This is the first trailer of our new game Castle Story. This game is a mix between a real time strategy game and a voxel based game. We hope you like it! Let us know!
Man... this is nostalgic. I hope that the studio keeps on growing.
And that castle story can keep growing... and eventually... get a sequel.

so qustion, can you make it so in build mode you can drag and select many stockpiles to edit them all at once?
+TheGamingHotDog Hi, to answer your question, you can already drag stockpiles by holding the "Shift" key while dragging the its blueprint. We will enable solution so you can manage your many stockpiles at the same time in a upcoming update. Thanks for the suggestions!

I have to admit this trailer was more epic than I expected it to be. The music fits perfectly.
Yes, you will get access to what they call a Prototype version. That is the Alpha build they used to make this and the older videos. It will be limited in it's features and be full of bugs, but you will be able to play around a bit with it soon after the Kickstarter ends.
The Beta that they hope will be released in October will have all the features of the full game, so that will offer a more fun and replayability I guess.
Just remember, Alphas and early Betas are never optimized or bug free.

So, I have a question:
Will there be preset buildings that you can have your people build? Because during tense moments, when your attention is needed elsewhere, you won't have time to tell your people to place each individual block. You should be able to select(or make yourself in an editor of some sort) preset buildings that you can tell your people to make, and they will build the entire building automatically.
Thoughts?
I'm a little sad that they haven't gone very far with the crystals, and we still need castle gates, but I'm very happy that it is finally released.
I loved the music. It really gave the trailer a nice pace. Hope that this goes into a good direction.

It's currently under development, if you donate to the kickstarter you can get early access though, I'm not sure when though.
Hey sauropods,what about being able to place the crystal where you like at the start of a game?and what about a co-op mode where 2 players have 2 different castles?
luis alberto Multiplayer mode on the same map is on the table, but it's not for now. As for placing the crystal where you desire, it will be eventually possible with Lua scripting language to decide where you want to put it.

that was literally breathtaking...this is the game i have ALWAYS wanted...this genre is my Favorite..but it has all my Favorite things in a game.....sandbox, free building, physics, and resource controlling....can we have a round of applause for sauropod studios?

the 17th of October they are planning to release an Alpha for those who donated to kickstarter. After that you still might have a chanse to hop in for the Beta.

Yes. First you will get to play the Beta when it comes out in October. That Beta client will then be upgraded to the full game once it's complete.

I think the corruptrons (the grey rock creatures) are angry because one of the bricktrons (the yellow guys) took one of the glowing magic crystals. Also, the bricktrons knocked down their own tower because it was full of enemies who were about to cross the bridge into the castle proper.

One thing that I think most people overlook in the top-level of the terrain. Even though it uses square-based voxels for the ground, the top is smooth. That's a really simple yet amazing feature. I'm sure it's been done before in some other games but maybe not.
Imagine if minecraft, terraria or KAG were like that. You would be able to go uphill without having to spam jump for every block. Of course it's an RTS so it won't be very comparable to RPG's, but I still say it's an amazing feature.

The release date for the prototype of the game is released on 17th October for people who backed £25 OR more, others will most likely have to wait until early next year.

I'm considering getting this, but I'm back and forth about it. I think what I mostly want to make is Hyrule castle from Ocarina of time in this. Anyway, I might get it, and if you're doing a world editor, that sounds like I could really have fun with that. Just one question, is there an option to look through the perspective of any of your troops, like either first person, or third person? Just thought I'd ask.

If you look on kickstarter they state they will have multiplayer but it will be available at a later date, this is mainly due to the many hurdles that they must concore in order to make the game multiplayer.
If you pledged $25 you will get the limited Alpha/Prototype version after the Kickstarter is over. If you pledged $15, you will get the beta when it's ready. They hope to have the Beta out in October.
The Beta will then be updated to the full version once the game is finished, but there is no release date at this time.
Gratz again on the funding! btw which game engine does this game use? Unigine?

I love this game, nice graphics,nice music, cute characters (even the corruptrons) and awesome gameplay.
though I noticed some things:
1:the big corruptron has crystals growing out of its back, why was that removed?
2:the graphics are way better in the trailer, why is that?
3:WHY IS THE SOUNDTRACK NOT ON RUclips?????

I'm from the UK and this is the first game on Kickstarter I've seen that appeals to a gaming itch I've wanted to play for a while but haven't found anything close, would love to support you guys and get hands on experience with this game :)

i want to know if those rocktons (my nickname for them unless thats what they are called) come out on the first night or if you have to take a piece of that crystal or if you get the first night to do more building. Anyway this game is going to be amazing.
coolest part about the trailer battle scene is that it is actual game play just the hud is turned off

It does look harmonic to have waterfalls down from each island, i really think it would fit in.
Also it would be fun because if a lake burst and a sudden stream flows down into your mining tunnel, then the whole tunnel gets ruined. I can imagen them little bricktrons running from the water like crazy :P
That game is so nice, I really like the concept idea, but I still have a question in mind, will the "World Editor" will be available in a future update? And can you give me and idea of how this will work?

It's the kind of informations which we can't give at the moment.
Hey droid! Lead game designer here. The world editor is 100% planned for the final release. We plan on releasing a brush based editor where you can sculpt mountains and valleys, Zbrush style. At the moment, the editor is too basic and hard to use to release to the public, but user created maps is very important to us. Stay tuned! :)

There have been a few updates that certainly helped upgrade their intelligence, but future updates will certainly boost the IQ of Bricktrons even more.

Hey, sauropodstudio, do you ever think about making a multiplayer mode where the players control just 1 character in third person? In my opinion that'd be SO much better, like a 3d "king arthur's gold"

It is not in beta. Beta is planned for October.
