For a carry gun im a big fan of DA/SA guns. Thr DA trigger works as a safety and that double stike is handy if grappling in a swlf defense. You don't always have 2 hands for tap rack.
I like the TH series. There aren't many da/sa options for budget prices. I was afraid Taurus would discontinue the TH line after the wild success of the G series stuff, so I'm really glad to see them lean in here!
Recently found your channel. I really appreciate the quality of your videos. I have had a few 10mm of the years and have been considering another. I prefer hammer fire over striker fire and this is very intriguing. My current woods walker is a 1911 .45 but again looking at going with a 10mm. Looking forward to more videos on this.
This has great features, but it is nothing more than a TH45 with a different barrel and extractor. That's it. Wonder why it makes a difference? Look at the older histories of the first 10mm products that Colt and S&W put out. They made that mistake too, they learned that lesson decades ago, Taurus must have missed that memo. There are similar features on Tanfoglio, I'd look at them if you're in the market. They're 10s designed as 10s, not modified 45s.
@@JD-tn5lz thanks for the input. I’ll be sure to take a look. Have to admit, lately I’ve been jumping on the band wagon with new offerings. Haven’t had any issues but I’m also not shooting 500 rounds at a time. Take them out for function and sighting in but most of the time they sit in the safe.
@@felixbelmontez2872yeah, I do that too. I own more than I care to admit or will ever use, I always seem to gravitate to the same three or four on range days. There are worse things to spend my money on, but many better ways to spend my time. Hence, safe queens.
It's a cool gun the only issue I have with it is MSRP, the Taurus TH10 is only a few dollars cheaper than a Glock 20 and M&P 2.0. If I had the choice and $600 in my pocket I would much rather have a used Glock 20/M&P over the TH10 or spend $70 more and buy a brand new Glock 20/M&P. I'm sure this will be a much more enticing deal once they are on the used market but MSRP just isn't looking appealing to me.
@@eze9057yes, but with the Glock 20 you have four huge advantages, all worth much more than $200. One, it'll work. Two, it is a 10mm handgun designed as a 10mm handgun, not just a 45 with a different barrel and extractor. Three. You can often get as much on resale of a Glock 20 as you paid new, or nearly so. Never will happen with a Taurus. Four. There are great reasons why used Taurus' are so cheap.
@@destroyingdadxx2274let's see what you think after you put $5k or $6k of 10 through it, if it even gets that far, which it won't. No, not talking PPU or American Eagle stuff.
Thank you. I used to measure triggers until I matured enough as a shooter to realize that u less it's under 3 or over 10lns it really doesn't matter unless you're physically disabled. The important aspect of a trigger comes from feel: controllability, predictability, travel, etc.
Other words if you like the TH45 you will like the TH10 I am personally not a big Taurus Fan but I enjoy these videos! Great video once again thank you!
Thank you for sharing this video. If someone is interested in a 10MM it's probably a good starter pistol. You and Teya have a great weekend. Thank you both 🙏
I was worried about hitting the mag release on my ambi Ruger American compact 45, but when you have a full magazine in the gun the mag release is very tough to hit even when I’m trying to hit the button. Still love that gun though
Good video of yet another Pricepoint gun, and a 10mm at that. Great features at a good price. What could go wrong? Here is the deal folks. Unless it's an established duty gun manufacturer (and no, I'm not talking about guns for a Bolivian PD somewhere in the jungle) you have to pay a penalty with 10mm. Many manufacturers (are you listening Fusion, Tisas, Girsan, etc.?) will use the same frame, many of the same slide parts, and many of the same frame internals for a 10mm that they do for their 45acp offerings. That just doesn't work well, Colt and S&W both found that out the hard way decades ago. That Taurus is using parts marked for both 45 and 10 on these should send up a huge red flag. If HK or Sig or Glock or S&W did (Sig and Glock actually do for some parts) this, I would trust them. Taurus? No, are you crazy? Will this thing work? Probably just fine with the softer loads and for people who don't actually shoot high volume or train hard in general. The simple fact is, those buying a 10mm with budget as number one considation also don't have the budget to shoot 1000rds of 10 every month. Taurus knows this. If you can't afford a better gun, you won't afford much ammunition. Would I take this thing into my Alaska backyard? Oh HELL no. Love the features, but pricepoint isn't where you look first when you're looking for a backyard rural Alaska sidearm.
Folks who buy budget 10mm are also folks who have never seen the results of a bear mauling. Interchangeable parts between 45 and 10? No, unless somewhere on that sidearm is the word Glock or Sig or of another reputable duty firearms manufacturer. Taurus? No. H*** NO. Not this rural Alaskan.
@@johnneilson377thing is, all this is just a TH45 with a different barrel and extractor. That's just a problem waiting to happen. Lots of 10mm sidearms (think inexpensive 1911s) have issues with hotter loads and hard lead is just a no-no for polygonals. Don't buy a cheapie 1911 10mm (same issue of 45 v 10 parts/design) and if you want to feed it a steady diet of HC lead there are aftermarket conventionally rifled 10mm barrels available for Sig, Glock, and S&W.
@@GBGuns as much as I appreciate structures creating an industry standard, no one is bound to follow it or by it. Also, we're talking about a firearm that is quite obviously designed and assembled as a 45, merely thinly adapted to 10mm. No one invited 9+p into the discussion. There is a documented history of problems available to anyone wanting to do the work regarding the initial Colt Delta and S&W 10** offerings. Unless a firearm is already stoutly built as a 45acp (think Glock or Sig) it has no business just being swapped over to 10. Yes, I will trust my own personal observations over what I'm told. Every day. Plus frankly, though many never will, many do buy 10mm just so they can experience Underwood ammunition. Just a case in point, I have never seen (maybe I've just never looked for) any 10mm ammunition labeled as +P, though in a real sense there are many. Cheap 10mm sidearms + hard use= broken bushings, broken locking lugs, and sometimes even cracked slides. To say the least. So. Again, Taurus put some great operating features on the TH10, features I prefer except for two things. It says "Taurus" on it and it's readily apparent that they took a cheap route on it, like usual. It's little or no different than a Tisas or Girsan 1911 offering. A pricepoint gun meant for someone who not just won't spend proper money to buy a proper tool and won't stress it by using it much...they know the guy who won't or can't spend real money also doesn't spend $1000s a year on one caliber of ammuniton either.
I brought up 9mm +p because Taurus build their semis to handle it, and that's a greater pressure than 10mm. You haven't seen 10mm +p because it doesn't exist; there is no SAMMI standard for it.
