I know I am in the minority, but I really enjoyed hearing in both German and English. My German is very weak and this is very helpful to learning German. It is nice to have something I am interested in as the subject matter in both German and English. Thank you!

Dies Geräte sind vom Ursprung 10m Geräte, wenn die soweit runter gehen sollen braucht das Gerät eine Modifikatin. Ob das wirklich Sinn macht ist eine andere Frage, da natürlich alle Bandfilter auch nicht dafür ausgelegt sind...

Alot of radio operators are complaining and telling us these new type radios are not as good as the old type like the cobra 148 gtl dx or original president lincoln / grants. BUT your video shows that is a very capable radio indeed. How do you compare these against cobra 148 gtl dx and the original president lincolns. Do you think this is better.
26-PS-001 Thanks for nice feed-back. Well what I can say so far is that all the cobras and Presidents were good after intensive modifications and of course this radios always were easy to mod and a lot of informations about how to do were available all over the years. That makes cobras and presidents to a kind of legend. But right out of the factory they are only 3rd class. Have simply a look on performance of Lincoln 2 v1 and v2 and v3... when v4 to come?? If you compare all of this with this Any Tone (manufacturer name) you see the difference. Of course you can improve this radio as well but compare it with all other radios right out of the box and that makes the difference. Hope this gives a little back ground. 73's
Hi Peter, thank you for the very nice presentation. Is it any chance to find the schematic diagram for this radio? I have one, it works well but has a problem on the squelch mute, sometimes it is completely muted other times there is still a little noise in the speaker and I would like to check if maybe I can repair this, it is a bit annoying especially when switching to transmission it makes an additional noise in the speaker.

Schönes Video, tolles Funkgerät! Was ich ein wenig schade finde, ist, dass die Hersteller nicht gleich PMR und Freenet, DCS und eine Ablage usw. integrieren. Bei PMR gebe ich zu: es sind nur feste Antennenanschlüsse erlaubt. Aber da könnten sie sich ja etwas einfallen lassen.
Phu das ist ne Menge Zeug Peter-Clemens. Ich verstehe Deinen Wunsch, jedoch würde das Gerät dann um einiges teurer werden und viele Leute möchten dann das Geld dafür nicht mehr zahlen. Zunächst muss man erst mal unterscheiden zwischen Bauteilaqualität und zweitens Abgleichqualität und dann Intensität des Final Tests in der Fertigung. Diese drei Punkte sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden. Da wir bei diesen Geräten von Low Cost Consumergütern reden, können wir davon ausgehen, dass der Hersteller alles tun wird um die Kosten klein zu halten. Somit wird das aufgezeigte Dreieck an allen drei Punkten maximal gestresst. Billige Bauteile, vorabgeglichene Komponenten, wahrscheinlich mäßiger Nachgleich und sehr geschrumpftes Finaltesting sind nicht ein Garant für 100% Reproduzierbarkeit. Aber lass uns versuchen eine lange Story kurz zu machen. In der Regel werden die Daten alle einigermaßen zusammen passen und auch die Bauteilqualität ist besser als vor 30 Jahren. ZUdem wird heute SMD Technik verwendet, so dass alles zusammen einigermaßen passen wird. Es gibt eher einige Ausreißer nach unten aber es ist nicht die Masse komplett schlecht. Somit ja, es könnte sein das ein zweites Gerät sehr gut auf der Frequenz liegt. Hoffe das hilft ein wenig. Leider ein Thema das ein Aufsatz über mehrere Seiten wäre, wenn man das einigermaßen wischenschaftlich angehen will...

