C6 Yelan is such a monster, almost no weaknesses at all. Energy isn't much of a problem with her 2 E charges, has high burst damage, also has high sustain damage, has one of the best elements, can be played both sub and main DPS, useful passive. And also to see that Yelan is one of the or the only one character who beats Raiden in all categories/challenges in these damage showdowns is insane.
The only character lol, even ayaka has fallen behind raiden sometimes this is a wet dream for whales, there should be peak f2p yelan vs raiden vs ayaka
Besides 3x Crowning Yelan because she’s a favorite, is there any benefit to crowning her normal attacks? The only thing that benefits from her normal attack talent is her charged shot since it has HP scaling.
@@Aliens1337 I believe the breakthrough barb (special charge shot) scales from her atk and her c6(?) changes her normal attack to btb for couple of hits.
The thing about this showcase is that for Raiden and Yelan IWTL made the most of their passives, but with Ayato, he didn’t actually take advantage of the Haran’s passive. It really cut his damage a lot
In some sitations it would have helped a lot, in other's the screen time of the other characters might have lead to a similar result. Noticeably for the Magu Kenki it would have barely been any different. But especially with he shield up Regisvine it would have helped him a lot, tho I doubt he would have beaten Raiden's time. For the shield down thing he might have shaved of a tiny bit. For the Vishap it's hard to say. With a higher damage potential and the passive he might have one cycled it for a similar time as Raiden's tho.
I noticed that too, AND in cases like the Maguu Kenki where teammates were used (c2+ Klee with, presumably, TToDS was used with Raiden) they weren't used for Ayato as well, instead Zhongli was used to activate the weapon's passive. Without Klee's def shred, and Thrilling Tales, being present for the support like with Raiden. I'm sure Yelan still comes ahead of Ayato as her C6 seems absolutely broken for these showcases, but it could have been a bit closer IMO
@@hexgleam c2 klee only def shreds with her E bombs, and you can see she has fav equipped which is how he was funneling energy. but yeah, not utilizing haran passive kinda makes it unfair. 80% normal atk dmg buff is massive
I feel like they may have made her so strong because they needed her to be "the better Xingqiu". And let's face it, Xingqiu is more cracked than a good amount of five stars already
She would have been “better Xingqiu” had she just had her damage amp talent and Xingqiu’s burst damage numbers, they really didn’t need to make her the single strongest damage dealer in the game
Honestly i think Yelan is Yoimiya done right. Their playstiles are of course different, the similarities comes from how many tools they are given. Yoimiya uses only her E and Basic Attacks even tho she has a unique charge shot and burst, Yelan's kit was designed to let her actually use all of it, she can use her special charge shot, her burst and skill.
Yess, I thought that too. AoE vise Yelan is much stronger tho (generally possibly as well) and Yelan is not punished for dodging and moving around which makes her playstyle a lot faster and dynamic in feel.
I think its just Yelan’s capability for speedrunning is so high that he triple crowned her. All 3 of her abilities contribute to her extreme burst and front loaded damage making her perfect for speedrunning
lady yelan even at c0 is alr a gamechanger for my account, finally cleared the abyss for the 1st time w her! overall the embodiment of fun gameplay and beautifully designed skill w high dmg input. she's the only character i'd roll constellations for, hopefully in future rerun ^-^
it is so extremely worth it to get yelan, at least for me. if you use any character besides ganyu regularly having both xingqiu and yelan is so valuable. i think most of the genshin playerbase is underestimating how powerful having a second xingqiu really is
@@dylanbranam8535 She is valuable but depends on your account. For f2p, most players are using National team. In which the bis hydro char is still Childe or if using Raiden national, Kazuha is better. The 2nd team is likely a freeze team, so Yelan won't synergise well too. Yelan is only worth to pull if you're maining pyro dps, which is only Hutao in terms of meta relevancy now.
At c6 tho. Her Autos become her Charge attack, which if she is built she really does a lot of dmg. I still think at c0 she is still a sub DPS, most characters become a DPS at c6. Not all tho.
I posted the times of the previous dps showdowns including eula and hu tao. If you don't want to look for it, basically eula wins on vishap and plant and yelan wins on magu kenki. I posted other characters times there too but don't want to type it all out again lol.
As always this just another biased comparison.. And heavily mislead new players.. 1. Not showing Ayato Attributes.. 2.a. Doing ONLY SOLO comparison while there is 3 slot provided for using buff support.. 2.b. BUT Pre-Buff n stuff to Raiden to kill the IceSalad, n comparing it with Yelan n Ayato with no buff 2.c. And called it "Solo Overworld Stuff" 3. Said any character is best or worse depend on the situation things BUT Showcasing an UNEFFECTIVE UNEFFICIENT WAYS to kill the IceSalad with its Shield on, that trully only advantage C6 Yelan because she can penetrate it with her 5x BTB that considered as heavy atk (like Kazuha Skill).. 4. Also there is no DISCLAIMER AT THE START of the video to EXPLAIN NEW(nor Noob) PLAYERS that unlike Raiden n Ayato..that Yelan (as a DPS) cannot utilize the broken Bennet or TTDS or TOTM or other ATK scaling buffer/support etc.. So in endgame context this unarguably will be significantly different story if this runs at full team comps.. Totally uneven comparison to be honest.

