i did say this year i wanted to attempt to go for more shiny legendary pokemon; and cobalion was one of the targets in mind for me this year! what a stressful hunt, i was worried we might have a shiny fail on our hands but luckily we pulled through! TuT i hope you all enjoy! ♡

Congrats! I caught my shiny Virizion while watching this video! If you're worried about a legendary running out of PP, you can use a Trevenant with the Harvest ability holding a Leppa Berry. Trevenant learns both Skill Swap and Trick, so you can give Harvest to the opposing Pokemon and then use Trick to give it a Leppa Berry. Now it will never run out of moves!

Whoa 3'000+ is nothing to laugh about. That is one big number and as challenging as full odds soft reset legendaries are, especially in Sword and Shield I just gotta say I'm so happy for you! ❤️ I imagine it must have been quite the grind how much hard work you had put into this hunt and I'm proud of you for it.
Well done for getting this cool an amazing legendary and good luck on your next legendary galar hunt. I wish you the best. Cobalion is definitely an amazing shiny, it's really cool. :) I just love those glow in the dark colours.

Congratulations on getting shiny Cobalion and congratulations on getting 13k subscribers. Also here is an advice buttercup if you are hurting for other 2 you should do the camp method. You should check it out on RUclips guide much better than soft resetting. I got all the Tiro by doing this method so you should do it it’s easy. Honestly In black and white I barely see any difference between its regular and shiny form but 3d models I really like it ( here is a good tip for use “ heal pulse” to heal the enemy or a set up like skill swap with “harvest”and give it and berry for HP or PP with “switcheroo”)
I'm only on 530 srs on my Virizon as I've only recently just started reseting for it again today. Soooo I've just been building a written team for yet another official tournament that is going to start pretty soon. Sign up begin today and I plan to make a sun team ^^
I can definitely relate to feeling how special these shiny legendaries are, since soft reseting for them for a really long time does make the achievement of finding them and finally having them in your collection makes them all that more rewarding and very amazing to have. So that's the reason why they're so special, since it's a full odds hunt.
At least that's how I feel. And I was disappointed when they decided to shiny lock the synchro legends in SV cause I really wanted to shiny hunt them there. But again, I have no complaints since we can just get them all in galar lol
Even the dynamax adventure legendaries are special once you get them.
I've also been watching a few cartoons on Netflix these days. One of them has been Hilda, it's a really amazing show about a girl named Hilda and she goes on all kinds of adventures with her pet deerfox Twigs and her two best friends Frieda and David whom she goes to school with to earn scouting badges. It's really cool, and if you ever feel the desire to watch something a bit different to what you'd normally watch, I deffo recommend you give Hilda a try.
Either that, or Bee and Puppycat. I haven't really watched it per say but I saw the trailer and it looks quite good.

that was a close call!! congrats on the cobalion tho!! i’ve always been interested in shiny legendary hunts but i haven’t done one yet for this exact reason lol! the low catch rates are really so scary and i find them so frustrating even when i’m not shiny hunting 😪

Very nice hunt love the shiny also I recommend you hunt Maractus since I’ve been hunting in in X friend safari and 7 phases in at a total of 3510. Also I wish you could hunt keldeo

UwU but congratulations on your Shiny Cobalion it is an incredible shiny what advice for me personally try to bring in status moves like sleep or status it makes it really easy to catch it in my personal opinion

Huge congrats! That was the last of the trio I needed and it took SO long! For that trio, the camp reset method is much faster than soft resetting.

Just a thought, I definitely understand not damaging these mons and just throwing balls, but if I were you, I'd at least use just one super fang and maybe paralysis? Keeps it at half, that way you know that even a struggle won't take it out and you can just throw a masterball in that case. This strat doesn't change the risk factor at all any more than what you do now, but will give you a much higher chance with all those balls you throw + significantly increases how many balls you can throw bc the paralysis turns don't burn PP. All that for 0 increased risk. Congrats tho!
p.s - another good strat that takes a little more work is using a harvest trevenant holding a leppa berry + skill swap + trick. Use skill swap, it gives the opposing mon the harvest ability, then you trick it the berry. Now it won't run out of PP ever! So you have unlimited tries and it'll never struggle bc harvest+leppa berry will keep restoring a move's PP. This is what I did with Registeel bc I really wanted it in a particular ball!

Not to be out done, but I just found a random Shiny female Espurr in the Coastal Biome in my Pokemon Scarlet that I evolved into a Shiny female Meowstic and it has the Sleepy-Time Mark as well as a random Shiny Trumbeak that I evolved into a Shiny Toucannon.

congratulations!! shiny legendaries seem so thrilling! I don't have any interest in hunting legendaries, but I've been inspired to do some similarly grueling shiny hunts this year like curry hunting or the loooong DLC Wailord resets. having to put in lots of work for a special shiny definitely makes it extra fun and exciting! ✨
also, the rapid-repeatedly-saving-break made me laugh ;w; but you did it! you can take a deep breath now haha!

As far as I'm aware the thing that effects catching the most is sleep, which would hopefully also help out with them running out of moves
yes i do think you are right! i will have to set up a pokemon potentially with false swipe and a sleep inducing move; it would make these hunts go a lot smoother i would imagine TuT
@buttercupxo I've also seen a lot of stuff about transferring a leppa berry and skill swapping whatever the ability is that lets you reuse berries to make sure they physically can't run out of PP

It's crazy after all this time, you still don't bring a mon to thunder wave or use spore to help with your catch rate AND giving you more opportunities to catch it.
Hahaha i know, old habits die hard but i am working on a mon for this now, i used to be over prepared but went the other way, now trying to find a balance >.
Congrats on the Cobalion! ^_^ I wonder if putting moves like heal pulse and thunderwave on your Hatterene might be good to help status these legendaries and increase your catch rate. Plus heal pulse would keep it alive if it starts struggling.

Hi buttercup❤, just want to give you a tip that you can make pokemon not to run out of his moves by using pokemon with harvest ability and transfering it with skill swap, then using trick to transfer your pokemons leppa berry to the pokemon you are trying to catch. 😄

Now I feel bad because I got shiny Virizion in 892, Cobalion in 264, and Terrakion in 71 😭 I actually almost failed Cobalion though! It was 11 moves away from struggling 😭

Don't worry buttercups it not the timer ball fault the cobalion did the same thing to me although I tried to heal pulse it with slowpoke to prevent it struggle