+Thomas Schultz Hallo Thomas, wenn ich mich nicht verrechnet habe wäre somit die erlaubte Abweichung bei 27Mhz genau 1350Hz. Das wiederum entspricht auch wieder der nornalen Abweichung von 50ppm bei normalen quarzen. Wenn sich die Abweichung auf das interne Frquenznormal bezieht, also meistens 10Mhz wären bei 50ppm immer noch 500Hz zulässig. Die Abweichung lässt sich durch internen Abgleich aber meistens in den Bereich von 30 Hz ziehen.
My dad grew up in Berlin so German was his first (well one of two...his mom was Polish) Language but unfortunately despite the German School I had to go to on Saturdays most of the German language did not land with me. Ultimately my dad spoke like 6 European languages. As for the anytone 6666 I have one in the car and I am fairly satisfied with it. I just watched the video to adjust the echo, of which I never use but I might trim the pod to add just a tiny bit of echo and volume, of which I might then use.

Hallo Peter, ein wirklich ganz hervorragendes, professionelles und detailliertes Video! Als Besitzes eines SS9900 und auch des SignaLink USB möchte ich auch auf CB Band digitale Betriebsarten testen, scheitere aber beim Adapterbau an der Mikrofonbelegung des SS9900. Ganz am Ende deines Videos sagst du, die Belegung wäre identisch mit den Albrecht Geräten, nur ist das nicht ganz eineindeutig. Für den Adapter muss ich Masse, PTT, Mic und Speaker abgreifen. Kannst du Angaben zur Belegung machen? Viele Grüße!
Ich lese immer wieder, dass das Gerät out-of-the-box nichts taugen würde, aber nach einem Besuch beim jeweils bevorzugten Funkdoktor das beste Gerät der Welt wäre. Nunja. Insbesondere bezieht sich die Kritik auf die FM Modulation. Die würde dramatisch besser, nachdem der Meister Hand angelegt hätte. Dazu noch Modifikationen, die knapp 100 Watt aus dem Gerät herauskitzeln. Deine Meinung dazu?
Hi Peter i bought a Heathkit Deviation meter some time ago, friend if mine has repaired it and aligned it etc, works well, and he has made me a small signal generator to work with it, all works fine, and i have a Bird wattmeter, you can actually have an extension speaker on the signal generator and strap it to a Mic on transciever to check the deviation that way, or hard wire it as you do...from Fred in UK.
Is it possible to speak and record in German , then while wearing headphones do an English overdub ? The listener could select English or German . Does RUclips have this facility ? It would be more work for you or an interpreter if you had one .
It's funny how they put a small finger dimple on the tuning knob being that it's way too small to be of any real use. I'm guessing they did this because most genuine amatuer transceivers have finger dimples, although they're much larger and serve a real purpose.

+MrDeltacharly Hallo, ja man kann einen kleinen Kondensator zwischen10-47nf in die Mic Leitung löten, damit nimmt man Tiefen raus. Ich würde aber eher ein gutes Verstärker MIc ausprobieren. Wie auch immer ein wenig komisch ist das schon, da in den verschiedenen Tests das nicht aufgefallen ist. Hoffe das hilft. 73

+arbeiter4ever Hallo, einen Signalgenerator für den Hobbybereich kenne ich jetzt nicht direkt, da das Problem ja ist eine sehr genaue Ausgansleistung zu liefern. Also z.B. -73dbm für ein S9 Signal. Ja mit der Sotware kann man sein S-Meter kalibrieren, aber wie du schon richtig bemerkst braucht es dafür eben ein kalibrietes Signal mit z.B. -73dbm. Weiterhin sind die S-Meter von Hause aus nicht so genau, es bleibt in einigen Bereichen ca. S1-S5 doch recht ungenau. Hoffe das hilft erst mal 73

@@chilman6461 : Yes....they are the same radio, just a different name. I've been using mine for a few years now and I would highly recommend them, especially for DXing as it transmits at approx. 60 Watts "out of the box" in SSB mode. My very first contact using this radio was to Northern Poland (from Northern England)......about 800 miles, and that was with an indoor antenna !!
Ventilatoren sollten da eher nicht rein, da sie erstens einen Lärm verursachen, der beim Funken immer als störend empfunden wird, und wenn es etwas sehr warm wird, dann ist es besser, nach längerer Zeit die Leistung etwqs zurück zu drehen. Und zweitens sind die Lüft staubsmfällig, also eher nicht. Sieht insgesamt nach einem Top-Transeiver aus! Danke für das Video!

