  • Howdy Y'all,
todays video is on the Nebelwerfer 15 & 21 CM rocket launcher systems. Mainly interested by the psychological effects these had on troops, I wanted to do a little research on them and make a video. Most likely I will be exploring the Katyusha, or the panzerwerfer in the next video.
As always if I got any information wrong in the video, please let me know down below and I will fix it promptly!
I'll catch you on the next one!

    Nebelwerfer literally means
    “ fog thrower “
    Smoke in Deutsch is “Rauch”
    Nebel is “ Fog “
    Werfer is thrower

You found a lot of videos about the Nebelwerfer which is great. I don´t like the game sequences of your vid. I don´t think it supports the original footage. I´m interested in original footage since my grandfather commanded a Panzerwerfer unit in Russia. They took part in the siege of Leningrad. I was a Kid when he told us his stories, but I remember that he told us they couldn´t fire a lot of rockets due to the lack of supplies. In the last years they were only given order to fire when the Russians were about to break through the German lines. After a salvo they had to move quickly to avoid counter fire, especially since the rockets made so much smoke. In the End of the war, most of his men were dead or wounded. He himself barely survived the war. He´d let us feel the shrapnell under the skin, still stuck in his skull in 1986. He told us several stories when he barely survived an attack of the Red Army. Sometimes it was his quick reaction or luck or both. We were a little horrified and speachless as kids. Knowing that our granddad fought for the Nazis living through the horrors of war. Later we wondered if he really was able to not take part in or commit war crimes. We still don´t know. He was nice in his old days, but I know now that he was traumatized after he got home to Germany . Im not sure if it was his intention, but none of his kids or grandchildren went to the Armed Forces of Germany.

You’re response left me speechless for a bit, still crazy that these wars were not that long ago... As well the scars/damages that they have caused, are still being told on the first hand account. I appreciate your response greatly. I have moved away from game sequences in my recent videos, I was testing it out in this one as authentic footage was hard to come by. If you want, I can try to gather some more footage to send to you privately. Have a good one mate.

@@DimplesYT Thank you for your response!
And you are right, it really is crazy that WWII is not that long ago. I´m 46 years now and my granddad is long gone, but his storys are vital in my head. We were speechless too, when he told his storys. No one dared to say a word when he was telling us grandchildren about his experiences. He never told glorious storys about the war, some were about friendship among the soldiers and humanity, most about surviving barely. One time he was on a recon mission on his own in Estonian woods when he spotted a group of Russian soldiers aproaching him. He hid behind thick bushes and raised his MP to fire. When they were close he pulled the trigger, knowing he couldn´d hit all of them and they would kill him. But his MP failed, he kept his breath and the Russians walked by, not noticing the German Leutnant frozen with fear.
I know it´s hard to find authentic footage, thanks for explaining the game sequences. I´m not sure if I want to see more original sequences, it always stirs up memories and the bloody Russian war in Ukraine does that already. But thanks for your offer!
      Have a good one, too.