Really ridiculous imo. With Kazuha, I think ppl wasn't really sure on his viability? Maybe they feel like having Sucrose, you don't really need him. Or also could be it's before Ayaka. But for Kazuha, his role in team comps at least imo is much more bigger than Yelan. At least in my case, I did try to go for him but Mona trolled me. Then I decided that I'd rather use that guaranteed for Ayaka as I don't have a cryo dps and I have Venti lol. Now he can't dodge me anymore cos I do have a guarantee waiting for him.
If anyone is freaking out here, put it in perspective. This is absolute leviathan territory in terms of account spending. When you spend this much money in ANY gacha game, it is no longer in the realm of ‘difficulty’, it is now in the realm of how fast can you click E and Q. So when you hear “powercreep”, this affects literally nothing important at all, just the 1% bracket of accounts lmao.

@@MuhammadKharismawan no. I think you are gravely mistaken. Yelan C6 makes HER OWN normals become breakthrough barbs with increased damage. So this is not achievable even though she’s C0, this fast clear is only achievable if she is C6.
Yelan’s constellations are the definition of powercreep, seeing Raiden lose every single challenge was surreal. She probably beats even Eula at just how essy and fast her damage comes out, and the fact the doesn’t even need a million buffs…
Kind of. She doesn't have as many options for buffers. Basically she is balanced around the fact that things like bennett, sara, tenacity, ttds etc. do not apply to her at all. Meanwhile Ayato is defo a more full team oriented character. And Raiden even more so with her resolve mechanic and how she batteries and buffs the whole team. It makes sense that they would not perform as well here. And that would also be the case with ayaka when she would solo vs use her with shenhe.
thing is, Raiden's damage buff is capped at c3, the rest is just for team buffing constellations, while Yelan gets damage buff every. single. constellations.

@kitric that is highly subjective. Childe only performance best with International Kokomi is good not best. Yelan gives the best damage and is highly versatile in any team. Ayato gives medium damage but might be the most versatile unit in the game. In terms of beginner pull value Ayato and Yelan are way ahead.
@@CosmicBlitz001 no?? kokomi is still really good, they are probably same tier, but she isnt better than childe and ayato. kokomi is mainly meta for freeze team, which is good because freeze is really op, but mona is still an alternative even though worse. childe is the only character who can supply consistent hydro within a big aoe, since xingqiu is single target and other dont have that much of hydro application he is by far the best xiangling partner who is a broken off field dps, and he has high frontloaded damage and quadratically scaling aoe damage. Ayato is more versatile, he is not the best option in vape or freeze but he js very versatile fitting in all kinds of team. they all have their own strength but i would say childe is the best one, ayato and kokomi are quite close tho. yelan is better than all three

C6 Yelan is insane but fortunately it is irrelevant to 99% of the playerbase who can barely manage to get her C0 let alone the weapon and all of that copy. C0 Yelan is balanced and fun, that is all that matter to me

even more to add: the game is balanced around C0 5* Characters not around c6, so when you are buying c6 character you are losing the fun from actual gameplay, its all becames too ez and broken XD. So ye dont spend too much money on a game its not worth it.

I think it would be more fun to watch the bottom half of the abyss since the top half feels like a bunch of random mobs put together, but I guess this does showcase Yelan's flexibility.
@@driscol_534 Not really, overworld bosses die in seconds so they favour Yelan's broken burst from her C6. After her breakthrough barb shenanigans is over, her damage falls down significantly. Not to mention IWTL did precasting and waited until the end of her Burst for maximum damage buff to destroy the overworld bosses
But I don't think yelan has that many good supports. As a matter of fact raiden has c6 sara, kazuha,Bennett. ayato has kazuha, yun yun, and Bennett but yelan only has kazuha And other flex slots won't do nearly enough good as a c6 sara to raiden. Or maybe I am wrong? 🙃
Same I got c1 but i didnt wanna spend money on aqua simulacra rn. I have elegy and skyward harp for her depending on if i want support/dps. Ill get her bow on her rerun. Its that good
Old 5* Character = Meh. Average at best. New 5* Character = Easily destroy enemies with 1 tap. Old 4* Character = Gigachad. Top tier DPS, Top tier Support. New 4* Character = Very niche. Has a lot of caveat.
@@pearlblack9753 it actually just requires the use of two E's from Ayato's companions. He could just use Zhongli's E and Barbara's E (she literally deals almost no damage) and Haran's passive would be already activated, but the enemy wouldn't be damaged. It's the passive of his signature weapon so it is not the actual team fight. He used the passives of other weapons. Or he had to give them 1* weapons and only then compare the damage. Otherwise, what was the point of using his signature sword if ignore its passive? I think Ayato wouldn't be able to top c6 Yelan and Shogun because he's still a balanced character even with c6 (unlike Yelan) but I'd like to see his full potential
I feel like someone should point out that this abyss is quite literally designed to favor Yelan. The video was entertaining, but I think it would have been worth waiting for the next abyss to do a showcase like this.

Just remember that this is at c6. Yelan and Raiden especially, but Ayato aswell, are not focused on being on field dps characters at c0. I know iwtl mentioned this in the video, but again don't look for a character's c6 damage to pull for them at c0 as their constellations value can vary wildly
c6 yelan can still be a sub dps. she can still be paired with hutao or yoimiya at c6. Her 5 btb would only take a small margin of the time but it's more worth it since it deals huge amount of damage. After the 5 btb just swap out to your main dp

Because to be honest, a C0 Yelan cannot replace Xingqui on pyro based teams as it does lesser damage due to the loss on vape. But pairing them together solves it.. Tho yelan can somewhat take XQ spot on taser and some freeze variation (some in a way like kaeya rosaria freeze.. Can be ayaka freeze but its alot better to have Kokomi in there.. and totally not on ganyu freeze unless u want to auto attack on ganyu)

bro as an ayato main myself, he just simply don't have the tools to compete with these monsters, the fact is that ayato's talents don't offer anything meaningful to him, while both yelan and raiden have a huge benefit coming from their passive talents, in other words the balancing is terrible in genshin especially counting the fact that ayato is the only "main dps" between the 3, mihoyo hates male characters look th epoor xiao man

Yelan is truly amazing! With her I finally managed to 36* the abyss for the first time. Don’t regret pulling for her, and I’ve already frowned her Q next is her E!
The one thing missing from this though is that in all of the overworld comparisons it's comparing an unbuffed vs unbuffed - Yelan can't really do more damage than showcased here, whereas both Raiden and Ayato CAN do significantly more damage with reactions and buffs.
I mean with the potential of having an hp buffer in the future (which is highly possible since we have def buffer and atk buffer, many characters need more hp to do their thing better), she can do more damage.

