I just did some UTV's.. Paperwork stated 2 units, get there they tell me it's 3. Come to find out the other person who was contacted to actually move 3 couldn't fit the 3rd one so they tried to finesse me with just taking the extra one. I ended up getting compensated but had to hound the broker and had to talk to the branch manager at delivery but hey... Gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm planning on retiring from the Navy in two years and strongly considering getting into trucking. I don't need to make a lot of money because I'll have my retirement and my wife works. My father drove truck on and off for 20 years (1980-2000) as a company driver and Owner/operator. I'm thinking of going to CDL school, then drive for a company for a year to see if it's for me. If it suits me, then buy my own truck. What are your thoughts?

Do you think this is a good time to get in the Trucking business?, I've been thinking about it. I'd work for a company first of course.
When is it ever the “right time”? Do remember, keep a low overhead with all the changes in trucking, everyone’s hustle isn’t the same, do your own research and count your own money.
If you can keep low overhead, don't have crazy personal expenses it's possible. I'm doing hotshot and my wife's doing office related tasks plus helps me with daily things and we have been able to start 6 months ago with diesel at it's highest 5.50 and up and have found success in our short time. Now diesel is at 3.77 by me and this is definitely a bump to profits
