I wish someone would develop a small Android tablet with specifications that would compete with the iPad Mini. A smaller Samsung Tab S9 would be perfect.
I got this tablet earlier to upgrade from my onn tab 7 2022, and I absolutely love it! The metal body, the dual speakers, the better cpu. It reminds me of my first ipad mini. The only thing I miss is the headphone jack but other than that I love it! And the camera has a flash too, thank you Walmart lol
@@LLC1102 I would assume so. I didn't purchase it yet but that's exactly what I would use it for. I have the readera premium on my other tablets and I love it. I just needed something smaller to be mobile with and not only would this be cheaper than the Kindle but also better in my opinion. I have the Kindle Paperwhite and I barely use it. I don't like the lags and it just seems cheap to me.
@@TheHandsomeAudiophilethere’s some factors at play as to why the bezels are as large as they are, and imo it’s probably for cost and performance. larger bezels on an LCD not only make it cheaper, but reduce the resolution which allows better performance from the hardware. for a device under $70, it’s honestly not that bad even with those bezels, it works as a light gaming and media device when your other options can sometimes be $120+
I got mine over the cyber Monday sale. Love that it's a decent quality table that's not crazy expensive. I love how size friendly it is, too - and so lightweight. I intentionally got it for e-reading and listening to audible; kindle, kobo, and boox were outside of my price range, plus I wanted something that i could utilize all my reading apps on. This small but mighty tablet keeps me focused on reading/listening to books, more than what I was when I had the apps on my phone (so many distractions there, lol).
I know not many people would go for it, but I wish they would offer their fastest processors in the 7 and 8-in. I like the form factor because it's the size of a book.
This actually isn't bad for basic use if you want something smaller. I watch a little bit of streaming on it, basic web browsing, remote for smart devices, a jukebox paired to a Bluetooth speaker, and a bit of light 2D gaming.
I must say that the onn 7 inch tablet is very nice. I plan on buying it for my birthday! I had an older one but it quit working on me! So I will have to buy the onn 7 inch 2024 model tablet at Walmart this coming month!
I just got it to play around with for Black Friday as I haven’t used anything android in at least 8 years and I figured I wanted to check it out for 40$
Does it have a microphone? I wonder if you could download Google Voice and use it as a wifi phone with your Google Voice number? The Fire won't let you do that.
I got this tablet for $30 on the Walmart app, and I am quite impressed. Nice screen and streaming quality and quick download speed. I miss not having a headphone jack, and the stereo speakers sound a bit tinny, but overall, a great tablet for the price.
This would be good for a younger kid with a sturdy case, but otherwise yeah Android GO Edition just ain't it with 3GB RAM, and even 4GB of RAM is really not enough as I feel 6GB should be the bare minimum for Android these days with how much heavier it's gotten, as I've noticed my Nokia T20 starting to get laggy AF at times with all the recent updates, so yeah overall I'm disappointed by the Android tablet space as of late.
Due the fact there's no earbud input hole I had to get airpods from onn at Walmart, but is there a way to use wired buds for this tablet? Helpful vid btw, thx
Just picked one up for $41 on black Friday. Its not very refined, but does all the basics, and for the money its hard to hate on it. This i would recommend for emergencies, or for kids..
I would have bought it if it had a better bezels. That screen is ugly, its a shame that the build quality is modern but the bezels kills it. Its like they just reused quite old panels.
This is basically landfill garbage lets be honest. But with some decent specs and without bezels you can park a truck in the form factor would have been nice.
People need to realize most tablets like this and the amazon tablets are not really made for gaming lol.... if you want a gaming machine get a steam deck or retro player lol.... no clue why people get mad about these tablets there meant to be E-readers and browse the net or youtube lol...
I’m gonna be honest, I’m proud of Walmart. They’ve been stepping up their game on quality
This tablet is the best one they made so far compared to the previous 7 models
@@shawnwhite3662no, it's bad
Now we just need one with SIM capability or an ONN phone
I have the Onn 11 and it's an iPad killer for me because I just don't need much computing power.

Can you use a stylus with it?
@KILLAHSYN yes, any regular stylus will work with it, I don't know about the s pen or apple pencil tho

Would this work great just as an e-reader? I download books from my local library app, and I’m this would be cheaper than a Kindle.

I’m quite happy with the previous model I bought a year ago. This one looks so much nicer though, I might upgrade next time I visit a Walmart.
I bought it for $39 on black friday sale and well worth it. You influenced me. Thanks
bezels are so huge but to be fair, it's a nice thing for a device like this as it will be easier to hold for entertainment purposes.
You still don't need bezels THAT big. This tablet is bad

@kimchithatisnicelyfermente4627 I know just saying could have still made them smaller

The Onn 7" is perfect as an E Reader.
Walmart should just make a completely unlocked budget Onn smartphone at this point.

for the price i think is cheaper than the smart frames they sell on amazon so you cna use it as a frame for digital pictures
They still make those? 😂

Does it have a GPS chip in it? May look at it as a motorcycle gps platform that I wouldn't be terribly concerned about.

Walmart's product page doesn't say which WiFi freqs and bands this uses. Does anyone know for sure?
Cool I'm going to buy one one question can you add your att micro sim card for unlimited data?
Has anyone found a way to remove the google search bar at the top of the home screen?
Thanks for the review. Would you say that this newer Onn version is better than the Amazon Fire 7?
I was thinking the same too

You can use usb c headphones and plug it into the usb c port
What size micro sd will these support up to? The box only says expendable but nowhere seems to have an answer
not sure, most are up to 1tb but I would think at least 512gb

I wonder if I could use it as a dash cam? 🤔
I've seen Walmart's ONN dash cams on clearance for as little as $12, and with a 32GB Micro SD it's far cheaper than this tablet for that task.

Only gripe is the display quality is horrendous.
my goodness that peel was painful.

can someone explain to me why bezels exist like dude just make the build smaller
I think it's use to make it more comfortable to hold it cause of multi touch
And you might accidentally touch the screen and it might cause some issue if you multiple times touch it