I prefer it the way he does it versus what I mentioned., I only mentioned this as additional information which is relevant because Yelan cannot be buffed with attack buffs from Bennett, Sara, noblesse, or tenacity, or weapon effects which makes a big difference in damage! Just something I hope people considering when watching this, even though the damage from Yelan is shockingly high, her damage doesn't increase the same way due as others due to not having as much support from support. (Obviously Kazuha (but not freedom sword!), Mona, and Zhongli still buff her damage)

it’s kinda pathetic to only want to keep playing a character if they continually get buffed. xiao mains keep complaining about everything, you got an arti set but he’s still “sad”? he doesn’t need a tailored buffer cause he scales normaly off atk etc etc. use bennett/jean. he and itto have the same issues yet one is def-scaling.
@@heavenschickxx6376 I think the complaints from Xiao mains are pretty justified. His artifact set only increased his damage output by 10% with same substats, which is tiny considering you now need a 4 piece. In addition, yes he scales with Atk, but every attack buff in the game is too short for his burst, so the end of your burst always only hits like a wet noodle. And then even with his best teams and a fully whaled Xiao, a C6 Yelan without teammates is better. His best team (dps-wise) literally uses him as a VV support even though his kit is clearly main dps intended. It's sad how bad he got powercrept and a support that actually perfectly works with his kit would help him get into the current meta again.
The thing is when you're whale nothing is impossible. I see even Amber become menace. normal players like us don't even get artifacts as good as these unless you been farming for forever like a machine let alone C6 5 stars. He should have compared C0 and the thing with raiden is she supports the whole team rather than herself after C3. (I don't have ayato, so I can't talk about him) You can make her Dps and Subdps with even avg stats, and she'll carry u just fine and even battery your team.
I guess the only reason why people c6 characters is either they are a collector or a content creator or they just have too much money. Other than that, having a 5 star c6 makes an already boring game, even more boring
Yeah I also have C6 R5 3xcrown Yelan and she is just not balanced. No recent character is at C6R5 ofc but for Yelan it's especially true. - Insane single target damage - Insane AOE damage (her C6 barbs have a big AOE explosion) - All that damage is guaranteed, can't be dodged (think about it, all the other crazy burst like Ayaka's or Eula's can be dodged and/or require setup. Yelan it's all auto targeted) - High energy production, good burst cost (only 70) - Can do all of that from range - Stupidly tanky because of all that HP - Fastest character for overworld exploration - High synergy with Xingqiu and Hu Tao, very good units, and even lesser used ones like Mona - While not being dependent on them or anyone really, she isn't reliant on any other character at all I'm probably forgetting some other points but yeah point is she is just (too) cracked. I hope this doesn't mean Mihoyo is now okay with pure powercreep, I really like that Genshin is fairly reasonable with it.
I mean. That is yelan C6. It sure is a powercreep for the whales. But for the casual, which the majority of players are, she’s just a regular old 5 star that does well and did not powercreep every single dps.

