Never knew I wanted to see Sauron and Galadriel together in any piece of fiction.. but here it is actually the main thing that keeps me watching. Oh well, Saladriel all the way!
@@Elisabeth_Wheatley Hahaha same sis, he's irresistibly sexy in this new version LOL❣️😅🤡 I've heard it's #Haladriel by the way...and let's hope to have some more fun shenaningans to watch with them on S2 as well, since they've become so popular in the meantime!🙇♀️🖤😈
No. If you realized the depth this goes to. Look at the first elvish death of Finwë’s wife Miriel. The only elvish man/king to have to remarry. It was tragic stuff and elves mate for life. This can be studied also in the Laws And Customs Of The Eldar book. And Morgoth’s Ring
I'm in camp Angmar rather than camp Sauron on the "who is Halbrand" debate, but regardless, I SHIP IT! If he's the future Witch King, then it's gonna be tragic, full of feels, and IT SHALL BE GLORIOUS! I demand at least a kiss scene or two, both before AND after he falls to the Shadow!
Besides I've read some recent interview, done now that they're taping S2, and Charlie is having so much fun as Sauron! It seems that he'll be the new antiheroe lead of the season (as Galadriel was the heroine of S1), and #Haladriel will surely meet again then...if they're smart enough the show will use their "forbidden chemestry", since Halbrand & Galadriel have become fan faves in the meantime. Last not least, l pray that they won't introduce Celeborn too early on spoiling all the angsty sexy fun...🥲⚔️❤️🔥

Honestly a more complex nuanced relationship between halbrand and galadriel, especially going forward would've been soo much better than what we got in the end...
It’s already beyond the source material and themes at this point so they might as well make Arwen secretly the granddaughter of Sauron so Aldarion is related to Sauron and how Sauron returns. It’s an age old fanfiction from 20 years ago
Meehh👁️👄👁️ Bons tempos, quando Halbrand era só um " rostinho bonito" e ele e Galadriel tinham " aquela tensão"😏. Agora só é estranho mesmo 😐 , wow, essa foi uma fanfic absurda. Me imagine things: Yeah 😏 don't know, maybe...
The fact that the show is so different from the books that shipping Halbrand (sauron) and Galadriel (bad enough to be Sauron) together is a thing that makes sense. Yall can enjoy it, I'm honestly jealous. Just thinking about the show makes my blood boil, I wish I could like it.
I wish it were as simple as that, but it’s even worse. They want you to like the ‘hero’ not despite but because of her objective evilness because they think being an asshole is female empowerment AND want you to sympathise with Sauron as though he were somehow morally conflicted because they don’t understand how Sauron (the real one) works and thus see him as an absolute evil (he isn’t) which isn’t allowed anymore because it’s ‘boring’ and ‘backwards’ and ‘everyone needs to be morally grey look at muh Game of Thrones so rEaLiStIc’. Does he really WANT to conquer Middle Earth and enslave the free peoples? Fuck yeah he does. This treatment has unfortunately become increasingly popular in recent storytelling, resulting in extremely boring and repetitive villains because for some reason there can’t be any evil anymore except ‘sOcIeTy’ or ‘the system’ and all ‘villains’ have to be victims. I’m looking at you, Adar. Sorry for ranting, just wanted to expand on your point a bit since I believe explaining this shit and calling it out goes a long way towards opening peoples’ eyes to what is going on within the entertainment industry right now.
The problem with the "Save or Rule" question, is that it is the Return of the King (rule) that qualifies saving Middle Earth. This series lacks that Tolkein view of the world, seeing the King or monarchy as having the highest of moral standards and virtue but also understood the fallibility and corruption of men. In this scene, resisting corruption is done quite well for a series I personally disliked, but that "save or rule" question ruined it because a ruler is not inherently evil. Tolkein believed in the inherent fallibility in all individuals, and wrestles with temptation throughout his works. Yet his focus was solely on the individual and the indivdual's responsibility and honour and ability to resist temptation of power. It was never about ideas or beliefs, it was what those beliefs were motivated by: malevolence and power or moral conviction and nobility. You can judge an adaptation by how they feel about the source material and author, because you can only write a faithful adaptation if you like them. You can also only write a good book if you like people.

YESSSS DIVORCE BEST THING IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM
There is actually a whole essay about elven divorce in Morgoth’s Ring (I think), it’s called The Statute of Finwe and Míriel.
