Fun fact: Before the dupe glitch used to duplicate Dragonbane was discovered, speedrunners would actually play as Orcs for their Berserker Rage power in the Alduin fight, since only one Dragonbane was too slow to defeat him and the player would no doubt die. But once they were able to dupe Dragonbane, they could defeat Alduin without Berserker Rage and instead played High Elves for the faster movement speed.

Hey dude, noticed a glitch you didn't mention. I saw that Waz waited 21 hours to pass midnight and also get the game to a certain time for NPC's to be in the correct spot for later in the run. Don't think it was mentioned but just wanted to explain what was happening there in case people were wondering!

@@icecreamget I think you may have misunderstood the intracacies of this glitch. Basically, he waited for 21 hours to pass midnight in order to have NPCs appear in specific locations later in the run. Hope that helps clarify things!

I've watched a number of Skyrim speedruns over the years, and man, it really is crazy to see horse tilting be a thing and the comparison between "Let's get married to remain active in the scroll cutscene" and "I play the game in X language because it has the quickest lines out of all languages for the scroll cutscene"...
Man, I've always always wished someone could explain what the hell is going on in speedruns. And then I discover that you not only do this but also add so much entertainment value and context. Also this insane run is perfect for this. Bravo sir
Waz is actually insane at Skyrim and his consistency with the glitches in the game are unfathomable. I can spend half an hour doing some of these glitches over and over and will only get them once or twice and Waz gets every single one first or second try in just about all of his runs. Massive respect for this dude the absolute goat of Skyrim speedrunning

For those "flashback" sections you should've added some kind of audio filter. That way it sounds clearer that it's a flashback, and it'll sound hilarious when the second flashback happens and there's a double-filter

1. Insulting himself with a sexually degrading name
2. Reassuring his viewers who may have suicidal ideation that no matter how they may feel in the moment the world isn't a cruel place and that they owe it to themselves to try to see the good in it and that no matter how bad their situation may be it can will get better.

About a certain man who claimed to be God and then rose from death to 500 witnesses? I'd recommend checking out Michael Licona's book 'The Resurrection of Jesus: A New Historiographical Approach'.

Regarding load warping, I think it might be useful to highlight the map transition more.
A map transition loads the next map while keeping the character intact.
Loading a save loads the map and the character from the save.
Load warping is doing both at the same time. All data from the save is loaded, except the map transition still kicks in, and the end result is a teleport.

I often put these videos on in the background and totally tune out, only to pay close attention as soon as the antidepression interlude comes in. I love speedrunning, especially all the tech which is lovingly explained here, but for me these videos are truly worthwhile for tomato's authentic, lively, and smart personality.
Please never stop with the feeling interlude. It's a reminder I, and many others, need. The fact that I get it from a speedrunner named Tomatoanus and not from my shrink or family or friends is troubling, but all the more reason to keep the interlude in every video.
no matter what anyone says, NEVER stop saying it every video. i was watching one of your videos and even though i was lucky to be doing well, your message to never give up and that things will get better showed me that this channel will always be a safe space for me. my challenges and my struggles will be understood and i always have a place where i know i can feel. thank you for saying this every video, it means a lot.

Speed runners can exploit the save system, sure, but that doesn’t mean it’s broken. For everyone else just playing the game “normally” it works just fine
