Those who would trash your city openly laugh at you, Ted. They have tried you time and time again and have found you lacking.
Ted is a gross weakling. He’s allowed Portland turn into the seventh circle of hell.
I’m sure I have more testosterone than he does.
You're thinking of 2020, when "Tear Gas Ted" escalated the situation and got people killed. This round has been almost depressingly peaceful, on both ends, especially compared to places like UCLA or Columbia.
@@warmwestwind "Peaceful" -- Peaceful as in trashing and heavily damaging, of all things, the Portland State University library to the point that they will not be able to open it again until the Fall. That's quite the definition of peaceful that you have there.
Portland hasn’t learned anything apparently.
This on a story about how dramatically different Portland's approach has been to the most recent similar situation. The American people are not intellectual, to put it mildly.
@@warmwestwind Americans are dumb and portland is degenerate
to a wild degree..
@@warmwestwind naw just the ones living in and running Portland and other similar cities that allow illegal forms of so called “protest”
as long as you have a blue state nothing changes
How many of the protesters actually students. The police not only allowed them to retake the library, they allowed many to escape in the melee between the 1st & 2nd breach. The damage should be paid for by the protesters, all, guilt by association. Wheeler is the police commissioner.
The buck stops with him. What a cluster f___.
The SPD didn’t do anything about when the local antifa thugs decided to damage private businesses on the May day celebrations. And their only response is we have videos of what they did. But hard to charge anyone when you are covered head to toe in black.
More to the point... how many were FACULTY? Let's have names.
All planned? I assume yes.
Police have to be invited in. They were delayed. Do not buy in to blaming the police. The leaders delayed. Incompetence by PSU.
You need a student ID to get in the library in the first place. This keyboard warrior attitude is exactly what leads to civil unrest in this town.
Didn't Ted get his butt kicked in 2020? Same story, different day. Stop voting for this!
Ted you are a horrible mayor. Portland is a loser City. I'm so sick and tired of being ashamed of the state that I'm from.
@thecreek9280 saying the least
Di DA charge, no bail, trial, jail time? J6 people who did nothing wrong, invited in by Capital police, walked peacefully between the velvet corded walkway, then left....3 years in jail.
say with me ready ......BLUE STATE LIBERALS
You know it's bad when even Ted Wheeler calls you "delusional!"
Surprised Ted didn’t join them at the library; Like he did outside the courthouse.
I'm not. You can protest the US in this country but you can't protest israel
Students need to sue these colleges and administrators who allowed danger onto the campuses, as well a tuition refunds.

A progressive university in a progressive state. Vote for progressive Democrats if this is what you want your community to become.
why do these students even need the library? they don’t learn anything anyway
Damage small businesses means no tax revenues for the state!
So at this time, HOW many students who TRESSPASSED the library have had their VISAs revoked???
How do I put it - that's kind of racist zenophobic nonsense. Actually, IF there were some Arab-AMERICANS involved in PLANNING the original protests, including the well-organized group of speakers on 4/29, I saw little evidence of them in the library later (yes, I spent a few hours there talking with people and observing before the first police entrance). And if you look at the list of people arrested, I don't see a single Arab name out of 20 or so people, except for one possible one. So enough with the fingerpointing at 'foreigners.' Most of the property-violence wing of anarchists here in Portland actually seem to be White people, born in the United States, of various ages. PS the library had a fairly generous pile of anarchist-related pamphlets in it. Which is not proof of original sin. I'm sure there are many kinds of anarchists, and many would never engage in the kind of puerile counter-productive vandalism which we've seen so much of in Portland.
I'm glad to see that Mayor Wheeler, aka. the Police Commissioner, did not decide to join the violent protesters this time --- unlike when he did that time at the PDX Courthouse. Now that's a mayor who is making some serious progress!
Finally you discuss whats always about the violence and destruction...outside agitators - "Black Bloc" anarchists.
DA is openly antifa. Which probably should be illegal. This woman is a clown
Absolutely no specifics. Platitudes only.
No one believes KGW's advocacy?
You literally let antifa do this again , and you lost ... we all did
A lot of businesses are leaving Portland anyway.
Ted Wheeler saying this about that.
Nice job making excuses for them.
Reminder to Portlanders that Sam Adam’s is an advisor for Wheeler after running and failing on the East Coast Politics after the false SA accusation.
Adams broke with Wheeler months ago, so you might want to keep on top of things better? But yeah, Adams sux 2!
That accusation wasn't false
@@marmac7619 a quick Google search says Adam’s is running for MultCo no doubt with the help from his time with Wheeler, still bad for Oregonians either way.
@@terenceflanagan1225 link 🔗? The kid lost the case because he tried resurfacing legal drama when Adam’s came back to Portland and because of that alone Adam’s was able to get back into Portland Politics cause the kid couldn’t back up what he was putting down, so yes FALSE Accusation.
Okay, Sam🤣
Where are American flags? Support Police, give them respect and funding.
Didn't your March with these blue state voters last time TED 😂. Obama said change is coming 😂why would you not believe him . They are telling you what they gonna do😂
Bonfire of the vanities
So over the head of 99.9999 % of Portland state students let alone its rube population but so accurate
Interview the students, maybe for two sided story? Journalism?
