Honestly I was just scrolling RUclips and all I saw were current issues in my recommended and pictures of Biden and Trump and blah, blah, blah same old rhetorical nonsense. So sick and tired of it all. Then I found this. What a sweet surprise! Like a time machine. This carries me back to a simpler time in America when people were nicer. Love was pure and our innocence hadn't been lost yet. Such sweet nostalgia.
It wasn't simpler. People were just more focused on their own small lives and didn't know what was happening globally. The price we pay for greater daily awareness is a degree of exhaustion. Plus previous generations didn't have to deal with a constant online bombardment from people wanting to influence us for profit or power. It is no wonder really that we all yearn for a simpler life.
My grandparents had a screened sleeping porch and on hot nights we kids slept out there. The grandparents always had music like this playing in the living area. With the crickets, this takes me right back to being seven years old, giggling with my sister as we watched Mimi and Granddaddy dancing together by candlelight, swaying gently, Granddaddy occasionally getting a dip in there. There was a drive in movie theater close to their house and from the eastern guest bedroom we could undo the hook and eye to open the screen, climb out on to the roof and watch movies! I must say, many of those films were not age appropriate. I know I bugged my older siblings and cousins by constantly asking, "what does that mean?" They would roll their eyes and shush me. I loved spending summers with my grandparents.
This is exactly the graphic i usually see when i was a child.. the only different thing is the sharpness of the picture. Thanks for letting me know how beautiful my childhood was 😭😭
