I went thru a loveless marriage for 28 years for my 3 sons. I have physical and emotional scars. Last year I finally had enough and adult up. I have gone thru hell. Called rcmp 2 nights ago cause they took a round on me again a week before I take possession of my new home. I have warmed up calves in my kitchen. I have had enough and trying to adult up. This song sticks to my core. And 100% get this song. Beaufort disaster and own it. Right down to my tattoo. I know what hell feels like....and i pray God has me.. not sure how much tough I got left.

One of the nicest ladies ever seen on stage singing about being tough. And you know what? I really believe she is. You have to be tough to still be as nice a person as she is after the kind of childhood she's had. Mom leaving her at the age of 2, and dad in and out of jail. I take my hat off to Ms Kelly Pickler, to the artist and the woman.

Yes she is one tough woman! She's an inspiration to other woman that has lived the same or somewhat the same childhood as she did. Been there done that and I think worse.. but she Rose above in her way to be an inspiration,bless her heart. Women like her has always helped give me strength🥰

My Dad spent 2 weeks in jail (nothing serious or drug-related) but I will always say he was/is a good father to me...I never went to bed hungry and always had a roof over my head and warm clothes...considering my mom ran out when I was 8, I definitely had to grow up with a few rough edges. I love and yet hate the fact that I can relate to this song.
This song really speaks to me. I think of the saying that I heard in the movie Mulan. " The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all."

Kellie is a star and had delivered 2-3 great albums -- much better than Miranda for sure -- BUT Nashville labels, radio, and retail will not get around her since she would threaten Miranda, plus the overall sexist Nashville political machine ... its very very tough to get a hit for a female singer besides Carrie -- just look how Miranda's has so many failed singles at radio even though she gets so many award thrown her away. Frank Liddell produced Kellie's last couple cds and they are chock full of quality songs -- but radio and politics will not allow Kellie to be a bigger star than she is ... let's see how her new talk show does ... bravo Kellie.

I think whats held kellie back is shes not willing to change herself, persona if you will, to suit record execs whims, like miranda, carrie, both have been a "sweetheart" then a "tough girl" then a "crazy ex" type, kellies, just kellie, this is also whats held musgraves back, avd i like that. Silentbutterfly23 I raised three girls to be like this but now my youngest daughter 26, she's too tough for her own damn good! So much so I miss the times when she needed me, when she was hurt, sad or just when she needed a shoulder to cry on. Now She can sure make me cry sometimes. I've wondered at times if her heart had icicles. I've tried fixing this with us, not exactly sure how we got to this degree. Yes we are both bullheaded. I don't know if I'm just over emotional or if she just got meaner... I only know that she makes me sad a lot :°(

Because of Kelly and Daughtry voted off, but kelly has beaten the odds; and in my opinion the most underrated female country artist today. Kelly start writing become a virtual word smith, because you must have a lot of residual and repressed pain and memories that you are haunted by. You could be a country LEGEND! It's your choice.
