- Mangroves and Manatees at Indian Rocks Beach Nature Preserve in Florida with a bonus Pooping Osprey
Directly across from the gorgeous white sand beaches on the gulf of Mexico, through the gaps in the high rises and nestled into the little ocean side village of Indian Rocks Beach, lies the Nature Preserve that bares its name.
This 9.3 acre wildlife habitat is home to many native Floridian birds as well as a massive mangrove forest which attracts an array of saltwater fish and also provides a safe harbor for grazing manatees.
I’d recommend this as a great morning walk before it gets too hot. The boardwalk is nice and smooth for a wheelchair or a stroller. You’ll definitely see plenty of wildlife with the possibility of a manatee sighting, there’s beautiful foliage in the mangroves, you can get some fresh sea air in your lungs and maybe, if you're lucky, see an Osprey poop.
