Isn't it crazy that the RV industry has "CONDITIONED" us to think "issues" with a new RV is perfectly fine? We need to hold the RV industry accountable and pass laws to protect us just like the lemon laws for cars.
That is the excuse they keep trying to use. They say. Well you know they are handbuilt by humans. Well my answer. If you build more than one of the same model a month. Your a production line. And if you use CNC routers like Lance does. And brag about it and brag about quality. You better step up.
We have a new 2021 Lance 2375. Biggest issue so far is a shattered glass shower door. No idea how it happened, just found a pile of glass in the bathroom. Also, the slide out tray door has a lock that is difficult to lock/unlock, storage door on slide out has a lock mechanism that is totally rusted, and like yours, the propane bottle cover metal guides are loose due to stripped self-tapping screws. Very disappointing considering the cost of these trailers.
When we bought a new Geo Pro 19fbs last fall the water pump wouldn't shut off by it self and go into stand by access, and our keyless access failed. After a 3 month repair job those were fixed. This spring when we unplug the trailer no lights or any 12 volt power in the trailer, although the battery cut off switch is in the on position. Also our tire monitoring system won't connect to the tires to get tire pressure. So our trailer has to go back to the RV dealer again, hopefully not for another 3 month visit.
Picking my Oliver up in July I'll compare my first nine months to see if this is true. Lance should pay attention to this video(you pay $$$ they should) cause it doesn't look good for them...
You are much more forgiving than I am Patrick . I know many of the workers @ nucamp & believe they try hard to produce a quality product but I watched with interest how many times you were back here in the Sugarcreek area . As for the Lance , not everyone would want to drive from NE Indiana to Texas for service . Almost all all of your problems could/should have been caught by a good quality assurance program . As long as we tolerate these problems they will continue . ☹️
In my opinion, it is a quality control issue. They don't do what they should before putting out the trailer for sale. They didn't check even whether the heater is working!
Informative video. We also own a Lance and have had numerous problems. Three majors leaks, hinges on stovetop cover broke, front jack plastic disintegrated, front window shattered. Issues have been resolved, however, we feel they are all responsibilities of Lance. Lance is the one who selects their own components.
Hey Patrick, we have been travelling with a new Lance 1985 towed by a Tundra just like yours since December 2020 full time. You are right when you say the trailer is built solid. We also agree that workmanship should and can be improved. It just would take a few more minutes per job to COMPLETE the job. It sometimes feels like the owner is supposed to give the final tighten to all screws onboard! Thank you for the evaluation and will be looking forward to your next video! Aloha!
@@TravelswithDelaney Our Tundra is a white SR5 model. We bought it new from the Toyota dealership down the street from our RV dealer in Prescott Arizona. We are in Virginia right now looking to go north somewhere in a few weeks. It would be neat to meet you one day and compare units side by side! Thank you for your videos!
I had a wire come lose on our new Airstream water heater while on the road through Colorado. Like you one quick look found it and simple reconnected to the board and it was fixed. It is usually something easy. You just have to look for it.
Poor quality control during manufacturing seems to be a problem with all rv’s. Our motorhome had issues from day one. It kind of takes the fun out of it but thanks to people like you we can be better informed and prepared to make minor repairs. Thanks 👍
Good video. Yes, all brands have issues. I would put more onus on the manufacturer for not specifying higher quality and buying from more reputable suppliers.
I've really been looking into getting a Winnebago Micro Mini trailer until I watched another guys youtube video on 50 things he had go wrong with his, and they weren't all minor! Always thought like the person who made that video that Winnebago stood for quality. Since then I've been researching other couples size trailers, and that's what brought here. The Lance's are more expensive than most other trailers, but the quality seems to much better!
I have heard that from others. You'd think with the high end motor homes that REV Group manufacturers, the Lances would have maintained their high quality.
@@TravelswithDelaney Make sure you check under the camper for holes around anything that penetrates through the floor. On my first Lance everything was sealed but on my 2021 Lance 2375 nothing is sealed. Not even the holding tanks cover.
I've been camping my entire life, been using RV's for the last 20 years. There has NOT been one trailer without issues, overall, the QC in the RV industry is lacking, (considerably). If the auto industry operated under the same guidelines, they would be out of business.
