Congrats Miriam, long time subscriber. Blessings and a full and quick recovery to you and Deepak. I have also had four c-sections and some vaginal births in between. I have also not been able to breastfeed right away. When you are ready and able and if you desire to do so, with persistence you can, I have had to build up my milk supply from not feeding and from not feeding enough. The key is to feed the baby from the breasts often, every feed you should feed the baby on one side and when he gets fussy or seems like he stops suckling feed him on the other and then once he stops suckling, switch to the other and when he stops suckling switch back to the other do this until his or her little fists are open or the baby comes off the breasts on their own. This will also build up your milk supply without any galactagogues or artificial breasts pumping. You will see in the beginning the baby will get fussy (which means to switch breasts) but before long he will be satisfied more quickly. The less milk he is getting he is also going to feed more often, make sure to eat lots of protein which is good for your recovery and weight gain with baby (at least 60 grams a day) and if baby is not passing enough urine and stools, feed more and eat more protein. I have six kids and more recently a five month old and I learned this method and wow, invaluable. I know how uncomfortable it is and this last c-section was the most painful but God has shown me and taught me so much about mothering and about life and about breastfeeding than he ever has through it and I know He is doing great things for you! By the next video we'll have a baby with us .... I'm so... happy... This is no less than a sister's delivery for me and I've been thinking about you guys and praying that it all goes well. Although it might have been so painful which again,hurts to think but I'm trying to look at the bright side, we have our little one out and needless to say I can't wait to see our bundle of happiness and blessings!!
