@@ulasgursoy2838 - Here. I fixed your comment for you. "Tom Geldschlager is a consistent and incredible musician who is much more talented than the members of Obscura. I was attending a small Beyond Creation concert and when I looked to my left I saw all the members of Obscura just chilling and enjoying the music, they weren't even playing a show that night. I even was able to have a chat with everyone and they were super chill it was one if not the best concert experience I had so far :)
Look I appreciate death and love everything about Human Lack of comprehension especially. But when Paul and Sean left I thought they were ehh. I just think majority of the things Obscura released is next level as far as musicianship live shows and sound. And I also think Cynic is 10x better than death but that is my opinion, I'm not saying death is terrible in comparison but Cynic also hits me as far as musicianship and song writing and seans drumming is fantastic.
Adrian Perez Death and Cynic by far my favorite bands, but hey, they are DIFFERENT, too much different. I agree that Sean is fantastic, and Human is sick, but their next works just so much better in terms of songwriting. Symbolic is icon of Death's songwriting, yes, it's not death metal, but still.
Obscura's bass is what finally made me purchase my bass guitar. It is inspiring to see bands like Obscura, Necrophagist, and Animals As Leaders play the way they do and the bass guitar is practically a stand alone instrument with its own unique sound! I hope one day to play just as well as these musicians do :)
+Patrick Wilson abasi and brewer will eventually have a band, whats your opinion, i did enhoy better beyond creation bass than obscuras this akro, is it jus me?
+as101345207 happens always to me when listening to more complex songs, it needs time and grows on you. It took me 2 years to really appreciate necrophagist.
It's the first song that got me to Obscura, because during that time I was working my ass off to finish my Architectural Drawings, so I needed some relaxing but aggressive punch, cause coffee don't do anything anymore.
rafael trujillo (the guy in the video) is a true virtuoso but the MONSTER who wrote this and played for the album recording is Tom (fountainhead) Geldschläger all credit to him , although he was fired by steffen just before the release of this album.... (i cant believe how anyone can fire you....when you are overpassing excellence in your job)
i guess he was just trolling....no way you can learn this in 30 m....even if you are a virtuoso like Tom, you need to memorize all the notes....and if you can .... no way you can learn those ultra fast slides 1:56-1:59 (rafael in the video plays them as hammer-pulloff sounds almost the same but its 10 times more difficult if you play it with slides like Fountainhead) in 30 minnutes show us the video Stephen Schmitz
This is so glorious, really...Godly perfect musicians they are! Can't stop listening to this song and the teaser. 3:32 to 3:58 gives me goosebumbs it's like that bittersweet part builds up til the clear guitar end. On 3:50 the bass is really hearable, for me that is one of the climaxes of the song because it gives such a intense feel.
+Spacesonia Yeah, it's an amazing track. I really love the production of death metal where the bass cuts through so clearly and plays a huge part in the progression of the arrangements (i.e. beyond creation, obscura, death....etc).
"Hey guys let's make a music video." "Oh! Oh! I had this really good idea; so like, this giant creature is rising out of the middle of the ocean and -" "Let's just have close ups of us playing instruments." "Fuck me, that's genius."
Love the format of this music video, no excessive distractions or unnecessary additions... just good quality camera work showing each member dominating his respective instrument!
Whenever I hear this song, all the pain and misery of existence simply washes away... I can feel all the universe's energies following through me, and it just brings happiness. This song is just perfect.
Well, Spawn is just in the same spot where Beyond are, but I must admit Spawn is even more complex. In my opinión Beyond are more progressive while Spawn are more technical but with their obvious prog influences. Gorod are both of them! I really liked their most recent album.
+Carlos Carranza In my opinion, Spawn of Possession is simply has no opponents in technical death metal (and even in extreme metal) at all. I mean, yes, Beyond Creation are great, a solid band that delivers a decent material (honestly Aura is a lot more enjoyable than their last), Gorod is just great, their recent album is not as heavy as A Perfect Absolution, but very musical, which is good. But still, Spawn of Possession is one of a kind, Bryssling is a genius beyond the words. What about this song... This song is weak. Too weak.
Although Obscura is commonly credited as technical progressive death metal I wouldn't call this progressive. After having listened to this song for about 10 times I can say it ends up being boring except for the incredible solos which were composed by Fountainhead.
Wow, Tom really delivered on guitars. Always impressive. Happy Linus could have so much input and Seb could stretch it. :) Bravo to Seb, Linus and Tom. :)
+G. Reis The actual guitar parts were played and recorded by Tom Geldschläger aka Fountainhead (now ex-member). Go check him out he's a great player and musician.
+G. Reis Uh... no they didn't. Check out Fountainhead's Facebook page. He bashes the new guy for incorrectly synchronizing his fingers to the solos and on the same post Linus comments that "This is my favorite solo from you (Fountainhead) on this album". And Obscura stated the following on their Facebook page "Tom Geldschläger was part of this album, and we are very thankful for his contributions. We didn't mention him on the teaser, because we wanted to present our new guitarist (new song material, new artwork, new lineup), but of course he is mentioned & credited on the album as made public prior to announcing the new album." So... his parts are still on the album.
+G. Reis Fountainhead wrote a good portion of the album and wrote and recorded all the leads. He was fire via phone call a day before the album was done being mixed, lol.