@@TravelswithDelaney Furion speaker mount not wired. Door handle on bathroom door dinged wall. Bedroom TV not hooked to Jensen. No pocket for fire extinguisher so no access to the loose kitchen faucet. Shower pan not solidly reinforced underneath. Speakers in bedroom installed wrong. One was one quarter inch from the reading light the other was 2 inches away. I flipped the CS speaker over and the spacing is correct. But now I have to exposed screw holes in the wall. Bathroom door latch was not holding. That resulted in the ding in the wall. Drawers under sink constructed poorly. Truma keeps throwing a fault code on electric. Works perfectly on Gas. Back upholstered wall not attached. The whole panel moves when you pull the cushions to make dinnette into a bed. One overhead cabinet door rubbing. Just so many QC failures. I was wondering if the REV takeover was going to result in these problems. And apparently it did. Adding more items. Hose to water pump cross threaded. Outlet for Truma water heater/furnace not wired. Part of the graphics not centered or complete. Wrong screws in the outdoor kitchen table portion so it grabs and drags and put extra strain on slides. Front blind will not stay up. Support wood under dinnette not fastened. So in essence not doing anything.
We have had three Lance trailers and can count on two hands the total problems , all minor . Nothing was mechanical and mainly decal or minor trim . Very happy with Lance , you pay a bit more but worth iit . We are on our second Lance 2285 and looking forward to spring and beyond .
@@dennisbuchanan2599 Hi Dennis ,, just liked the updated version ! No real good reason , lol ! Everything was great and working as it should ! Who ever bought it got a premium used trailer. We never did a number 2 in it , just our thing for what that's worth and still have not ! There for emergencies ! Just got back from six nights , two dry nights and still perfect.
I went out and checked my glass cooktop. One screw is missing. Fortunately I found the pieces on the cooktop. Thank you Patrick I'm going to secure with loctite now.
We had the gas leak before we knew about the recall. It was frustrating because we already spent money for someone to check it out, and they didn’t find anything. Then it took us over 3 months to get someone to complete the recall! We were in Florida, but it was still cold a few nights!
I don’t think it is acceptable but it is reality. I suppose you could build your own and control the quality of the build but I don’t have the time or skills to do that.
Pretty sad state of affairs when a BRAND NEW RV unit has dozen considerable defects..DEFECTS ..not just minor inconveniences. So is Lance cheap on the materials and components, cheap on the QControl in plant and just what is the life expectancy of the RV unit.... Lance would be well advised to provide a minimum TWO year warranty to cover obviously sub standard fabrication and parts. It seems that you have grown accustomed to poor quality over your numerous RV ownerships. Add up the mileage back and forth to dealership for service and what do you do if your unit has a collection of serious issues when you are several thousands of mile from home?? Sounds like a money pit with the Lance brand.
If your having these issues I’m sure others are as well. That’s all on Lance IMHO and that they should use other suppliers and or make those mods prior to release of the trailer. Also, I’m not sure that you chose to make your slide out issue the only major issue the correct one…..the recall on the propane stove would seem to be more of an issue. Wouldn’t want Lance to go BOOM!
I would say the quality of RV and trailers have gone way down. A manufacturer and the dealer should inspect every part of their product before it hits the street and they don't. I went looking for a new trailer, September 2021. Almost every brand of new trailer I looked at some quality issue. Think they are just pumping them out and will deal with problems later.
Different experience here. We got our 2021 Lance 1995 in April after a 6 month wait. Camped out 7 miles from dealer right after delivery. Discovered a leak from the front window during a rainstorm the first night. Also hot water heater would not work on either shore power or propane. Microwave door would not pop open, but had to be pried. Dealer took care of these in an hour when we passed by on our way home.Tech repositioned/reattached seal, then water hose tested. Replaced thermal fuse on water heater. Ordered new microwave. Other than these, our experience has been trouble free. Camped out locally five times before going on a 2700 mile round trip from FL to upstate NY, without any problems. Really loving this Lance!
Not sure I follow why some issues are considered 'Supplier' and some 'Manufacturer' - aren't they really all Manufacturer - since it is the manufacturer that does the final assembly and should be doing the quality checks etc before releasing the trailer for sale?
