- We finally get to wrap our FIRST C8 CORVETTE STINGRAY - brought to us by the great guys from Daily Downshift. We chose to go with XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF to protect the full front end. This video I will show you how EASY it is to wrap the hood of a new C8 Corvette Stringray. I will have 2 other videos demonstrating how to wrap the fenders and the front bumper with all the trim.
Do you like the videos we do?

Need how to wrap edges video.
I'll be getting PPF & ceramic when my C8 HTC eventually gets built...looking forward to seeing the next several vids so I can see what the final product will look like.
great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Can you tape video on applying PPF to bottom of lower rocker panels? C8 owners will experience the most road rash in this area.
When you get around to the front fender do you remove the headlights and the Corvette emblem in the front? Are you doing the backs of the mirrors?
Are you spraying tack or slip under the PPF @1:50 mins? I trying to understand the steps if I tackle this myself. Thanks!
Heyyyyy!
Do you suggest plus or plus 10 on a C8??
Thanks!!
Great video although I'm curious. Could the hood have been wrapped with a smaller PPF then trimmed? The extra large piece seems wasteful especially after the trimmed discarded parts.
The hood is about 60” wide, you need that extra unless you cut it with the plotter and use the rest for headlights and other small parts.
when my C8 comes in, im going to do the exact same thing, is it worth it to drop the full 6-8k to do the ENTIRE car or is the front end alone all the typical person needs? vague question i know...garage queen in hawaii and weekend duty only will be her fate.
Hey Brent,
I guess it depends on how much value you see in the product. No doubt, the best protection you can have is wrapping the full car... but it comes with a cost. Minimum I would do is the front end, as it sees the most exposure to rocks and debris.
The PPF Channel appreciate it and thank you for the reply. Front minimum for sure.
Do you need a steamer to wrap the edges?
No you can spray them with a tac solution and then wrap them. No steam needed for it.
Where can I buy bulk film for hood?
I’m not sure where you are located but check out driveprotected.shop