You showcases and debates between the characters are chaotic and amazing,I always loved your videos I can even skip school for watch ur videos,Keep it up you're doing great❤️
That's probably why he left the shield up. There are good reasons to include them, though. 1) Doesn't have the immunity phase swapping bit like Magu Kenki. 2) Can be one cycled by pretty much everyone, so works as a one cycle showcase. 3) Even non-DPS characters can kill them without too long of a fight, so saves some IWTL sanity when doing something like the DPS Slowdown video. 4) He's done it from the start, so the data exists on youtube for every character he's covered. You can therefore look at older vids and compare and contrast characters that way (though new artifact sets/weapons could make some of those things outdated). 5) There are two of them, meaning he has a bit of an option to counteract the resist factor.
Yelan will be looked at similar to Raiden and Kazuha (though not as much of a gradient from the community, as more people saw Yelan's potential earlier than Raidens). She will be looked at as a character people should have wished for because she can completely change your account due to how kit works and how flexible she is.
Not really sure what you mean considering Raiden and Yelan’s banners were the most whaled on in the entire game. Really the only one who applies here is Kazuha. Yes Raiden was undervalued at release but everyone pulled for her anyway, I mean she was the Electro archon
Only if you had $$$ to drop on constellations and/or weapon. At c0 she seems to be pretty much equal to Xingqiu, and lacking his defensive utility... which is pretty much exactly what everyone expected, lol
@@CozyRogers I mean, not everyone has C6 XQ, and in many respects it takes just as much to get C6 XQ as it does to get C0 Yelan and her weapon. Her dmg is pretty nutty with her weapon. Often seeing 12-14,000 per burst arrow. I haven't tested XQ with Mistsplitter, but I'm pretty sure he does not reach those numbers per rainsword. Also, more than half the fun with her is pairing her with XQ.
@@pfortunato78 Nah, we've gotten 2-3 XQ's from events, and you can buy him in the shop for cheap as well. Weapon banners, on the other hand, are the bane of all low-spending players; they can set your account back several months if you aren't lucky. That's a huge risk to take for Yelan's weapon. Well... high-spenders were already bored because they can demolish everything in the game with ease. Now Yelan C6 seems to blow all other C6 characters out of the water. Spending money really will completely ruin your game experience forever at this rate -- it's like activating cheats that you can't de-activate.
This Ayato build doesn't do him justice at all. Mine is C6 as well with haran geppaku at R1 and I do a ton more dmg than you. This really makes me sad when someone does a comparison and gives the other 2 characters optimal builds. The dmg you do with him is what I do without buffs and without the haran geppaku effect. A C6 Ayato has to be on echoes because the effects synergize perfectly. The 2 450% dmg additional slashes activating on his second slash are on purpose because of the higher chance it will trigger together with the 4 piece set effect of an additional 70% basic attack dmg. And then the team you put around him is far from optimal, the best team and rotation for him is simple: Ayato Q Kazuha Q followed by his E then Yun Jin Q Bennet Q and then back to Ayato E and by the second slash the Regisvines are done. With this rotation my Ayato does easily over 100k on the second slash of his E, and thats without Benny at lvl 90 nor his Q at max nor Yun Jin at 90 or her Q at max and not even with her optimal set as well.
ok so, echoes has been proven to be worse than other sets second of all, it truly wouldnt have mattered simply because Ayato isn't ever going to be as powerful as a c6 r5 raiden i dont say this to hate on him, in fact i love ayaka/ayato team comp however a c6 r5 ayato wont out dps a c6 r5 raiden if we start to talk about c0 r1 then its another story but either way i do agree he didnt compeltly maximize his damage
@@ThornsDroighorn No it is not proven it is advised for those with high ping and because most players already have a good HoD set and beause most don't have C6 Ayato. Do you have a C6 Ayato? Because I think you either don't or you didn't bother farming EoaO because RUclipsrs made videos "oh here look HoD does a bit more dmg when EoaO doesn't proc". And yes in videos like this it matters a lot because EoaO is designed just to work together with c6 Ayato. In every other situation and on every other Character EoaO is bad.
When Yelan came out i already loved her fast paced gameplay because ive always wanted a bow character like this. She became my only C6 and oh boy the damage she gets is insane even with an R1 weapon. Even with just a simple C1 to get 2 charges for her E she already does more burst than most DPS characters which is insane and Im very happy that the lady i fell for turned out to be just as strong as her personality. The real disgusting part of Yelan is that you can just play her with Raiden and depending on which element is stronger against that oponent you can choose to backload either Yelan's rotation with her dmg buff or Raiden's burst. These two together are basically a flawless combo as Raiden allows Yelan to build even more dmg while Yelan allows raiden to focus more on Crit rate due to her dmg amp. And feels bad for Xiao getting rolled with the new set. I really hoped he would get some love..
Genshin impact: has a huge problem of people being way too strong and blasting through the game Also Genshin:*releases an insanely powerful character capable of clearing insane content on her own in seconds*
For c6 xiao vs c6 yelan: note in a more aoe perspective like ruin graders together or maybe the samurai kairagi together, xiao would close the gap. In the showcase is basically a c0 xiao with whale supports .But it is solo yelan vs a full team xiao so it still shows yelan strength. Well until xiao gets a support
But then you’d have to consider a full team for Yelan ie Kazuha, Bennet (for infusing Kazuha burst) and Mona. If Yelan doesn’t wipe the mob with one vaped E, the Breakthrough barbs will clean up.
Honestly I feel bad for Ayato man he's so fun to play especially in Hypercarry Ayato team but like they just gave him shit scaling like what 4.5 max HP extra damage compared to Yelan who has like 18-32% max HP damage it's kind of annoying and he doesn't even have that high attack his ascension stat is also crit damage making it extremely difficult to get a good ammount of Crit rate since crit rate is a bitch to get let alone crit rate and damage I love the new artifact set though it really puts out good damage but man I hope one day I can get the coveted 70 crit rate 240 crit damage I'm currently stuck on 194 crit damage

Exactly this. Raiden is not a "Solo DPS" character to begin with (she is certainly a DPS but not a solo-DPS as her kit dictates). Her entire kit resonates with the her team, recharging their bursts & enabling them to perform burst rotations back to back perpetually. This naturally means that the stronger your other characters are, the more benefit you get from Raiden's ability to recharge energy & she is an insane DPS herself on top of everything else. Whereas Yelan is literally a DPS focused unit who albeit being cracked herself doesn't really "compliment" her team so to speak.

I personally have tremendous issues with this dps showdown comparason. Overall it wouldn't change too much the results, however if we allow Raiden to full stack her ult. At least Ayato should have the second passive of his weapon triggered. Which is not the case. Therefore he has a weapon that is not even boosting his normal attacks....

