How ironic that the "American" standard for beauty is white. How so many people's perception of America is white. I have brown skin, my ancestors were on this continent for thousands of years. Yet if a bigoted person looked at me, they would probably see me as an "immigrant". I went through a identity crisis. It didn't have anything to do with beauty. As a indigenous american, my people and my culture have been displaced. I don't know who I am or who my people were. I'm certainly NOT "white" , although 20% of my genes of european decent, I completely rejected it. Mostly because know one will ever perceive me as european. I'm also faced with " American culture" which is just white culture. All we have is white culture, it's so boring and bland.
