Lil Kim knew Big, Cease and the rest of JM before Big became famous, they grew up in the same neighborhood. And Kim and Big had been in a ‘relationship’ since they met, but everyone tries to say that Kim was his ‘mistress’ and didn’t start ‘messing’ with Big til he married Faith but that’s not the case. Kim was even pregnant at the same time Faith was pregnant, but Kim unfortunately got an abortion. You’re correct JM’s downfall is when Big died, because Big wrote all their songs. Big wrote all his own songs, all JM’s 1st album, wrote all of Cease’s album, but contrary to what some people think, Kim wrote her own songs with the help of Big. He’s said it in interviews that Kim gets busy and writes her own songs, in one he said “no female emcee can see Kim.” She said she write then show Big who would tell her to take things out cause they’re ‘whack’ and tell her what to replace it with. Kim’s admitted he helped her at times, saying something along the lines of ‘Big is the greatest rapper in the game, any artist that had Big as a mentor would love to have him put finishing touches on their song, it’s an honor to have him pushing you to do your best to put out a hit record! The only good songs on the album were the 3 songs that had music videos, plus a remix song. I understand people love this group because of their relationship to Biggie, but this group was a failed project. They just took a group of people and made them a rap group even though most of them couldn't write rhymes. In Biggie's last interview with Joe Clair, he said that if Junior Mafia wanted to be successful they need to start writing rhymes. Biggie was not part of the group on paper because of his Bad Boy contract but he was used to find a record label to accept the group. This is a repeated story and seems to be the norm that when a serious rapper gets a record deal that he then works to get his friend group signed to a record label so they can get some of the music money also, but it fails because his friends can't write rhymes. We saw that with D12, The Lunatics, The Outlawz, and many others.
Rest in Peace Bristal tha Golden Child & Chico Delvec. Lil Cease didn't snitch on no one, he got a subpoena from the DA and when he was asked if he knew Kim , he said yes and they felt he should of lied or plead the fifth amendment.