OBSCURA for real!!!!

They lifted the metal pedal a little compared to the older stuff, it's much more towards melodic metal at times but those guys are plain and simply virtuosos and despite being very young, they can evolve and still sound like Obscura. It takes a lot to hook me to a band, and those guys got me hooked big time.
+Karloz H Now that you mention it I agree. However, Obscura's bassist smokes Dark Tranquility's one, I don't even know where to begin to compare. And live, what you hear on the album is what you get live with Obscura, if you tell me the record in one take in the studio I will believe you. Definitely not the case with Dark Tranquility.
It's amazing to see a band like this they know perfectly how to mix the harmonic and melodic sound with the tecnical sophistication and the most impotant feeling and the lyrics out of mind, this is the end of a hard work the progress of magnificent I can't express with words the infinite admiration that they make me feel. Long live to metal, long live to poetry , long live to music , long live to deep and glorious feeling , long live to Obscura.
I'm surprised, really, at how incredible this song is considering the seious lineup change. I don't know about you but this is my kind of Obscura! Always appreciate awesome guitar work! Tom did an amazing job on this one, and I'm sure Rafael did too in the other songs! Only the best plays in Obscura.
It's good. Not sure they'll over pull off an album on the same level as Omnivium, Chrisitan brought another dimension to the band that can't be quantified in terms of technical ability alone, it was like creative zen!
Man his sweeping technique is out of this world. So smooth
nice try rafael

Almost natural as breath.
The guys playing the solo in the video is not the actual person who played it and wrote it. Look up Tom Fountainhead Geldschlager

Schuldiner legacy!! Great masters sons of the unique father of the Melodic Techicnal Death Metal!!
Obscura from mighty to masterful, don't ever stop making music.

so good. I'll never get tired of the sound of that bass.
Wow, that sweeping is so clear and smooth... Just great!
That guitar player is insane!
loo up tom fountainhead geldschläger, he actually recorded these soli before he got fired and replaced by rafael
Probably the best sweeping stuff ever.

I appreciate any band that puts emphasis on bass. It's so easy for bands to just have bass be background noise, instead of actually complimenting the rest of the music. I can hear how good it sounds even on these crappy laptop speakers, so that's just a testament to how good this bassist is.

that bass clearly has frets
it's a fretless bass with fret lines.

I see, sorry I doubted you.
That solo feels incredibly good to listen to.
what a breath of fresh DEATH in the air
This is, in my eyes. THE perfect song. The rhythm, the leads, the bass, the drums ahh just everything
This is not tech death this is art death metal
huge respect for that solo.
One of the best
This is pure art
The Mixing of this song and even entire album is so smooth, just listening to the drums and bass gives me eargasm, Santura did a great job
I love Obscura!!!!!!!!! The best fucking band in this shitting times!!
Pre ordered along with a shirt and a hoodie. So stoked for this album
james franco really singing his heart out here

Just discovered this band (thanks to their covers of Death and Cynic), and they seem to be great! I'm looking forward to hear more from them.

How do people even dislike this.....Can't wait for the release...

I don't know about you but this is my kind of Obscura! Always appreciate awesome guitar work! Tom did an amazing job on this one, and I'm sure Rafael did too in the other songs! Only the best plays in Obscura.

That was amazing. Thanks for the upload guys.
It's good. Not sure they'll over pull off an album on the same level as Omnivium, Chrisitan brought another dimension to the band that can't be quantified in terms of technical ability alone, it was like creative zen!
Christian was awesome in the previous albums, but daaamn if fountainhead also gave us some crazy shred on akroasis and amazin fretless guitar moments
