Last fall we went up Anakeesta. It was very nice up top. We will be going again for sure. We went with another couple and they were eager to take the lift up. Unfortunately, it was busy and the line for the lift was insane. We waited almost two hours. Id never wait on a line that long for the lift again. They also have shuttle rides up by trucks. I kept suggesting we take that alternative, but nooooo. Lets stand in the blazing sun and fight off the local bee hive colonies for two hours😂. No one ever listens to me🤓
Me and my lady have stayed in this general area in cabins a few times. It's a lot of fun in both towns and the ride or drive through the mountains back and forth from pigeon forge and Gatlinbug is awesome.
They have plans to build a Camp Margarita in the Poconos in PA. I haven't gotten a progress report since it was announced but we may do a camp margarita camp tour in 2026. We loved our stay in Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg. It took my foot nearly 8 months to feel 98% healed. Anakeesta is a nice park on the top of the mountain. We love Dolly's commitment to reading and comprehension. Nice job.
Great representation of the area where my wife and I live. My neighborhood is that area to the right of the 58 second mark. Next time you’re in town and if you’re interested I can give you Dollywood tickets. They are planning on building an RV Resort too.

Great episode Robert! We loved The Island, and we ate at Paula Dean's too! We also did the Ole Smokey Moonshine tasting. We spent some money buying a few bottles with the Pecan being our favorite

Thanks Robert for the video's. Your new camper looks good. Would it help you to save space by using vacuum bags for the items that you need to store? We did the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg trip in the first week of May.
I think the giant attraction facades (King Kong, Titanic, Upside-Down House, etc) are really cool. But for me Pigeon Forge--and for that matter, Gatlinburg--have become tourist traps on steroids and lost the local charm they once had. Too bad that you still had that hitch in your get-along, it would've been great to check out Clingmans Dome. Oh, as you're driving through Perry @ 29:45 -- the Hampton Hotel on the right -- I stayed there last year and there was a tornado warning, the power went out and everyone had to go downstairs as a safety measure. Kinda scary!

Margaritaville nicely done but i really dislike “Happy Tunes” blasting all the time. Its the great outdoors, nature provides the music. Wise choice Robert of less walkiing. Take time with that ankle👍
Nobody likes waiting in line. Some of us even less so, 😁 The island was really cool! I want to go there! And yes, the shorter - the harder, lol. I have a small utility trailer used for various things. Can't even see it until it's "in a turn". That thing is all over the place and always makes me look like a rookie after years of fighting it. It must have been the Ford Broncos event in Townsend that weekend before or coming up because of the early Broncos I seen in the video around there. I love those early bronco! Anakeesta is our favorite attraction in Gatlinburg. There's so much to do. Another must see is Parrot Mountain in Sevierville.

Easier to manuver going forward but harder to back up.