Before Yelan I would struggle to clear abyss 3 star. It was always close around the 7 min mark and most of the time I had to restart to get energy to clear the floors. After Yelan I could clear the abyss easy no reset with over 8 mins easy. She literally steroid jacked up my account and she offers me so many different teams to get the job done. I am F2p by the way
One thing you mentioned at the end is that the lack of any external HP buffers probably made Hoyoverse make her kit so broken. She has basically an entire teams worth of power already baked into her kit minus resistance shreds. For Raiden there is Sara and Benett, Noblesse Freedom Sworn and many more. Just to give an example. All those things doesn't exist for Yelan. That's the reason Raiden and Ayato have to bring in their teams and she not. So Hoyoverse has balanced Raiden and Ayatos powerlevel around their best teams and for Yelan around her solo power. For that reason the test is flawed in my opinion. It ignores that fact how these characters are balanced. For that reason I had hoped to see on top a full team performance of Raiden and Ayato vs her solo performance. Only that would actually be fair. Against Primo Geo Vishap you would be able to precast all burst before Raidens and in that case she would be the clear winner. For other enemies it heavily depends if you can precast or not. And if you face one large enemy or not. Yelan though would in many cases still come out as winner but at least the showcase would feel more complete.
There isn't many buff she can benefit in a team rotation. Even god Bennett can't buff her and that's why Hoyoverse make her a whole package. You can't really buff her more unlike Raiden and Ayato.
Comparing solo Yelan with other full team dps doesn't make sense. Yelan can't get many buffs but that's why we pair her up with other sub dps like Xinqiu and a main dps like Hu Tao. Her being able to achieve most of her damage without needing a supporter to back her up is a positive not a negative especially considering that she's mostly a sub dps at c0. Her self-sufficiency only really becomes a drawback if in the future we get some kind of major powercreep support character. Like maybe a 7 star Bennet.
Well that doesnt change the fact that u need yelan c6 to get that kind of damage, raiden only need c3 and u will get the same kind of damage, u save like 50k primo out of 100k.
I knew it! I'm planning to triple crown my c0 Yelan as well. She's currently at 9 10 10 levels. I am really enjoying her gameplay and damage output as well. She's one of my current favorite characters in terms of gameplay (it was used to be Kazuha and Keqing only). I'm amazed to see this comparison

After watching I was like maybe I shouldn't have skipped yelan. Then I quickly realized I'll likely never get C6 anyway, so it was probably a good skip.
I swear C6 Yelan is the most broken character in game. - self sustaining meaning she can battery herself and have her burst off cooldown without needing other units to battery her - burst last 15 seconds long with only 3 seconds downtime - have very good hydro application - her double E ignores mitachurl shields - can buff herself or other characters - doesn't need bennet because she scales in hp - MASSIVE damage, even beats out raiden with significant difference in time - can be used on field or off field - can be slotted in on almost any team I don't think this is a good game design man. She literally has no restrictions. I think it's really unfair for other C6 units.
Then again it is a C6 character, which a vast majority of the players won't ever have. Thank god this game is strictly PvE or else it would be an actual problem

I always thought Yelan was underrated and couldn’t believe that people skipped her. This vid makes me want to spec her to be a main DPS now, holy hell. I still NEED Raiden tho. Her and Yelan would be a powerhouse team up. EDIT: Holy hell, the comments thread lit up. To answer some questions: I think she is underrated because a lot of people have been dismissing her as a Xingqiu replacement. I mean, I don’t think I’ve seen people attempt to solo Xingqiu through the abyss like Yelan did in this vid. I also think a lot of people are simply dismissing her for Kazuha, which makes me wonder if Yelan’s rerun will be even higher than her already successful debut numbers.

C6 Yelan is such a monster, almost no weaknesses at all. Energy isn't much of a problem with her 2 E charges, has high burst damage, also has high sustain damage, has one of the best elements, can be played both sub and main DPS, useful passive. And also to see that Yelan is one of the or the only one character who beats Raiden in all categories/challenges in these damage showdowns is insane.

The thing about this showcase is that for Raiden and Yelan IWTL made the most of their passives, but with Ayato, he didn’t actually take advantage of the Haran’s passive. It really cut his damage a lot

In some sitations it would have helped a lot, in other's the screen time of the other characters might have lead to a similar result. Noticeably for the Magu Kenki it would have barely been any different. But especially with he shield up Regisvine it would have helped him a lot, tho I doubt he would have beaten Raiden's time. For the shield down thing he might have shaved of a tiny bit. For the Vishap it's hard to say. With a higher damage potential and the passive he might have one cycled it for a similar time as Raiden's tho.
I noticed that too, AND in cases like the Maguu Kenki where teammates were used (c2+ Klee with, presumably, TToDS was used with Raiden) they weren't used for Ayato as well, instead Zhongli was used to activate the weapon's passive. Without Klee's def shred, and Thrilling Tales, being present for the support like with Raiden.
I'm sure Yelan still comes ahead of Ayato as her C6 seems absolutely broken for these showcases, but it could have been a bit closer IMO

Honestly i think Yelan is Yoimiya done right. Their playstiles are of course different, the similarities comes from how many tools they are given. Yoimiya uses only her E and Basic Attacks even tho she has a unique charge shot and burst, Yelan's kit was designed to let her actually use all of it, she can use her special charge shot, her burst and skill.

I think its just Yelan’s capability for speedrunning is so high that he triple crowned her. All 3 of her abilities contribute to her extreme burst and front loaded damage making her perfect for speedrunning

it is so extremely worth it to get yelan, at least for me. if you use any character besides ganyu regularly having both xingqiu and yelan is so valuable. i think most of the genshin playerbase is underestimating how powerful having a second xingqiu really is

@@dylanbranam8535 She is valuable but depends on your account. For f2p, most players are using National team. In which the bis hydro char is still Childe or if using Raiden national, Kazuha is better. The 2nd team is likely a freeze team, so Yelan won't synergise well too.
Yelan is only worth to pull if you're maining pyro dps, which is only Hutao in terms of meta relevancy now.