Hmmm. I wonder how this employees at businesses who have CLOSED AND KEFT in the last few years felt.
Another Blue dumpster fire.....😢
I love that the taxpayers if Portland and Oregon get to pay for the repairs 🤣🤣🤣
DEMOCRAP DUMP
Ann Cudd should resign or be called to step down.
What about all of the schools, homes, and hospitals that have been leveled in Gaza? I guess a library being vandalized is far more tragic news
One doesn't justify the other. The protestors actually affected a lot of people's lives negatively. They're no heroes, that's for sure, just vandals with an excuse.
How the Sam he$$ is destroying a college library in the U.S. going to help anyone in Gaza?
More copaganda. 🤮
Too little, too late. Nothing new here.
Believe me 99% of Americans feel the same way…at least those with a brain.
finally a police chief who tells it like it is instead of getting up there grandstanding. keeping the workers mired in problems amongst themselves is one of the largest ways in which the capitalist class attacks our mobility. another way, such as pricing a large portion of society out of access to car insurance, and forcing EV's on them when they can't afford them are also common methods of oppression.
Well BRAVO! They all work for the State, so what do we expect. And the 'State' (including nationally) wants these 'eyesores' to come to an hasty end. And i can't possibly opine on what i think about how all this was handled, because i wasn't there.
But what i do know - is the game that is played - & who will always come away smelling like the rose, as opposed to the misinformed, 'out of control' - belligerent combatants. Guess that's why we call it the "ROSE" City. He who owns the media, always controls the narrative. I have been in protests before, & been tear gassed while totally peaceful, not even blocking traffic; & with ZERO warning, but STILL, the police will be handed the mics & say they had to do it because we were just too disruptive & failed to heed their warnings, & yadayada .... Meanwhile, another Palestinian child died of starvation today.

Not students. Oregon country isn't democratic. This isn't about pro Palestinian or antisemitism, it's about pro genocide or anti genocide. Just a sad situation for news sensasaluzism and false narrative. The whole world backs those kids actually keeping a good cause.
No we do not Nazi sympathizer
Nobody's noticed the Uyghurs?
The ugyers seem to be doing just fine, far better than the people of Gaza or the west Bank. The only ones who seem to bring them up are western leaders who at the same time fund Israel's actual genocide of Palestinians and cheer thier efforts proudly.
China has allowed independent 3rd party investors into Xinjiang with no evidence of a genocide occurring. Maybe you should visit the area to confirm this before casting such accusations. That is if you can even find Xinjiang on a map without assistance, or name 1 city in the region.
The only false narrative is that the jihadist and the rioters are innocent.
Tommy, I think many people around PSU including students strongly support protest against what Israel has been doing in Gaza, and their occupation in general. Some of us just didn't like seeing the library trashed, and it seems likely that many people inside the library had little to do with the original organizers.
It's really striking how almost no one mentions here the atrocities perpetrated by Israel in their bombing campaigns in Gaza over the last 20 years or so. It's not even 'just' this one, which constitutes mass murder, or Operation Cast Lead around 2009. There have been at least two other campaigns. And it is not unknown for Israel to break a ceasefire with Hamas repeatedly in order to provoke Hamas or other groups into firing some rockets, and then use this as an excuse for massive deadly retaliation and destruction of infrastructure. In fact, then-Major General Gadi Eizenkot of the IDF (later chief of staff) in 2008 referred to the "a-Dahiya doctrine," according to which the massive Israeli destruction wrought in the a-Dahiya district of Beirut in 2006 "will happen in every village from which Israel is shot at. We will subject it to disproportionate force and cause enormous damage and destruction... This is not a recommendation, this is the plan. And it has already been approved." This is from a 10/3/08 article "I Have Enormous Power, I Won't Have Any Excuses," in the Israeli (Hebrew) paper "Yediot Aharonot," quoted in an essay by Yaniv Cogan, a student at Tel Aviv University, in "Deluge: Gaza and Israel from Crisis to Cataclysm," ed. by Jamie Stern-Weiner (2024).
Weiner is a scholar in Middle East Area studies in the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies. And while it really shouldn't matter, I will wager that both he and Cogan are of Jewish background. My friends, let us educate ourselves.
And let us bear things like this in mind before we discredit a protest movement because of a minority of people who can be said to have hijacked the PSU protest in spite of opposition from some of the original protesters.
I shop often at Safeway on SW 10th and Jefferson her in Portland:I noticed there was an absence of homeless drug addicts that surrounds this grocery store during the protests on the PSU Campus.
I believe that the majority of these protestors weren't students of PSU , but were a bunch of homeless thugs and bullies who are opportuntinists and should feel the full wrath of Portland Oregon's law and judicial system.
I guess you missed the part where they stopped allowing PPL to bring their bottles in, for their cash refunds, which the city determined was where they were getting their drug $$; so that once they couldn't just go from turning in bottles, to purchasing their drugs, they would just leave the area. Well, that seems to be working. So that's why they aren't around there as much anymore; has nothing to do with them having run over to wreck havoc on PSU. You need an education. Seems you already had a narrative you wanted to run with, regardless knowing much of anything.
Bums are the new peoples army