We bought a Lance 1985 in 2018. We had the same problem with the bottom drawer in the bathroom. The self closing mechanism broke. We took it to the dealer and they fixed it. We also have the recall on the stove, but the manufacturer was on hold during the pandemic. Lance has not sent out any repair kits. It also seems that all the RV places are super back logged. The left side of the bed drawer self closing mechanism failed on it. I decided to replace this myself since the dealer was so back logged. It was tough!! There is very little space to get ones hands into and also there is very little space to kneel in front of it. We have also had screws fall out of our stove top cover. Lock-tight would have been the way to go. One annoying item is our keyless entry pad is peeling. The numbers are falling off. This is possibly because where we store it, that side faces the sun. However, we love it. It is the perfect size for the two of us. Lots of storage, great size bathroom and we sleep too good in the bed! Ram
We've laughed at some of the inexcusable cosmetic flaws on new RVs we've looked at over the years . I wonder how much they are really inspected. I fear the way RVs are being pumped out now due to a shortage of inventory, it will only get worse. I agree something should be done to protect the buyer from these costly problems. Standard warranties need to be better.
Most of it is minor and I am slowly fixing some of it myself. The biggest issue was the slide. Thankfully Lippert is close by and they took care of it.
Thanks Patrick...12 issues ....minor well for me I don't have a high tolerance level for a product that has a multitude of issues/defects. I thank you again for this informative video......... Lance Trailers.... what's up?????
The wiring-related issues surprise me as Lance is one of the few companies that actually set-up their wiring like an auto maker. But there are a few things you mention that speak to high turnover at Lance and I wonder if they're experiencing this? Good video! I can't tell you how many time I've had to replace the screws in my own stove top which is the same model. You'd think Suburban would buy some Loctite.
Love your approach to your dilemma. Not a whiny crying owner but a sensible well thought out approach. Seems to me you must have been an ambassador in your lifetime, and engineer?Great video, love it
Thank you! I think it’s just years of experience realizing things are never as bad as they seem. I had a wise friend once tell me “never quit on a bad day”. That’s stick with me because things usually look better the next day.
Most of the things you described I would consider to be normal RV problems. The slide out though is a serious issue. The only major problem I’ve had with our RV is the air conditioner went out on year three. The little things are almost innumerable and I definitely don’t keep track of it.
What you're not saying is that Lance has 1. lack of quality contol, 2. lack of manufacturer final components inspection, 3. lack of proper factory supervision of personnel, and 4. lack of dealership final components inspection. Hence, don't buy a Lance.
Picked up a new 2021 Lance 1985... First time out, the heater failed and the water heater only worked once. The EZ Lift was improperly installed by the dealer. Once those issues were resolved, the Lance 1985 has proven to be a fine trailer. The video correctly notes that NEW trailers always have issues, some minor, some major...ours were major.
First trip in my 1985 the plastic knuckle cover on the awning blew off on the highway leaving the dealership.... the oven rack was missing.... and the tv outlet had a short. Oh well. Not so bad all things considered.
I want to know if Princess Craft was able to handle the DOMETIC propane issue. I haven’t found a dealer, yet, who has received the replacement kit. Dometic is in the cellar as far as I’m concerned. I have a 2021 Lance 1995 and have not used the stove even once 8 months!!!
I’ve been looking at all kinds of TTs and thought Lance were on par with Airstream in terms of QC. But looks like they aren’t. Feel so deflated. Getting a quality TT is mission impossible.
Lately it definitely has felt like an impossible mission. Even the so called “high quality” units seem to have been plagued with issues. Many of those issues are component part issues but not all.
I know this video is a little dated, but I would like to know what you found out about the solar connection. I have a 2020 Lance 2465 with many of the same components.
We never have gotten that resolved. They were going to take a look at it but never got to it. Honestly, we have not had a use for it since we now have 2 190 panels on the roof.
I love your vids your both. But, thanks to these updates I have decided not to get a travel trailer or an rv. Just too many things that can go wrong and to deal with. I travel all over the good ole USA in my truck and stay in hotels witch are easy to get and in many ways cheaper than rv parks. I dont have to deal with all that crap. I am going to do what I do thanks to do with this vid.
