    We live in Lubbock it’s great . And for those that say it’s “ boring “ … no ! You’re boring! It’s not the city’s job to entertain you . Trust me there’s plenty to do in Lubbock. My wife and I go out all the time and we are never bored !

      I've lived in Washington, DC most of my adult life. I'm done with the "excitement" of big city life, the meanness of its people, the rat race, anxiety and stress. Give me someplace like Lubbock! The people are friendly, the weather great most of the year, the housing is affordable, life is infinitely better AND there's one of the best universities with fantastically responsible and mature students you're apt to ever find right there in the heart of it all. Yeah, Lubbock's for me.

    My grandmother was one of the first ones to graduate Texas Tech back in 1923. I am raised here born in a little town called Rotan. I lived in Lubbock, Vernon, Plainview, Lubbock again, brief stint in Columbus ,Ohio, finished School,, then got married, husband passed away, still lived in Lubbock for a while, got remarried moved to Houston, then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada my second husband passed away, then I found myself back here 5 years ago. I love Lubbock except for the dust. It a great move if you choose to live here .

    At 4:16 (the building with green grass) that's our Courthouse. If you hadn't cut the clip directly after that, you would've seen our building on Broadway.
    That really tall building you saw downtown, that is the tallest building to survive a direct hit from an F-5 Tornado. (1970)

    Having just driven through there, can attest to the fact it is flat, boring and downright ugly. Downtown Lubbock is one of ugliest downtowns have ever seen. Honestly, feel a bit sorry for all the kids that go to Texas Tech. Nothing there.

  • @dcricket1
    @dcricket1 Год назад +1

    Umm the Fraternities and sororities are west in 19th and North of Quaker. That tall building downtown was the one that took a full hit by a F5 Tornado and twisted the building. After determining it was safe all the new bricks were replaced and it’s been a steady sold out high rise business center containing NTS at one time. You need a resident to ride with you. Seriously!

    It’s embarrassing they have a store called “oriental market” instead of Asian market. Cultural appropriation aside, I’m sure it’s not intentional, but cmon.
    Edit: it’s been over two decades since I last visited this town. 114th st? That area was nothing but fields and dirt. Now they have a HEB? What a time to be alive.

    I lived there in the '80s. Your tour of Texas Tech was a short blur. The entire video was just short bits of the city. You could barely tell what direction you were going. I know when you were on Indiana, you said you were going west, but that street runs north and south. The city roads are so easy to get around because they are in numerical order and alphabetical order for the most part. The number streets run east and west and the name streets run north and south mostly.