With Kazuha, I think ppl wasn't really sure on his viability? Maybe they feel like having Sucrose, you don't really need him. Or also could be it's before Ayaka.
But for Kazuha, his role in team comps at least imo is much more bigger than Yelan. At least in my case, I did try to go for him but Mona trolled me. Then I decided that I'd rather use that guaranteed for Ayaka as I don't have a cryo dps and I have Venti lol.

Kind of. She doesn't have as many options for buffers. Basically she is balanced around the fact that things like bennett, sara, tenacity, ttds etc. do not apply to her at all.
Meanwhile Ayato is defo a more full team oriented character. And Raiden even more so with her resolve mechanic and how she batteries and buffs the whole team. It makes sense that they would not perform as well here. And that would also be the case with ayaka when she would solo vs use her with shenhe.
thing is, Raiden's damage buff is capped at c3, the rest is just for team buffing constellations, while Yelan gets damage buff every. single. constellations.

@@CosmicBlitz001 no?? kokomi is still really good, they are probably same tier, but she isnt better than childe and ayato. kokomi is mainly meta for freeze team, which is good because freeze is really op, but mona is still an alternative even though worse. childe is the only character who can supply consistent hydro within a big aoe, since xingqiu is single target and other dont have that much of hydro application he is by far the best xiangling partner who is a broken off field dps, and he has high frontloaded damage and quadratically scaling aoe damage. Ayato is more versatile, he is not the best option in vape or freeze but he js very versatile fitting in all kinds of team. they all have their own strength but i would say childe is the best one, ayato and kokomi are quite close tho. yelan is better than all three

He could just use Zhongli's E and Barbara's E (she literally deals almost no damage) and Haran's passive would be already activated, but the enemy wouldn't be damaged. It's the passive of his signature weapon so it is not the actual team fight. He used the passives of other weapons. Or he had to give them 1* weapons and only then compare the damage. Otherwise, what was the point of using his signature sword if ignore its passive?
I think Ayato wouldn't be able to top c6 Yelan and Shogun because he's still a balanced character even with c6 (unlike Yelan) but I'd like to see his full potential

Just remember that this is at c6. Yelan and Raiden especially, but Ayato aswell, are not focused on being on field dps characters at c0. I know iwtl mentioned this in the video, but again don't look for a character's c6 damage to pull for them at c0 as their constellations value can vary wildly
c6 yelan can still be a sub dps. she can still be paired with hutao or yoimiya at c6. Her 5 btb would only take a small margin of the time but it's more worth it since it deals huge amount of damage. After the 5 btb just swap out to your main dp

Because to be honest, a C0 Yelan cannot replace Xingqui on pyro based teams as it does lesser damage due to the loss on vape. But pairing them together solves it.. Tho yelan can somewhat take XQ spot on taser and some freeze variation (some in a way like kaeya rosaria freeze.. Can be ayaka freeze but its alot better to have Kokomi in there.. and totally not on ganyu freeze unless u want to auto attack on ganyu)

Yelan is truly amazing! With her I finally managed to 36* the abyss for the first time. Don’t regret pulling for her, and I’ve already frowned her Q next is her E!
The one thing missing from this though is that in all of the overworld comparisons it's comparing an unbuffed vs unbuffed - Yelan can't really do more damage than showcased here, whereas both Raiden and Ayato CAN do significantly more damage with reactions and buffs.

I mean with the potential of having an hp buffer in the future (which is highly possible since we have def buffer and atk buffer, many characters need more hp to do their thing better), she can do more damage.

I prefer it the way he does it versus what I mentioned., I only mentioned this as additional information which is relevant because Yelan cannot be buffed with attack buffs from Bennett, Sara, noblesse, or tenacity, or weapon effects which makes a big difference in damage! Just something I hope people considering when watching this, even though the damage from Yelan is shockingly high, her damage doesn't increase the same way due as others due to not having as much support from support. (Obviously Kazuha (but not freedom sword!), Mona, and Zhongli still buff her damage)

@@heavenschickxx6376 I think the complaints from Xiao mains are pretty justified. His artifact set only increased his damage output by 10% with same substats, which is tiny considering you now need a 4 piece. In addition, yes he scales with Atk, but every attack buff in the game is too short for his burst, so the end of your burst always only hits like a wet noodle. And then even with his best teams and a fully whaled Xiao, a C6 Yelan without teammates is better. His best team (dps-wise) literally uses him as a VV support even though his kit is clearly main dps intended. It's sad how bad he got powercrept and a support that actually perfectly works with his kit would help him get into the current meta again.

The thing is when you're whale nothing is impossible. I see even Amber become menace. normal players like us don't even get artifacts as good as these unless you been farming for forever like a machine let alone C6 5 stars. He should have compared C0 and the thing with raiden is she supports the whole team rather than herself after C3. (I don't have ayato, so I can't talk about him)
You can make her Dps and Subdps with even avg stats, and she'll carry u just fine and even battery your team.
I guess the only reason why people c6 characters is either they are a collector or a content creator or they just have too much money.

Yeah I also have C6 R5 3xcrown Yelan and she is just not balanced. No recent character is at C6R5 ofc but for Yelan it's especially true.
- Insane single target damage
- Insane AOE damage (her C6 barbs have a big AOE explosion)
- All that damage is guaranteed, can't be dodged (think about it, all the other crazy burst like Ayaka's or Eula's can be dodged and/or require setup. Yelan it's all auto targeted)
- High energy production, good burst cost (only 70)
- Can do all of that from range
- Stupidly tanky because of all that HP
- Fastest character for overworld exploration
- High synergy with Xingqiu and Hu Tao, very good units, and even lesser used ones like Mona
- While not being dependent on them or anyone really, she isn't reliant on any other character at all
I'm probably forgetting some other points but yeah point is she is just (too) cracked. I hope this doesn't mean Mihoyo is now okay with pure powercreep, I really like that Genshin is fairly reasonable with it.