Did you figure out for yourself or did the business you took it to finally disclose that the step light only works when the porch light is on? Dumbest concept ever, not to mention REDUNDANT 😂
When a light doesn't work (step, ceiling), a QA process should catch it. So those issues are always - in part - on the manufacturer. To illustrate how weak Lance's QA process is, they sent our Lance out to us with two different size wheels & tires. They failed to install our slide correctly as well, requiring; a whole new mechanism to be purchased and installed. Patrick, 9 months is a pretty short period of time. I think you will find a number of additional failures. Lance makes a great trailer 'box'. Their assembly of the systems and QA systems both need attention. As Gary (below) points out, how can the RV industry enjoy any level of respect given their poor quality and attention to detail?
WOW! That is pretty bad that they shipped a trailer with different sized wheels. We are hoping for the best for ours as we go forward but are prepared for more failures.
We bought a brand-new Lance last June, partly because we followed you through ownership of your T@B 400. We had a 320 at the time. We wondered 'What did they get - a Lance! So off we went and bought a 1475. So far, (knock on wood) we seem to be outliers in terms of problems. One outside light worked partially which they had already picked up and parts were on order. Two, the CO/Propane moniter has gone nuts and won't quit beeping and flashing - finally pulled the fuse and haven't taken it camping due to no moniter. It will be in at the dealer for a week. BUT - we love our Lance and so far the dealer has been very responsive. Thanks for all your vids!
Hi Patrick, I watch all your videos. I have a 2021 Lance 2075. It has no slides. It has patio (side) and rear awnings. It sits in my driveway. I live in North California. I wanted to put out both awnings to make sure they are dry before I put in storage. The rear awning has given me trouble. First it did not get out when I pressed the button. Then it somehow got out and dry. Now I cannot get in. I cannot tow it to the storage without the rear awning out. Do you know the Lance awnings have manual operation? What would you do in this situation? Thank you.
That is a great question. I have to think there is some kind of manual override on them. I would suggest calling Lance direct and see if they know. Now you have me thinking that I need to find that out myself in case that ever happens to us.
New to the channel and love it! Very honest and informative. I see you have not visited Missouri. May I suggest a trip to big cedar lodge/table rock lake near Branson. Absolutely beautiful in fall. Thanks again for such wonderful content
12 issues is still disgraceful for something that costs as much as modern RV's. Your trailer would be considered a Lemon if it was an automobile. The RV industry has no QC and we as consumers are only to blame as we continue to buy their junk. The RV's argument is that they could build higher quality units but they would be too expensive which is just a poor excuse for being lazy. Just look at a comparably priced car and how much more technology goes into it proves that quality can be had for the same price.
So you’re driving from Illinois to round rock Texas for warranty work? That seems a little extreme to me. I want to buy from a reputable dealer this within an hours drive at my house.
Solar panel connector❗️Not sure if the same issue occurs with the Lance but I have a trailer from Forrest river and they reverse the polarity on the solar plug so only their solar panel from (at 3x the price) will have the alteration built into their solar panels and anything bought elsewhere will not work. Simple solution Is a 12” polarity reversing plug (buy on Amazon) you plug into your cord first then into the solar panel port and do the trick.
Actually it appear like they never connected the plug to the batteries. There is no current on the plug at all nor any wires attached to the batteries.
You are lucky! Only bad issue is the slide and you had that repaired by pro's way better then the dealer would have done. The other stuff is normal lack of quality control. People need to understand if you cant wrench these things yourself, dont buy one. Those screws need loctite. I go over my whole unit and every screw on the inside gets locite doesnt take that long. Good luck with your dealer too they have just as many bad complaints as any other. Plus they rip people off big time!! You over paid for your trailer. This whole industry is corrupt from the top down.
I think every industry and especially the RV industry would benefit from making less models and options. As well as less powered parts. Make it more simple, but higher quality and consistent.
In the big picture very few items. All my trailers and motorhomes I purchase to this day do not have slide outs. I am looking at a Lance 2075 which has no slide out.
I prefer boondocking style camping, and was wondering if you are happy with the amount of fresh water in the tank, for the amount of time you stay in non-hookup areas.
I think that the manufacturer and dealers are just pumping these things out cause of the current crisis with no regard of customer satisfaction and quality! That said this could cause a decline to the glamping and cause a revert back to simpler things. I appreciate your vids and am seriously thinking I will not buy one of these trailers. Your an asset to them and they should sponsor and listen to your reviews of these products
I have a 2018 Jayco 145RB I feel very lucky I have had 3 issues, The Thermistor on the refrigerator, a bolt came out on a stabilizer and on the last trip the heater stopped working I think it is a easy fix like a sail switch. Other than those items it has been a great camper we took it to Yellowstone from Maryland and back last September with no issues. Ok i have to confess i spent 3 hours going over it with a fine tooth comb checking every nook and cranny testing everything looking with a light and a mirror. I had the dealer vacuum the left over crumbs from construction. I rejected the other Identical TT because the closet door was out of plumb. The dealer said he never had anyone check out a camper like I did.
