  • This tutorial (Part I) discusses the basic concepts of simple linear regression and how to calculate the slope and y intercept to get the line of regression. The coefficient of determination and the correlation coefficient are also calculated and discussed, as are the concepts of Total Variation (SST), Explained Variation (SSR), and Unexplained Variation (SSE). Finally, an hypothesis test on the slope is conducted using both the critical value approach and the p value approach. Part II continues, using the same example, to draw a confidence interval on the slope and also on y "hat". You can find Part II at ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&vide...
A hypothesis test on the correlation coefficient is also demonstrated. Finally, a step by step demonstration on how to use Excel to generate a regression model is shown as well as an explanation of how to read the Excel output.
