them coming :)
So fucking good. Really like the juxtaposition of chaotic virtuoso outbursts with nice structured chugging and beautiful simple cleans. Just a great song overall.
The Mixing of this song and even entire album is so smooth, just listening to the drums and bass gives me eargasm, Santura did a great job
Dat bass tone! :)
holy f**k balls...now thats a bass!!
This is, in my eyes. THE perfect song. The rhythm, the leads, the bass, the drums ahh just everything
huge respect for that solo.
One of the best
That smile at 02:35. #techdeathonsteriods
00:11 I only saw a fucking octopus playing instead of his fingers
How do people even dislike this.....Can't wait for the release...
They are truly timeless! ...because the video was recorded in 2016 and we have still 2015! :D
iNCREIBLE .. SON UNA BRUTALIDAD... SALUDOS DE COSTA RICA CARTAGO
Pause the video at @1:49
instrument of death
I play bass and I can't even imagine what I'd do with a 7 string one. Damn...
I want to get a 6 pretty badly.
That bass on the whole song man! So dope
That was amazing. Thanks for the upload guys.
Cara achei tudo o que eu queria nesse vídeo...
Que melodia o cara viaja, Belo som ! 1:17
Maravilhoso
Just discovered this band (thanks to their covers of Death and Cynic), and they seem to be great! I'm looking forward to hear more from them.
The best song of obscura
the best metal album 2016
ZaCK Deathroll No.
Maki La Tracher :v META by car bomb
The bassist is David Ghetta?
+Spark Blasphemer
we dont know....we know only about musicians here
: )
***** i was being sarcastic...
+Spark Blasphemer
i know man, i was joking too saying that i dont know who david getta is but.....it was a joke.....sadly i know who that guy is....like the rest of the world ...
but at least we all know here that he has less than 1% of the talent that he would ever need to write and after (if he had the guts...) to learn to play what is written like Obscura does
these guys are just too good for the majority of the people on earth to understand....
: )
there are genius, and then those who arent but at least can appreciate what a genius is....
So many trolls on da net bro, so many (the struggle), made me doubt what you said (in your joke)... Obscura is da real deal!!!
+Spark Blasphemer It's Linus Klausenitzer...unless there's some joke here that I'm not getting.
This song redefines what technical death metal can be.
Filmed in Salzburg, Austria at 17th of October 2016.
Thank you for time travelling.
Thanks for correcting it!
the singer looks like james franco after that miraculous solo
It's good. Not sure they'll over pull off an album on the same level as Omnivium, Chrisitan brought another dimension to the band that can't be quantified in terms of technical ability alone, it was like creative zen!
Christian was awesome in the previous albums, but daaamn if fountainhead also gave us some crazy shred on akroasis and amazin fretless guitar moments
well mixed and well written song. I think this might be my favorite obscura solo by Tom.
That bass... It gives so much intensity... Definitely love it!
Tom Geldschläger's black green guitar remind me about Type O Negative
This Song would be amazing in Guitar Hero
It's amazing to see a band like this they know perfectly how to mix the harmonic and melodic sound with the tecnical sophistication and the most impotant feeling and the lyrics out of mind, this is the end of a hard work the progress of magnificent I can't express with words the infinite admiration that they make me feel. Long live to metal, long live to poetry , long live to music , long live to deep and glorious feeling , long live to Obscura.
That solo came straight from heaven .
Yes. Given to us by the angel Tom Fountainhead Geldschlager
*praying for them to be part of the 30 unannounced bands of Hellfest 2016*
They're at Motocultor
(Same place, same season, way better festival)
yes but after spending 200€ for hellfest i think that my choice is already made
So Guys.... How many Hours of Practice and How many Virgins do i have to Sacrifice to be able to obtain such Skills like these????
10,000+ hours and at least 3.
more like philosophizing about cosmic events and the circle of life
I appreciate any band that puts emphasis on bass. It's so easy for bands to just have bass be background noise, instead of actually complimenting the rest of the music. I can hear how good it sounds even on these crappy laptop speakers, so that's just a testament to how good this bassist is.
I keep coming back to this album. It's the only album that makes me even want to learn and play as fast as tech death. Metronome BS. Ugh, so beautiful. There's so much here. I absolutely love it.
is very difficult to see a 7-8 strings guitar with single coils
And I was dancing reggaeton last night..
now it's time for moshing \m/ haha
and i was dancing salsa last night
always there is time for prostitution....im learning to dance bachata sensual lol
love the bass tone
You know a band is gonna be good when their bassist plays a bass with more strings than a standard guitar.
