Make sure to protect yourself. I'll update if anything major changes, so make sure to subscribe. THINGS TO DO:
1. Destiny settings -> Social -> Fireteam privacy to "invite only", fireteam invites to "friends only", Bungie Friend Requests to "closed", clan invites to "friends only", and Whisper chat to "Friends only"
2. Private accounts or turn off friend invites on your platforms (steam, PS, xbox)
3. Remove anyone you think will abuse such a glitch from your friends list.

@@pugwash1 will be easy to tell, accidently it may happen once. If its happening multiple times then its intentional
@pugwash1 of course, only intentional ones, which should be fairly easy to determine if it's done dozens of times.
@@pugwash1While this is an easy glitch to perform it’s actually quite a specific setup. I think any one person is unlikely to do it once by accident, any more than that and you’re doing it on purpose.
I dont know if you know how it is done, but trust me, when you know how it works, it can easily happen multiple times accidentally

As someone who has zero to no friends in game, i'm happy i did not suffer from this glitches, but i hope bungie fixes soon.

Just a heads up for PlayStation users go to setting , then account management ,enter password when prompted , then go down to privacy setting then adjust accordingly to doubly sure .
Shame this kinda thing exists but hopefully they take care of it quick, cause imagine this lasts until final shape or even the next bungie sponsored pantheon run. Immediate chaos

I've been booted several times today with this I thought it was Bungie doing Bungie stuff, well now I know!
If I remember people were doing this on purpose by having specific character letters in either their name or clan name then inviting people, not sure how that works but it's what I heard.
My son has been complaining that he'll get kicked to titles on Fort Night just as he enters the final five. I wonder if it's a similar exploit or maybe Destiny 2 players learned it from Fort Night?

So you're telling me you can't even do raids for lfg now because of this basically what you explained is that if you get an invite you're pretty much likely to get ponied ....
Bungie with their current skill level will take months to fix this. At this point it's just skill issue for them 😂

Had this happen to me twice last week. I'm a solo player on console. Have my settings just like yours. Mine happened during Defiant Battlegrounds and Rivens Lair. Just joining randoms to get the daily red borders. At least I know what is going on now. Thanks. 👍
Will this impact the Bungie website fireteam finder (the old version)? Will people still be able invite you to activities?

I laughed about this the other day. My mate wss taking forever to join up so I sent him about 30 invites. After some choice words 😄 he said that just kicked me! Nah, gotta be a coincidence right!? Que 8,000 invites from him & a pony error!
Had no idea people were abusing it! After we have a good laugh about it & probably annoy a couple of our clan members 😄 will have to make sure everyone is aware of FT/FR settings!

You guys need to make this one public. This is the only way Bungie will do anything about it. It's been quite some time (a few years) and they still didn't fixed it.
Bungie is aware of the bug and the bug is a lot more public than many realize (hence this video)

No anteater is usually internet problems, but it can be a host of things. As far as I’m aware it can’t be forced by other people though.

No you don't, just paste their join code in chat.. but you'll still be on their fireteam

@@xTheLostLegendx You can still use the /join command on console. Hover over the text box, open the virtual keyboard and type in /join "Bungie username and hashtag numbers" in there

Not bans, but it is either someone purposely kicking you from the game or someone accidentally doing it

SEVERAL high profile accounts have been spreading the actual way to do the glitch on Twitter all day. I very purposely am not telling anyone how to do it, while letting people protect themselves.
