- Ride along with Josh Schattenkirk in his boosted DeLorean with a Chevy LS4 and watch the reaction of his passenger as they hit some backroads. #lsswap #lsswapped #lsfest #lsxworld
I think remember this guy from Regular Cars! Looks like he got even more progress! What a joy to be able to follow its progress.
Yes same car! Since the video Josh has added brakes, suspension, supercharger and some interior upgrades. Thanks for following!
I have an LS4 swapped DeLorean, with a mild cam, ported heads, and mid-length headers. I am using the UN1, and I drive hard. The UN1 does just fine as long as you don't launch it hard or power shift hard.
Great feedback Mike! How do you like it?
Ls4 is the fwd engine
@@jimtom4878 Yes, and?
7yrs later wow glad to see you’re still at it!!!
That transmission holds up to the supercharged LS? Amazing! I know there's an awesome DeLorean shop here in Redmond, WA. Love seeing these cars on the road. Thank you!
Video explains the transmission was also swapped to a Porsche 911 transaxle.
@20tea I agree DeLorean Service Northwest in Redmond half way between Redmond and Woodinville. It's where I get my major service done on my 1981 DeLorean. In this video I would have liked less music and more engine exhaust sound.
@markvanyo4302 Awesome, that guy is amazing from what I hear! Never met the owner in person, but met his neighbors as they are jeep enthusiasts and give him a lot of praise.
That's just insane. Beautiful.
Thank you Gary! You are also insane and beautiful!!
Glad to see his evolve after all these years! I'm sold.
I lean more toward original myself. One ride in his car and Josh had me sold also...
Man i thought it was a joke that the seat broke until the clip afterwards, jeez that's rad!
Awesome choice going with a LS4. Not very often you see that motor being used in a longitudinal set up much less rear mounted
Yes, well done. The DeLorean deserves a smooth, powerful engine with a bit of character.
John DeLorean is loving this!!!!!!
I would have to agree! Thanks!!
This was an absolute blast! Thanks for the ride Josh! :)
A visit from timelord is always a good time!!
Absolutely insanely awesome guys in so many ways! Gives me goosebumps... G'day from a fellow "D" owner here in Adelaide, Australia.
Thank you Darryl for the feedback! Glad we reached you down under!!
Excellent video...
Thanks for the compliment and for watching!
Beautiful Car.
Absolutely incredible
That is brilliant and sounds amazing
Thanks for the compliment! Fun car!!
8:08 he gots the LS giggles
Totally awesome. Love it!
Love your feedback. Thanks!
Now that to me sounds like the movie car
I hear that!
Would have been so cool to see John Z DeLorean in a reaction video to that
I was able to do the next best thing. Zach DeLorean, John's son, went for a ride in an LS Swap. He said John would have approved. Sereal.
Such a fearsome sound and amazing machine.
how the DeLorean should've sounded from factory.
Can't argue with you there!.
Yeah… to be honest, the engine for its time was actually better than anything offered by the big three and for its time, its acceleration wasn’t “that” bad… for a passenger vehicle… lol.
And… the big V8 was not very popular that the time… just look at what happened to the Mustang, Cutlass, and others like the Bonneville.
In 1981, there were 2 DeLoreans built with V6 twin turbos and twin intercoolers. This boosted the DeLorean’s top speed to nearly 150 mph, and reduced the 0-60 time by 4 seconds (9.5 to 5.5).
DMC planned to order 5,000 such engines and offer them as a turbo upgrade to the DeLorean - but unfortunately DMC went bankrupt before that could happen.
If only they had LS’s in the 80s
Super cool car.
Take a look at the marks the tires left in your parking lot at take off.
Not many DeLoreans leaving tire marks on the pavement I assume 😊
Thanks, I've never seen a DeLorean leave marks like that before!
0-60? 1/4? 0-Warp Speed? 0- Lightspeed?
What year can it make the jump too! LoL
It certainly disrupts the Time Space Continue'm......
I am thinking Delorean Hellcat. Will definitely break the seats with that.
Two questions though: the oil pan looked extremely low to the ground. Is that just an illusion? What about torsional stress to the frame? Does the increase in power require any frame bracing? I would think that even a tiny tweak to the chassis would render those doors inoperable.
Hellcat motor could be done. Someone just needs to spend the money on the engineering. DeLorean frame has held up to many high HP swaps without issue.
Wow!!! Incredible!!!
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback!!