TRXBench I had another go at watching your video and found the out of box review interesting as usual. It is amazing how they can build these radios for the money. As it turned out the video was OK to watch and I even learnt a few German words.
Ok good show a bit long in German and English but a good idea can't fault you for trying ! I have one of these radios I do like it much better than the anytone family 5555 etc like the idea of the smother clarifier they that horrible click on the anytones I get good audio reports both all modes to I use it in my truck at work so it's used mobile for a mono band radio I would give it 8 out of 10 and in the same league as the old President Lincoln mark 1 not those crappy mark II things Cheers Sam

Unfortunately I found the mixing of the languages too distracting. I also felt rather small because such language skills are completely beyond my ability.

Awesome, free german language lessons. I like the idea. I do however turn the speed up to 1.25. you can fasten the speech under the gear wheel icon.

Diese drei Punkte sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden. Da wir bei diesen Geräten von Low Cost Consumergütern reden, können wir davon ausgehen, dass der Hersteller alles tun wird um die Kosten klein zu halten. Somit wird das aufgezeigte Dreieck an allen drei Punkten maximal gestresst. Billige Bauteile, vorabgeglichene Komponenten, wahrscheinlich mäßiger Nachgleich und sehr geschrumpftes Finaltesting sind nicht ein Garant für 100% Reproduzierbarkeit.
Aber lass uns versuchen eine lange Story kurz zu machen. In der Regel werden die Daten alle einigermaßen zusammen passen und auch die Bauteilqualität ist besser als vor 30 Jahren. ZUdem wird heute SMD Technik verwendet, so dass alles zusammen einigermaßen passen wird. Es gibt eher einige Ausreißer nach unten aber es ist nicht die Masse komplett schlecht. Somit ja, es könnte sein das ein zweites Gerät sehr gut auf der Frequenz liegt. Hoffe das hilft ein wenig. Leider ein Thema das ein Aufsatz über mehrere Seiten wäre, wenn man das einigermaßen wischenschaftlich angehen will...
Hallo Peter, noch eine ganz andere Frage.Wenn eine Gerätespezifikation besagt, das ein Gerät eineFrequenzgenauigkeit von 0,005% hat und dann tatsächlich aber bei 130Hz SSB rauskommt, ist das dann kein Garantiefall,bzw. Grund zur Rückgabe?
+Thomas Schultz Hallo Thomas, wenn ich mich nicht verrechnet habe wäre somit die erlaubte Abweichung bei 27Mhz genau 1350Hz. Das wiederum entspricht auch wieder der nornalen Abweichung von 50ppm bei normalen quarzen. Wenn sich die Abweichung auf das interne Frquenznormal bezieht, also meistens 10Mhz wären bei 50ppm immer noch 500Hz zulässig. Die Abweichung lässt sich durch internen Abgleich aber meistens in den Bereich von 30 Hz ziehen.

My dad grew up in Berlin so German was his first (well one of two...his mom was Polish) Language but unfortunately despite the German School I had to go to on Saturdays most of the German language did not land with me. Ultimately my dad spoke like 6 European languages. As for the anytone 6666 I have one in the car and I am fairly satisfied with it. I just watched the video to adjust the echo, of which I never use but I might trim the pod to add just a tiny bit of echo and volume, of which I might then use.
Testing the output power on SSB what was the mic gain set at? Was it at 36 max.?

Als Besitzes eines SS9900 und auch des SignaLink USB möchte ich auch auf CB Band digitale Betriebsarten testen, scheitere aber beim Adapterbau an der Mikrofonbelegung des SS9900. Ganz am Ende deines Videos sagst du, die Belegung wäre identisch mit den Albrecht Geräten, nur ist das nicht ganz eineindeutig.
Für den Adapter muss ich Masse, PTT, Mic und Speaker abgreifen.
Kannst du Angaben zur Belegung machen?

