Just a bit of advice. Purchase the smoker that fits your needs and more importantly, your lifestyle. As much as I would love to sit outside tossing logs in a stick burner (i.e. offset smoker) every 45 minutes while drinking a beer, my lifestyle simply does not align with that. On the weekends, I have to take the kids to their sporting events. During the week, I have my full-time job. The insulated smoker works for my lifestyle. I can set my fireboard at my desired temp and monitor the temps from my phone. That works for me. While I am certain that a stick burner will produce a slightly better product, I know that an insulated smoker will get more use because its approach fits with how I live my life today. I have heard that using a fireboard with an offset smoker is doable, it is really not ideal. The insulated smoker holds temps very well and requires way less of my time.

What about strong magnets?
What about using a magnet to hold your handle up
The issue is that the pull bar that the handle contacts is non-magnetic stainless. Perhaps I could adhere a small piece of magnetic metal to that, but I'm hesitant to go that route.
did you consider pitmaker ? if you did what did you like or not like?
I have heard of the Vault, but I don't know much more about the company. I did not shop Pitmaker.
I’m jealous
Did you sell the stick burner???
Yes, since I'm a town-houser I only have room for one dream pit in the garage at a time. Had to make room!
He’s back
Man that thing is nice!!! BTW, what happened to the offset you had from LonestarGrillz? Still got that? It's also a great piece of art and equipment all in one!
I only have room in the garage for one smoker, and the offset just didn't fit my lifestyle. No time for sticks. But it was a beautiful cooker!!
@@Texas2.5 man that sucks to hear. You and t-roy are the reason I wanted a LSG. I was luck enough to find one used but in great shape. Have done 2 cooks so far and she's been a breeze.
I hope to have one again someday! Just wanted my primary smoker to be a little easier on time commitment. Thrilled that you got yours! Congrats and let me know what you cook next👉🏼💨