Wow! We bought our 2017 Lance gently used. We have had no significant issues thus far. Just minor annoyances. We just purchased a second tt (coachman liberty freedom express),so it will be interesting to have a comparison.
No one said you don't have to stay on top of things when you purchase an RV. BUT YOU DO! You will never stop having some kind of issue somewhere or somehow! It is advisable to learn how to fix things as they occur yourself. I stay after my TT and never have to bring it in for "warranty work" that takes weeks to get fixed. Only time I would is if there was something major wrong.
Really good, and pragmatic approach to these issues. We’re close to having our 2021 2185 delivered and I’ll definitely be keeping these things in mind for our PDI and our shakedowns. Thank you again and stay safe
It's amazing how many problems, Little more annoying things. If you didn't know so much about RV's these are major things. Our stair light only works when we are plugged in (assume you have been plugged in) but I thought I'd mention that. Thanks for sharing!
Full disclosure, I am not an RV'er, however, I have many friends who are. One thing you all have in common is TOLERANCE. No way would I put up with all of the "little" items that are wrong with these things. They are way too expensive to put up with that. As you say, it seems to run in the industry. I am simply not cut out to put up with such poor workmanship on such a costly piece of equipment. I did enjoy your video however. It was well put together, dare I say, better than your RV... :)
Thank you so much! It definitely is frustrating but it really is an industry wide problm. It seems regardless to what you spend, you most likely will have some issues. The best you can hope for is to buy from a manufacturer who will take care of you if t here are issue.
Hi Patrick. We have a 2021 Lance 1995 (took delivery in August). - I think it was already mentioned about the step light that works with your 'white' exterior/porch lamp. The stove recall is on Dometic to remedy (not Lance). The seals that hold the manifold to the burners/oven are the reason for the recall. The remedy publication [20E071] indicates the replacement of the three seals, bell washers & bolts. I have been working since December to get the recall satisfied, put there is a shortage of parts. You may want to alert the dealer in Texas of your unit needing the recall so they can get that parts kit ahead of time [Lead time is 2-3 months]. - The cooktop glass cover: I check the screws periodically and placed a pad under the glass while in transit. No issues. - The GoPower plug: Should have the same voltage as the curb side battery. We have been very fortunate in that the issues we have had with our Lance have been minor compared to our previous travel trailer. All manufacturers have 'some' issues and now with the need for more units in the market (thank you COVID-19), the RVers can expect a lot more issues as the industry is cranking them out with little (if any) quality control. Have watched your channel for a while and appreciate your incites and travels.
Thank you John! I did check out the light today and it did light on white. Doesn't make much sense to me. When that bright white light is on, you really don't need a light on the step. I wish they would have put that on a separate switch.
We've had a few minor things wrong with our 2018 T@B 400, which we bought new. But I have to say, your slide out issues probably put me off slide outs forever! If they made your exact camper with a little dinette that didn't require a slide out, we might consider it in the future. I love your big, big tanks!
The Lance 2075 has no slide outs and originally that is what we thought we wanted but that one slide just opens up the trailer so much so we went for that openness feeling. Hopefully we won't have any more issues with the slide. Our 5th wheel had 3 slides and we never had a single issue with those over the 8 years we owned it. You just never know.