Ich lese immer wieder, dass das Gerät out-of-the-box nichts taugen würde, aber nach einem Besuch beim jeweils bevorzugten Funkdoktor das beste Gerät der Welt wäre. Nunja. Insbesondere bezieht sich die Kritik auf die FM Modulation. Die würde dramatisch besser, nachdem der Meister Hand angelegt hätte. Dazu noch Modifikationen, die knapp 100 Watt aus dem Gerät herauskitzeln. Deine Meinung dazu?

Hi Peter i bought a Heathkit Deviation meter some time ago, friend if mine has repaired it and aligned it etc, works well, and he has made me a small signal generator to work with it, all works fine, and i have a Bird wattmeter, you can actually have an extension speaker on the signal generator and strap it to a Mic on transciever to check the deviation that way, or hard wire it as you do...from Fred in UK.

Is it possible to speak and record in German , then while wearing headphones do an English overdub ? The listener could select English or German . Does RUclips have this facility ? It would be more work for you or an interpreter if you had one .

It's funny how they put a small finger dimple on the tuning knob being that it's way too small to be of any real use. I'm guessing they did this because most genuine amatuer transceivers have finger dimples, although they're much larger and serve a real purpose.

Was mir aber immer gesagt wird das meine Modulation auf fm mit Original Mike, aber auch mit anderen Mikrofonen viel zu dumpf ist und das Leute die meine Stimme kennen, mich nicht gleich erkennen wenn ich sie über Funk anspreche. Ist da technisch noch was zu machen um die Mod heller zu machen?
+MrDeltacharly Hallo, ja man kann einen kleinen Kondensator zwischen10-47nf in die Mic Leitung löten, damit nimmt man Tiefen raus. Ich würde aber eher ein gutes Verstärker MIc ausprobieren. Wie auch immer ein wenig komisch ist das schon, da in den verschiedenen Tests das nicht aufgefallen ist. Hoffe das hilft. 73

Hallo, bezüglich dem S-Meter. Habe ich ohne Labor die Möglichkeit das S-Meter zu überprüfen? Ich habe das Gerät und ich habe auch die Software. Jedoch weiß ich nicht wie ich das S-Meter überprüfen kann. Lg aus Salzburg

+arbeiter4ever Hallo, einen Signalgenerator für den Hobbybereich kenne ich jetzt nicht direkt, da das Problem ja ist eine sehr genaue Ausgansleistung zu liefern. Also z.B. -73dbm für ein S9 Signal. Ja mit der Sotware kann man sein S-Meter kalibrieren, aber wie du schon richtig bemerkst braucht es dafür eben ein kalibrietes Signal mit z.B. -73dbm. Weiterhin sind die S-Meter von Hause aus nicht so genau, es bleibt in einigen Bereichen ca. S1-S5 doch recht ungenau. Hoffe das hilft erst mal 73

I've been using mine for a few years now and I would highly recommend them, especially for DXing as it transmits at approx. 60 Watts "out of the box" in SSB mode. My very first contact using this radio was to Northern Poland (from Northern England)......about 800 miles, and that was with an indoor antenna !!

Ventilatoren sollten da eher nicht rein, da sie erstens einen Lärm verursachen, der beim Funken immer als störend empfunden wird, und wenn es etwas sehr warm wird, dann ist es besser, nach längerer
Zeit die Leistung etwqs zurück zu drehen. Und zweitens sind die Lüft staubsmfällig, also eher nicht.
Sieht insgesamt nach einem Top-Transeiver aus!

I have one of these radios I do like it much better than the anytone family 5555 etc like the idea of the smother clarifier they that horrible click on the anytones I get good audio reports both all modes to I use it in my truck at work so it's used mobile for a mono band radio I would give it 8 out of 10 and in the same league as the old President Lincoln mark 1 not those crappy mark II things