C6 Yelan burst added the OP shield breaker ability but C0 Yelan still very good and fun to play.
Shield breaker is not from C6 it is from brute force. C6 Eula can also 1 shot abyss lector's shield. It is just brute force

That's probably why he left the shield up.
There are good reasons to include them, though.
1) Doesn't have the immunity phase swapping bit like Magu Kenki.
2) Can be one cycled by pretty much everyone, so works as a one cycle showcase.
3) Even non-DPS characters can kill them without too long of a fight, so saves some IWTL sanity when doing something like the DPS Slowdown video.
4) He's done it from the start, so the data exists on youtube for every character he's covered. You can therefore look at older vids and compare and contrast characters that way (though new artifact sets/weapons could make some of those things outdated).
5) There are two of them, meaning he has a bit of an option to counteract the resist factor.

@@CozyRogers I mean, not everyone has C6 XQ, and in many respects it takes just as much to get C6 XQ as it does to get C0 Yelan and her weapon. Her dmg is pretty nutty with her weapon. Often seeing 12-14,000 per burst arrow. I haven't tested XQ with Mistsplitter, but I'm pretty sure he does not reach those numbers per rainsword.
Also, more than half the fun with her is pairing her with XQ.
@@pfortunato78 Nah, we've gotten 2-3 XQ's from events, and you can buy him in the shop for cheap as well. Weapon banners, on the other hand, are the bane of all low-spending players; they can set your account back several months if you aren't lucky. That's a huge risk to take for Yelan's weapon.
Well... high-spenders were already bored because they can demolish everything in the game with ease. Now Yelan C6 seems to blow all other C6 characters out of the water. Spending money really will completely ruin your game experience forever at this rate -- it's like activating cheats that you can't de-activate.

This Ayato build doesn't do him justice at all. Mine is C6 as well with haran geppaku at R1 and I do a ton more dmg than you. This really makes me sad when someone does a comparison and gives the other 2 characters optimal builds. The dmg you do with him is what I do without buffs and without the haran geppaku effect. A C6 Ayato has to be on echoes because the effects synergize perfectly. The 2 450% dmg additional slashes activating on his second slash are on purpose because of the higher chance it will trigger together with the 4 piece set effect of an additional 70% basic attack dmg. And then the team you put around him is far from optimal, the best team and rotation for him is simple: Ayato Q Kazuha Q followed by his E then Yun Jin Q Bennet Q and then back to Ayato E and by the second slash the Regisvines are done. With this rotation my Ayato does easily over 100k on the second slash of his E, and thats without Benny at lvl 90 nor his Q at max nor Yun Jin at 90 or her Q at max and not even with her optimal set as well.

Because I think you either don't or you didn't bother farming EoaO because RUclipsrs made videos "oh here look HoD does a bit more dmg when EoaO doesn't proc". And yes in videos like this it matters a lot because EoaO is designed just to work together with c6 Ayato. In every other situation and on every other Character EoaO is bad.

When Yelan came out i already loved her fast paced gameplay because ive always wanted a bow character like this. She became my only C6 and oh boy the damage she gets is insane even with an R1 weapon. Even with just a simple C1 to get 2 charges for her E she already does more burst than most DPS characters which is insane and Im very happy that the lady i fell for turned out to be just as strong as her personality.
The real disgusting part of Yelan is that you can just play her with Raiden and depending on which element is stronger against that oponent you can choose to backload either Yelan's rotation with her dmg buff or Raiden's burst.
These two together are basically a flawless combo as Raiden allows Yelan to build even more dmg while Yelan allows raiden to focus more on Crit rate due to her dmg amp.
And feels bad for Xiao getting rolled with the new set. I really hoped he would get some love..

For c6 xiao vs c6 yelan: note in a more aoe perspective like ruin graders together or maybe the samurai kairagi together, xiao would close the gap. In the showcase is basically a c0 xiao with whale supports .But it is solo yelan vs a full team xiao so it still shows yelan strength. Well until xiao gets a support
But then you’d have to consider a full team for Yelan ie Kazuha, Bennet (for infusing Kazuha burst) and Mona. If Yelan doesn’t wipe the mob with one vaped E, the Breakthrough barbs will clean up.
Honestly I feel bad for Ayato man he's so fun to play especially in Hypercarry Ayato team but like they just gave him shit scaling like what 4.5 max HP extra damage compared to Yelan who has like 18-32% max HP damage it's kind of annoying and he doesn't even have that high attack his ascension stat is also crit damage making it extremely difficult to get a good ammount of Crit rate since crit rate is a bitch to get let alone crit rate and damage I love the new artifact set though it really puts out good damage but man I hope one day I can get the coveted 70 crit rate 240 crit damage I'm currently stuck on 194 crit damage
to truly compare carractors i REALLY WISH peaople would do NO ARTIFACTS and just a default basic weapon, then AFTER that compare WITH artifacts and good weapons.

Exactly this. Raiden is not a "Solo DPS" character to begin with (she is certainly a DPS but not a solo-DPS as her kit dictates). Her entire kit resonates with the her team, recharging their bursts & enabling them to perform burst rotations back to back perpetually. This naturally means that the stronger your other characters are, the more benefit you get from Raiden's ability to recharge energy & she is an insane DPS herself on top of everything else. Whereas Yelan is literally a DPS focused unit who albeit being cracked herself doesn't really "compliment" her team so to speak.

