To all the rugby fan boys, American football referees mostly in the NFL, are shady as shit and do not deserve respect. And also, there are a LOT of small and easy penalties in football that can be mistaken, or not seen my anybody but the refs, or seen by everybody but the refs.
It's because it's been built in to the game from the grassroots, plus the consequences are for both the team and the players , e.g. whole team can be marched back ten meters or reversal of penalty, sinbinned etc etc
10 minutes playing 14 vs 15 its enough to loose the match. If you cant rspect the rules, you loose. Also being the fair player is a huge morale booster.