We had a stitching problem with one of our dinette seats. There were a couple of missed stitches and Lance sent us another cover. We lost a latch mechanism on our stabilizer doors. The screw loosened and fell out while driving. We also noticed our kitchen sink drain drips. We have reached out to our dealer for replacement parts. We appreciate your commentary, because now we will be looking for these items on our 1985!!!! Thanks again 😊
@@TravelswithDelaney indeed. Minor issues. After we watched your video we went and checked out Lance and found a few minor things (screws not being tightened appropriately ect). Your tips were helpful! Thank You
Thanks for the candid and fair review. We picked up our 2021 1985 in February and have traveled 5k miles with it. We had one wire off the eyebrow led’s that keep them on. Dealer corrected it on delivery. I appreciate your list so I can be proactive with the loc-tight. I too have found some minor issues and was able to easily correct. I have the oven recall fix kit from my dealer. Have not installed yet but it appears to be a 20 minute fix. I know it’s frustrating to be wrenching on new Rv’s. You can purchase new Rv’s with very few MFG QC issues. Liberty and Newell come to mind. No mass-produced Rv’s are delivered at 100%. I would consider the quality of Lance to be a above average value/quality propitiation when compared with the Elkhart TT’s with lower cost. High-end production and QC comes at a very high price. You usually get pretty close to what you paid for IMHO. The USA is a “biggest bang for your buck” market. I really wish I remembered that when I chose a USA TV vs the German version that was another 30k. I had to relearn that lesson! Thanks for your heads up and balanced review.
suppliers and manufactures should use heat shrink material on ALL CONECTIONS not electric tape or nothing at all. the shrink material insures the bonding connection correct, . no mess up? im starting up a company in the near future on the best portable camper/trailer on the market. we will be coming out in mid June 2022, . combination toy hauler, teardrop and full everything. in a 16' trailer. even a real home style king bed.

Hello sir, thank you for this info. We will be purchase a Lance 2075 as soon as we get our house built. Lance has always be top quality in my mind. We've looked at many many campers and Lance is where we are going to spend our money. I agree, every manufacturer and suppliers have issues. The main thing for me is to not let let it bother me tp much. We dont wont a slideout simply for the issues they have. But here again I love Lance and I really appreciate your video.
Thank you! The Lance 2075 is a gorgeous trailer and it does not have a slideout. We almost bought that model. Even if our slideout issue, we still love our trailer.
Isn't it crazy that the RV industry has "CONDITIONED" us to think "issues" with a new RV is perfectly fine? We need to hold the RV industry accountable and pass laws to protect us just like the lemon laws for cars.
Totally agree with you Gary!
Exactly.
Yes yes yes. All of this ^^^
I agree
That is the excuse they keep trying to use. They say. Well you know they are handbuilt by humans. Well my answer. If you build more than one of the same model a month. Your a production line. And if you use CNC routers like Lance does. And brag about it and brag about quality. You better step up.
These companies should be glad that people who are reasonable give reviews ,these reviews are unbiased and valuable to improve quality control !
I wish RV manufacturers would work more closely with customers on issues like these. Sadly most do not seem to and the quality issues just continue
We r considering the Lance1985 and live just a few miles from Princess Craft RV. Thx for the honest review of the Lance TT and Princess Craft RV!! 👍
When you go to Princess Craft...tell PJ we said hello! She will take great care of you!
@@TravelswithDelaney We will Patrick. I’ll inquire about the hitch stabilizer there as well.
Thx for commenting!

Manufacturer issues for sure. How can you not ensure all wires and screws on properly. Thank you for sharing and be safe.
Some of this stuff is so simple, it is amazing that they can't get it right the first time.
@@TravelswithDelaney Agreed.
Maybe it’s time to find a different dealer(if one is nearby) that services FR products?
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Geo Pro.
It seems that US RV manufacturers are at the same level as the car manufacturers were in the 70s before the Japanese came in and spanked them.
I would totally agree with you.
Are you planning to attend this year's Nit-Pickers Convention in Atlanta? hahaha
?? I don’t think a slideout that won’t go out after two months and two defective axles is not-picking….not for a $40k trailer
Considering how much we pay for these things, more care in their construction and quality control should be standard.
Agreed!

You know, that sounds like our government!
In my opinion, it is a quality control issue. They don't do what they should before putting out the trailer for sale. They didn't check even whether the heater is working!
When I buy something and pay a retail price for it, it better be ready to go and last. Was this trailer made in china?

We are in Virginia right now looking to go north somewhere in a few weeks. It would be neat to meet you one day and compare units side by side! Thank you for your videos!
Thanks for the honest feedback on your Lance 1985. You don't "complain or whine", just state the facts, fixes and move on. Truly appreciated. :-)
Thank you! We just try to share our experiences with others.
Exactly what I was thinking.
No RV will be perfect but some are definitely built better with better components. Overall we have been very happy with our Lance.
Lance campers are not the same quality as they once were.
We totally agree with you!