I personally have tremendous issues with this dps showdown comparason. Overall it wouldn't change too much the results, however if we allow Raiden to full stack her ult. At least Ayato should have the second passive of his weapon triggered. Which is not the case. Therefore he has a weapon that is not even boosting his normal attacks....

Ayato is actually doing a very good job I’m very surprised that he does that much damage from his skill only
Tbf his burst dmg is quite negligible in the grand total of dpr. So his only good dps is from his skill.
Before Yelan I would struggle to clear abyss 3 star. It was always close around the 7 min mark and most of the time I had to restart to get energy to clear the floors. After Yelan I could clear the abyss easy no reset with over 8 mins easy. She literally steroid jacked up my account and she offers me so many different teams to get the job done. I am F2p by the way

One thing you mentioned at the end is that the lack of any external HP buffers probably made Hoyoverse make her kit so broken. She has basically an entire teams worth of power already baked into her kit minus resistance shreds.
For Raiden there is Sara and Benett, Noblesse Freedom Sworn and many more. Just to give an example. All those things doesn't exist for Yelan.
That's the reason Raiden and Ayato have to bring in their teams and she not. So Hoyoverse has balanced Raiden and Ayatos powerlevel around their best teams and for Yelan around her solo power. For that reason the test is flawed in my opinion. It ignores that fact how these characters are balanced. For that reason I had hoped to see on top a full team performance of Raiden and Ayato vs her solo performance. Only that would actually be fair. Against Primo Geo Vishap you would be able to precast all burst before Raidens and in that case she would be the clear winner. For other enemies it heavily depends if you can precast or not. And if you face one large enemy or not. Yelan though would in many cases still come out as winner but at least the showcase would feel more complete.
There isn't many buff she can benefit in a team rotation. Even god Bennett can't buff her and that's why Hoyoverse make her a whole package. You can't really buff her more unlike Raiden and Ayato.
Comparing solo Yelan with other full team dps doesn't make sense. Yelan can't get many buffs but that's why we pair her up with other sub dps like Xinqiu and a main dps like Hu Tao. Her being able to achieve most of her damage without needing a supporter to back her up is a positive not a negative especially considering that she's mostly a sub dps at c0. Her self-sufficiency only really becomes a drawback if in the future we get some kind of major powercreep support character. Like maybe a 7 star Bennet.
Well yelan still is capable of vaporizing and having VV elemental shred so i think its good

Well that doesnt change the fact that u need yelan c6 to get that kind of damage, raiden only need c3 and u will get the same kind of damage, u save like 50k primo out of 100k.

I knew it! I'm planning to triple crown my c0 Yelan as well. She's currently at 9 10 10 levels. I am really enjoying her gameplay and damage output as well. She's one of my current favorite characters in terms of gameplay (it was used to be Kazuha and Keqing only). I'm amazed to see this comparison
this comparison is at c6 though, I'm not sure if you will be able to see such crazy damage with a c0 yelan

@@Fr00stee Nah. A fully built Xingqiu with a 5 star weapon is doing roughly 40-50% less damage than a Yelan with her 5 Star Weapon.

My Yelan was only C1 and I almost solo’d Abyss 12 with her last abyss rotation. She’s a beast in general.

U used yelans and raidens passives but, u didnt use ayatos passives, truly dissapointed in your dissrespect.
Yelan is OP af lmao, her multiple instance of dmg is outrageously high and her perma burst up time... idk what to say else xD. Even though she is not my favorite but she's sure fun to play with.
After watching I was like maybe I shouldn't have skipped yelan. Then I quickly realized I'll likely never get C6 anyway, so it was probably a good skip.
Actually I didn't TRY to skip... I did pull, I just lost the 50/50 for a Mona. :P
Her C0 is already amazing. There's always a rerun if you lost 50/50.
I swear C6 Yelan is the most broken character in game.
- self sustaining meaning she can battery herself and have her burst off cooldown without needing other units to battery her
- burst last 15 seconds long with only 3 seconds downtime
- have very good hydro application
- her double E ignores mitachurl shields
- can buff herself or other characters
- doesn't need bennet because she scales in hp
- MASSIVE damage, even beats out raiden with significant difference in time
- can be used on field or off field
- can be slotted in on almost any team
I don't think this is a good game design man. She literally has no restrictions. I think it's really unfair for other C6 units.
Then again it is a C6 character, which a vast majority of the players won't ever have. Thank god this game is strictly PvE or else it would be an actual problem

In all honesty with the amount it costs to c6 a character they should all be broken behind belief at c6. That's why I never care about a c6 being busted because they spent thousands to get them all to c6.

EDIT: Holy hell, the comments thread lit up. To answer some questions: I think she is underrated because a lot of people have been dismissing her as a Xingqiu replacement. I mean, I don’t think I’ve seen people attempt to solo Xingqiu through the abyss like Yelan did in this vid. I also think a lot of people are simply dismissing her for Kazuha, which makes me wonder if Yelan’s rerun will be even higher than her already successful debut numbers.

I have both they are unstoppable together I built her to try and just max her dmg lots of HP CD and CR because Raiden helps with her ER issue

Xiao constellations are a joke idk who tf thought of it at all tbh but in order for it to be triggered at single target might also be too op just for 1 constellation at the same time so they need a way to balance it out using the C2 and C4 also

It costs $1,000 to get C6 5*. Not to mention that this is a single-player game. Changing Xiao's C6 to trigger at one enemy is completely fine.

That’s the thing, Yelan’s own C4 also makes her the only hp% buffer in the game, and 40% at that. She has her very own Bennett built in.
