Gets a little Stuck rephrasing/ talking about the Bypass , could have used some Editing- I though I was in a Mobius Loop. Otherwise Solid.

I sold my MS a couple years ago because I didn’t know enough about synths. I watched this video back then and when the ‘nuts’ popped up I remembered lol. I’m so happy to have this again now that I know my way around a synth. Glad this video is still up. Needed a refresh on the the great features. Thank you

Great device. Just got mine delivered a few days ago and it is a big fun to use. Still need much to learn but just as normal... I think i’ll buy the original circuit too and hook them together. Then Mininova + bs2 can be used for the extra notes when the circuits are set... yummie.

Old video, but man this synth has a ton of features. They really went crazy on the options in the sequencer. Sounded great a couple times and got dirty. Would be great to explore and sample.

You sold me once that distortion kicked in. This thing could be the next TB-303, holy FRICK does that sound cool.
It took me years to gel with my MonoStation. It was the mod track and mod matrix that won me over - much more precise than motion control.

Recently acquired a mono station , use it in conjunction with 3 circuits. Perfect for a live setup, love the C.V outputs.
Routed the Moog Minitaur in the mono station input to layer both, sounds incredible.
As a beginner, there Are too many things and functions unexplained or too fast explained.
Great demo! Like the versatility!
But...the Distortion knob should have been a delay or reverb.

Super dope overview. I've been trying to figure out differences between this and regular circuit and now I get it. I see it as a bass/mono synth with cool sequencer (not a groovebox).
Yeah, that's exactly right. Plug in a MIDI keyboard and it feels a lot more like a regular synth. It's basically an analogue monosynth with an amazing sequencer as a nice bonus. I think it didn't sell well because nobody knew what it really was or who it is for

Nope. your best bet is to have it synced up to something that does or you can put down a simple single note on the 1-5-9 and 13 step to give you a simple metronome
It occurs to me that learning about the Mono Station is like learning about sex- we get a mish-mash of incomplete information from different sources. Some from parents, some from our peers, some from sex ed class, and also religion, media and personal experimentation. Surely the Mono Station cannot be so mysterious, uncomfortable, embarrassing, magical and powerful as all that. And now it's discontinued and new information is getting scarce. Time to RTFM I guess...

Does the mono station has a function like the circuit ( 1.7) "Create Tied/Drone Notes - Each step now has a tie-forward setting, so it’s now possible to tie notes together in order to create drone notes and long ambient pads." ?

The interface/design is clearly exceptional. But what do you think about it sonically? Seems a bit limited to simple blips/bleeps from the demo.
Originally i felt this way too, but after spending some time with it and really focusing on a specific sound rather than exploring i was able to get some useful basslines, drum sounds, leads, and ringmod tones to sample in other gear.
Is it normal to "hear the lfo" in headphones with the volume knob turned all the way down..? I can hear a weak sound bias after a patch pad is pressed when volume is all the way down and i can also hear the lfo modulating this weak sound.. its kind of annoying but is it how it's supposed to be? Its just in some patches, some are quiet..
(6) Can I route noise through the amp env when bypassing the filter? (7) Can I turn off keytracking per oscillator? (8) Can button presses can be sequenced too? (9) Is CV Volt/Oct, Hz/Volt or (hopefully) both? (10) I assume the Circuit Mono Station and Circuit can send each other program change info to change patterns/sessions remotely? (11) Do knobs and buttons send CC? And finally (12) Is the MIDI channel fixed as on Circuit? Thanks, Enrique!
Can you explain the sequencer steps a little more? Each sequence is only 16 steps, correct? And you can chain sequences, with Osc 1 able to chain 16 patterns (so, 256 steps)?
Hello Enrique , is it possible to control another expander or a synth in a rack ( like thé synth built-in a novation circuit , micromonsta or erebus... ) by sending notes via midi out of that mono station?

Thanks for posting, Enrique! The Mono Station caught my eye when it was released, and though I haven't pulled the trigger yet, I still have my eye on it. Nice combination of features, and who doesn't (always) need another sequencer? :) Great exposition of key features.

Swaroop K man I hope so, at this point I'm not sure. I think with the way circuit was made it might be difficult to implement but the team constantly surprises me haha
hey ricky have a question, want send midi note ( clip ) from ableton live to mono station via usb.. its possible? I've tried several times but it doesn't work, but when mono station sends midi signal to ableton works well
You have it set up to receive midi information? When turning it on hold down shift and make sure all the LEDs along the bottom row of pads are turned on

@@RickyTinez I got the monostation and thanks for the reply...i am confused on one thing...every time i go from pattern to pattern i get a different sequence..that's cool but it's the same sound...if i go to patch,,,i get a different sound from patch to patch but same sequence...hmm...i am assuming i can create a pattern with a specific sound and save...then in my 2nd pattern i can do a different sequence and different sound and then save that..therefore each pattern is playing different sequence AND sound...it doesn't do something...can't see anything in the manual for that...can you help understand concept of this unit?

Great question! As of right now with this firmware no, hopefully they implement it further down
With the 1.2 firmware you can change the patch as part of the sequence.
Did Novation stop building the Mono Station? A pity.
Yep it's been discontinued and they've abandoned the firmware for it as well

That's a great question. I'm not 100% sure. I do know that is does hit audio range and 1.6khz sounds about right.

What's good man, this is a strict Analog Mono Synth so no samples or drum sequencing on this one. That'll be "Circuit" that one has a bunch of stuff crammed in.
I can't believe they discontinued this. That's crazy because it's so damn cool in every way. It must not have sold for some reason.
It is a very high quality build. My guess is that it turned out a bit too expensive, and they can't turn a profit om them. The demand for this kind of machine isn't high enough to motivate manufacturing a second batch that has to be sold at the same high price.
@@JH-lo9ut it's a bit hit and miss with what's going to catch on, but i would have thought it was a very unique and quite complete analog box well worth the original asking price. I'll get one some day for sure