Just brought my 2075 home. So many issues already. I have had it for a week.
I'm sorry to hear that. What types of issues are you having?
Update. Dinette table base broke. Found out the front blind was installed incorrectly. Has to be replaced. Been waiting 4 plus months.
After watching this video I’m questioning our decision of purchasing a lance product. I think I’ll do some more research before I purchase.
We have had three Lance trailers and can count on two hands the total problems , all minor . Nothing was mechanical and mainly decal or minor trim . Very happy with Lance , you pay a bit more but worth iit . We are on our second Lance 2285 and looking forward to spring and beyond .
Why did you replace the first 2285? I would be very interested before I make a purchase. Thanks
Good, on you!
I am glad you found it! yes...some loctite should help hold them on.
Most of those issues should have been uncovered by the sales distributor during the punch list and fixed before you picked it up.
We had the gas leak before we knew about the recall. It was frustrating because we already spent money for someone to check it out, and they didn’t find anything. Then it took us over 3 months to get someone to complete the recall! We were in Florida, but it was still cold a few nights!
I love the silenced word at 11:07. Looking at your mouth, I can tell which word you muted! "Same f....... Problem!"
THE RV 'GOLDEN RULE" ... NEVER BUY ANY RV WITH MORE THAN TWO (2) WHEELS!
.....BREAK THIS RULE AND YOU HAVE A MONEY PITT... CHOOSE WISELY.
When you buy a brand new rv, you are going to problems. The problem is people think that is acceptable.
A potential fire hazard or explosion isn't a major problem, REALLY?
I stand corrected
I learned to RENT RVs when i want to travel thru the USA ...no point in buying 50k worth of useless junk just to deal with the stress of it.
Everyone of these should have been caught by the manufacturer prior to shipping.
The RV industry as a whole definitely has a QC issue but with demand high and supply low, I doubt it will change anytime soon.
@@TravelswithDelaney only a class action lawsuit will change it.
Bought a used Lance 23 ‘ or longer w trailer end. 2012 had it four years and recently fixed things up after it sat a year. Still is good. Like.
Wire nuts are not recommended for environments with vibration. Crimp connectors should be used in RVs.
Wish RV manufacturers would use them instead of wire nuts
I think QC people in the Lance assembly line should be responsible for all of this stuff.
Congratulations on the Lance! We are loving ours too!
Not sure I follow why some issues are considered 'Supplier' and some 'Manufacturer' - aren't they really all Manufacturer - since it is the manufacturer that does the final assembly and should be doing the quality checks etc before releasing the trailer for sale?
That slide out issue seems serious! Imagine getting it stuck in the out position while out in the boonies.

If it doesn't get better soon, I think it make take some type of lemon laws for RV's to be enacted to protect consumers.
I think for the money that lance charges they should not have these common issues cheaper rv”s have like they have experience with their lance.
I can't believe the issues you guys have had with the Lance. Hopefully it'll be all worked out and flawless soon
Most of it is minor and I am slowly fixing some of it myself. The biggest issue was the slide. Thankfully Lippert is close by and they took care of it.
How did you get that interior light cover off ? Need help thanks 😊
RV electrical connections should be crimped, wire nuts have no place in an rv.
Old world craftsmanship, my ass, they could care less
they are all junk, lance is just better quality junk then most brands. But I still want one
We really do love our Lance and most of the issues have been more frustrating than anything.
Thanks Patrick...12 issues ....minor well for me I don't have a high tolerance level for a product that has a multitude of issues/defects. I thank you again for this informative video.........
Lance Trailers.... what's up?????
Thank You
The wiring-related issues surprise me as Lance is one of the few companies that actually set-up their wiring like an auto maker. But there are a few things you mention that speak to high turnover at Lance and I wonder if they're experiencing this? Good video!
I can't tell you how many time I've had to replace the screws in my own stove top which is the same model. You'd think Suburban would buy some Loctite.
Thank you! I am sure hight demand is part of the issue and hiring seems to be tough all over especially the RV industry so you may be correct.
We’ve had the trailer now for 3 years and still making some great memories in it.
I would think that a technician would have found most of those defects during the pre delivery prep.
They are so busy that they can't keep up. A week ago when I picked mine up. They delivered 12 trailers in 8 hours.
Sorry to hear you have had so many issues.