Porsche flat 6 would work great considering it has a lotus chassis so you could do a Subaru h6
They dubbed in the engine sound of a 911 in the back to the future movies, little fun but if trivia for you
oh man, in some ways I can't wait til my motor blows, and I can justify doing an LS swap
Do it anyway; I LS swapped mine and it is 300% worth it
Hate to see you have engine trouble but if you do Josh can help!
@@michaelmcelhattan7238 oh it's in good shape now! Hopefully you're still doing this work in 8-10 years
Sell your good motor and put it towards the swap. You'll have no issue selling a complete running PRV.
I wonder if they'd find a success had they put a powerful v8 on it from factory.
Would have helped sell some for sure IMO.
They would go against DeLorean's desire for fuel economy. Without a Porsche engine (which I think they told him no), about the best non V8 at the time would have been the Alfa Romeo V6, but I have no idea if DeLorean tried to source any.
Isn't this the way DeLorean envisioned the car? As a true super sports car? How did the original concept end up being the anemic gutted disaster it was?
In the early 89s horsepower was dead.
Who build that car , I want one … what’s the price ?
This is rad guys ... just on my curiosity have yal built a stock DeLorean engine? I wonder what it is capable of if it was given every advantage possible parts wise , I'm curious to see what it could hold lol ... but the ls and k swaps are deff rad and I believe is what the car should have came with atleast power wise to match its looks .. peace and love all keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z
Thanks mastercricket. We do also build the stock engine to add roughly 60 more horsepower.
@@michaelmcelhattan7238 cool so we're you build the stock engines as well and know about them , what do you think you could pull max hp numbers on it ? Like u think you could make 300hp out the stock engine or is it not built that well like flowing and fuel ect the important stuff lol 😂... I have just always been curious cuz I really think what yal are doing us what the car was meant to be (sorry if I word wrong I'm kinda illiterate) ... anyways thanks a ton for the response much respect for that ..and I look forward to following your future content.. peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on and keep having fun l8z
@@mastercricket7626You're not getting 300hp out of a stock engine without some kind of forced induction.
One speed bump and that’s the end of your oil pan..
haven't met one in 40,000 miles so far that has done damage.
I wanna see this race the 630hp one with the Kia V6
I'd pay to see that race!
How much for an engine swap with the stock 5 speed?
What the flux?!! Rad
Awesome Swap but hard to listen to them talk. Sound is weird
I need some new microphones!
Seeing if these bastards can do 90 just leveled up.
How about a blower LS6
We can make that happen!
Thatt is actually a fwd ls4? And not a rwd one?
5.3 so yes. No aluminum block 5.3 "LS" besides the ls4
@@j.moneyfilms I meant to say fwd 5m3 I was stoned
@@j.moneyfilms 5.3

have non of u seen salvage to savage ls swap twin turbo delorian pushin 1000 hp?.... oh and its also widebody
Does he have a ride along or Dyno video?
it doesnt really run.. it can roll around , but its not built for the street
Cost? lol
This is AMAZING, but with DeLorean's super-crappy brakes I should shit my pants.
This car has a brake upgrade
I agree but this is not just and engine upgrade. Transmission, brakes and suspension have also been upgraded.
@@deloreannation NICE. What kind of upgrade works well? I've been trying to make my DeLorean brake better but was told it will never brake as well as-say-my 2005 Opel Astra
@@nkkollawthat car has 100hp you don't need good brakes lmao
@@jimtom4878 130
Yeah but can it go 88?
Unlike a stock DeLorean, yes!!
There is a movie named "fastest Delorean in the world" on Tubi where a guy decides to modify his Back to the Future style delorean to make it the fastest in the world.
By the end of the movie the vehicle was indeed the fastest Delorean in the world with a 1/4 mile time of 12.29 seconds.
Though by the looks of the Delorean in this RUclips video, the guy in the Fastest Delorean movie may have to increase his efforts.
This may become a yearly event, all modified Delorean owners meet at a drag strip and find out who truly has the fastest Delorean in the world.
This could be extended to the fastest VW bus in the world because of the Libyan chase at Twin Pines mall...there is at least ONE VW bus with a 1/4 mile time of 11.422s which beats out ALL Deloreans!
nope the sema one is faster
Where is the acceleration video?
That guy sounded stoned asf 😂
What’s your contact info
I just puked a lil in my mouth.
I'll ask Josh to give you a ride. You might SH*# your pants but you'll surely keep that puke in!!
@@mikemcelhattan954 No thanks. I dont touch chevys. Power is great, but its not everything. Throwing an ls in everything is boring af.
@@mikemcelhattan954 What would impress me is a 3 rotor wankel. The DMC12 was intended to have a rotary.
