Who ever shared this..... THANK YOU!!!!❤. I saw this when it aired. Wrote her name on my bed room wall. A few years ago, I added her to my pay list. Who ever had posted the music, took it down. Made me so mad and sad. Now i found her agian! SO HAPPY ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't know why she's not a superstar - a great singer, a great songwriter, a good guitarist and very attractive and full of life - has a charity too.
I was in Tish's band, early 80's in Red River, New Mexico. Tish Hinohosa (Acoustic guitar and Lead vocals), Craig Barker (bass), Dave McGill (piano), Leroy Featherston (drums), Myself, Brian Cairns (Acoustic Lead Guitar).
Brian Cairns, you don’t how bummed that makes me feel. I was a sophomore at Questa HS in 84-85 and lived in the Moly cabins at the Columbine campground, between Questa and Red River. I bought her “Homeland” tape on a whim in 89 or 90 while I was at NMSU and have loved her ever since. I only wish I had known of her a few years earlier.....
Isn't she wonderful. Brings back memories from the early 90's, Just awesome. My wife also crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico almost 40 years ago. The rest is history. Come to Long Island, ms. Hinojosa!
Tish's performance on ACL was my first introduction to her talent and when I became smitten with her voice. Her music give me a sense of peace and happiness.
Years ago her appearance on ACL had the same impact on me . . she evokes a beautiful calm, and sense of peace. I love her voice, particularly in her song The Real West
I used to go listen to Tish when she played at a club in downtown San Antonio, upstairs from The Landing, I believe. She was still a teenager then, I believe. It was in about 1975 or 76. Have always been a fan.
The first time I heard this song was part of light show reflected against the facade of the San Fernando mission in San Antonio TX. In I think was 2018. Once I learned who it was, I’ve been a fan ever since.
I always have liked Tish's singing.Saw her a few times on Ralph Emery's show one episode it had rained and Ralph was interveiwing her and the Hager Twins were making faces behind her back (rude) . Just never forgot it he had already interveiwed her and remembered nothing of their previous interview..Tish seems like a very sweet person
Tish....seems like yesterday I as watching and tapping this on austin c.l. that must of been 25 years ago? no way! If I could only go back to that time, my mother and I watched your video and she fell in love w/that tex/mex song, she said it ws beautiful, we're from w. texas, I told mom, that if I ever got married it would have to be someone like you, very precious, bitter sweet memories, I had never seen such a beautiful woman with a voice like an angel, I just can't get a grip on the time thing
I was a young Navy Officer stationed in Corpus Christi, TX in the late 80's where I saw her perform and fell in love right then and there with her voice and music.
Can you upload Tish Hinojosa performing a half-hour set on Austin City Limits during Season 15 in 1990? It has the full-length closing credits with "London Homesick Blues".👍
Mr. Hudson, I'm bound for England in the future and I don't know how to take the westside of San Antonio with me except through music like this. I doubt there is a lot of Tex Mex music there. (crying) 😢 "San Antonio was home, on the westside of town."
@McTurbo1300 My town is 300,000,and 50 miles south is 1 million and 50 miles north is 3 million. And then there's the internet and tv,I think I've gotten a pretty good sample.
I first saw and heard Tish on Austin City Limits on TV and became a huge fan of this great talent! More recently I caught her act at Uncle Calvin's Coffeehouse in Dallas. She sang and played guitar solo. I had the great honor of shaking her hand and chatting with her after the performance! :)
Tish is a great singer and I love this song.If any Spanish speakers could post the words of the two lines in the last verse and what they mean that would be great, thanks.

are you, "young Maria? What a wonderful song of love, struggles, and the obstacles that couldn't stop them because God was on their side. peace
Who came here after reading about her on HONY?
Me !!
Me!!!
ME too!
Me
wow! me too!! I'm happy i did. As a child of Mexican immigrants, that rhythm and accordion pulls at my heartstrings
She brings a solid view of the magic of the Rio Grande and lower valley
I don't know why she's not a superstar - a great singer, a great songwriter, a good guitarist and very attractive and full of life - has a charity too.
I understand she pretty much quit music when she got married and moved to Germany
She did quit - I saw her in Cambridge Mass last year and this year.@@janetownley
Was amazed that this popped up on my feed. One of my favorites and then she disappeared. Never knew what happened to her.
Tish is still performing and recording. Check out her album "West" from a few years ago.
First saw this in the 80’s or 90’s and was instantly hooked!!!!
This song brings back a lot of my memories.

I've always loved Tish, as a pedal steel player it would be my dream to play behind her. Your a superstar not according to Nashville standards.
The GREAT Flaco!
Wow! Puro westside!
That's where I was born and raised. I went to Lanier High School. Dad knew Flaco from the 40s, cool guy. Tish - great singer!

She is a great talent.
Goooood ........ (Sa - Italy)
I am from the UK but Tish Hinojosa reached me in the 90's from across the pond. I understood and digested her message.

She lived in Austin Texas in West Austin where I lived. Talked to her a couple of times. My ex wife knew her better.