First trip in my 1985 the plastic knuckle cover on the awning blew off on the highway leaving the dealership.... the oven rack was missing.... and the tv outlet had a short. Oh well. Not so bad all things considered.
I totally forgot that we also lost one of those awning covers last fall. The dealership ordered me one and shipped it to me. It as easy to install.
We have an appointment in early June. Hoping they have the parts by then.
Trailers need to be wired like cars not houses.
One of our subscribers pointed it out to us. We have since required it to work with the amber setting which makes much more sense
Welcome to the channel! We have only ever passed through Missouri but we definitely want to get to the Ozarks at some point in our travels.
Totally agree with you. If only the RV industry had lemon laws.
So you’re driving from Illinois to round rock Texas for warranty work? That seems a little extreme to me. I want to buy from a reputable dealer this within an hours drive at my house.
If we had one, we would not have had to drive clear to Texas from Indiana
Wires don't just wiggle off.
Thanks for that positive and uplifting comment on a Monday morning! 🤣
I think every industry and especially the RV industry would benefit from making less models and options. As well as less powered parts. Make it more simple, but higher quality and consistent.
I would totally agree with you on that. They really need to get back to basics and improve the overall quality.
In the big picture very few items. All my trailers and motorhomes I purchase to this day do not have slide outs.
I am looking at a Lance 2075 which has no slide out.
The 2075 is a beautiful trailer. We considered it.
I prefer boondocking style camping, and was wondering if you are happy with the amount of fresh water in the tank, for the amount of time you stay in non-hookup areas.
Yes! The 45 gallons of fresh water really has not been an issue for us. We are pretty good at conserving water when we need to.
No it shouldnt go with the territory of buying a brand new rv. People shouldnt think this way. People shouldnt put up with this.
Sadly though we don’t have much choice. Until someone starts building a high quality trailer to force the industry to change, not thing will change.
Thank you Jesse! It is sad that the RV industry can not do a better job on quality control. Hopefully someday they will
I have a 2018 Jayco 145RB I feel very lucky I have had 3 issues, The Thermistor on the refrigerator, a bolt came out on a stabilizer and on the last trip the heater stopped working I think it is a easy fix like a sail switch.
After 4 months in our 2021 1985, and the only issue so far is the propane cover channel screw coming loose. - Mike
That is very good if that is all so far.
RV’S are build just a little worse than a cordboard box !!!!!!!!!
LOL
Luckily I have been able to fix most issues myself. The slideout was way beyond my skill level and probably most.
Very true! Many are just annoyances. Yes...we have not seen it on with shore power or when boon docking.
Were you able to navigate around and access the ridge and everything while the slide was stuck in?
Yes. We camped several nights in it with the slide in.
Wish you had captions...
Hopefully you won't have anymore issues with yours. Its good to hear the Lance sent you a new cover for your dinette.
@@TravelswithDelaney indeed. Minor issues. After we watched your video we went and checked out Lance and found a few minor things (screws not being tightened appropriately ect). Your tips were helpful! Thank You
Always buy used and hope most the bugs are worked out.
We have purchased 4 used trailers before and 3 of them were issue free while we owned them.
Exactly! 😎👍
The RV industry should try to copy Honda or Toyota quality control.
We totally agree
I don’t have an rv but this man is very knowledgeable
Thank you
suppliers and manufactures should use heat shrink material on ALL CONECTIONS not electric tape or nothing at all. the shrink material insures the bonding connection correct, . no mess up? im starting up a company in the near future on the best portable camper/trailer on the market. we will be coming out in mid June 2022, . combination toy hauler, teardrop and full everything. in a 16' trailer. even a real home style king bed.
That sounds amazing...can’t wait to see your new trailer!
Thanks for the evaluation. This is a great user review for RV owners in general and Lance owners specifically. Well done.
Thank you so much Mark....I am trying to get all the bugs worked out for you! LOL

Pull the air duck maybe under fridge. You will see Romex 15 amp line rubbing on hot Furnace. Mine is. The list goes on. The Andersson plug on front for solar goes straight to batteries. Not through solar charge controller. So you need that. Go power sucks. Sorry. My new system 600 on roof and 200 briefcase rocks. Thx for sharing!
Also fuses for roof and front Anderson plug behind master battery kill switch. Light for steps tied to porch light that switches to colors
Thank you for the heads up.
Sorry lemon 🍋
