I sold all my Leica and Fuji gear for the ZF and 6iii. I am estatic with both cameras. I love the 6iii for sports and portraits. I use the ZF as an everyday camera for street and travel. Nikon is back in a big way, and I am so happy using them. Try FX lenses and manual-focus lenses with the neat manual-focusing tools.
I sold all of my Fuji xt5, xs20, xe3 and lenses. Bought the Zf and the z30. Zf for paid work, z30 for webcam, walk around and short videos. My workflow is so much better now. AF has been such a joy compared to Fuji. Colors are amazing.
How is the Z6iii auto focus? That is the one thing holding me back. Fuji is terrible. I own Fuji. Sony is 10/10. I also own Sony. How would you rate the Nikon AF?
@ my Nikon ZF with expeed 7 processor is amazing. If AF is main concern and your like Nikon, then look at Z6iii, ZF, Z8 and Z9 for full frame and Z50 ii which all have the new processor.
I also bought a Z6III despite the dynamic range problems and I love it. I also own a Z8 which I also love. The z6III has become my everyday carry camera. I keep my Voigtlander 40 f/1.2 on it and it is a great everyday use camera.
I've had one for a few months now, and using it for primarily landscape photography (this also includes a flurry of sunrise and sunset photographs). Honestly, coming from a Z7II (and having a Z8), the step-back in DR versus the Z6II has never been an issue at all for me, even in those high contrast situations. Is it there? Yes but only in the most extreme cases. If anything, the only reason why I reached for the other body at times wasn't because of the better DR but just a simple case of "I would like having more megapixels."
It’s always wonderful to hear exuberance in your voice, Matti. I fell in love with photography long before I worried about photographic outcomes. Hi Matti :) I have been shooting Nikon (mostly) since 1967.... As a Photo Journalist n Freelance n Documentarian,, I used Nikon (1969-now) !!!!! But the Nikon Z6III has added the opportunity to have a camera that can obtain focus almost instantaneously, IN NEAR TOTAL DARKNESS (or whenever)(This allows Me to get the Decisive Moment "Cartier Bresson") !!!! Hi Matti, I'm pleased you got a good Deal on this Nikon Z6 111. It's a great camera and you'll have many great moments with it. Thanks Matti for sharing this video. 😊
I was also going between the Zf and the Z6 III, and I chose the Z6 III too. I really did not notice any downgrade in picture quality compared to my Z5 that I had. I also like the memory for saving the user settings, and more customizable buttons. The ergonomics are better also. Your video is right on for me! Enjoy your new camera.
I agree with most of what you say Matti. I tried the ZF but it was truly awful. It was akin to Nikon putting all of the cameras of the past in a washing machine, turning it on and they all jumbled together to make a contraption - that was the ZF. I'm a pro shooter who uses two Z6ii's. They are awesome cameras and I love them to bits. Because I shoot all fast moving gigs, bands, events, I was looking for a slight update on the AFC - that was the only thing. Having said that, with the Z6ii, I only miss about 2% of images because of blur. I tried the 6iii on a shoot, and it too, I didn't like. When I'm on a pro shoot, I have the battery grip on my main camera with the 24-70 Z 2.8. I like the bulk of the grip with the bigger lens. However, when I travel and do street, I need a small form camera, When I take the grip off, my 6ii is a small form camera - the Z6iii is not. Secondly, here in Australia it is nearly $4,000, body only - oh boy. Thirdly - and this is the deal-breaker - the wretched, stinking, selfie screen. I could not get used to shooting with the screen sticking out the side and my camera off centre - horrible experience. Nikon threw all of us photo only guys under the bus. I'm happily sticking with my two 6ii's for the foreseeable future, or until Nikon get some sense and bring out the 7iii with the flip out screen.
Thanks for sharing. If I do a straight currency conversion the Z6III is cheaper in AUS than here in Finland. The flippy screen is not ideal for photography but you'll get used to it. Some Fuji and Sony models have a screen that does both tilt and flip. That should be in every camera.
That screen that you hate on the Z6iii is a godsend for me when taking low angle portrait shots, i do have the Z6i/Z6ii/Z7ii and the new Z6iii, the focus is blazing fast compared to previous Z6/Z7’s..i just shoot many fall foliage portraits/senior and the flippy screen helps a lot going down and up angles..specially on portrait mode the screen menu’s rotates helps me frame better and see the settings on the fly
Glad to hear you got new camera! Looks good in hands. I am currently debating with myself how to upgrade Zfc. Can't decide wether it'll be new Z5 or used Z7. New Z6III is way too expensive to my current usage. I can't justify the price. Nothing wrong with Zfc I just want to have full frame for thoughtful photography. Future plan is to do casual with X-M5 and thoughtful with Z5/Z7/x/y/z. This way I stay in Nikon but explore new system with Fujifilm.
I would pick up a used Z6ii. The price jump between the Z5 and Z6ii is only marginal but the Z6ii is definitely steps above the Z5. Or, if you like APS-C (nothing wrong with that), a Z50ii?
Congrats on your new camera. Excellent buy. Enjoy it. The DR discussion is based on some lab charts but in reality it’s absolutely great. Even the AF seems better than in Canon cameras if you don’t consider the latest releases. I understand the problem with the ergonomics and the heft of Z f. I think the images you shared with us are gorgeous. Thank you. I’m looking forward to seeing more of them. I need some inspiration for the grey winter days.
Hi Matti, interesting to see you reviewing Nikon. I'm a former Panasonic G85 (still like), now OM1. I've been thinking about trying out the Nikon Z50ii for travel. Would be interested in your thoughts about it in the future. Thanks for this video!
This is not a review. I'm just talking about my new camera😀 It's nearly impossible for me to borrow Nikon gear here in Finland so it's not likely I'll be reviewing the latest Nikon cameras. I can't afford to buy all of them😀
for video when you shoot raw, Nikon doesn't do any noise reduction, while all other camera brands have noise reduction baked in, even for raw. So for video, in raw the nikon has a DR of around 10. once you use coparative noise reduction as the other brands, it shoots to around 13, which is more than the canon less than the sony, but it's what you might expect. also it has about 1 stop less DR than the nikon z6ii, at base ISO, it's a better camera for low light though lol. It also has around 1,5 stops more at base ISO than the NIkon D6! so.. ya all in all it's major league bullshit.
I also tested the ZF and I didn’t like the handling. It needs an extra grip and even with it it will never feel as good as the Z5 for example. I ended up buying a Z8 second hand for a extremely good price a week later 😀 I didn't sell the Z5 though, I want to have a purely photography camera that doesn't tempt me to switch to video and add 'decision' stress
@@mattisulanto to be honest it's better than my skills as a photographer/videographer 😅 and it's the first camera that I wish I had a printed manual to read it... But it's nice, really nice
If didn’t already have a Nikon Z8 and Zf, I would be all in on the Z6iii. The image quality from Nikons since the D750 has been stellar! Every photographer I follow that has the Z6Iii has been very positive about their experience. Looking at DXO graphs and nit picky reviews about dynamic range or AF vs. Sony or whatever has gotten silly. All new cameras are excellent! Get the one that fits your style and feel. It’s a very tactile and personal experience and I appreciate that you stress this value. It’s also really great to see Nikon building up their Z line and listening to the market.
I just got the Zf -- like it a lot , and I think it was a good choice. I have had a Nikon F4 and still have a F3, and so the using experience is quite the same, despite the million more possibilities -- anyway. I handled the Z6III in a shop and it feels very good in the hand, of course better than the ZF. But that is no problem for me ( will use a handgrip for certain situations) --- but the image quality is actually really a downgrade for the Z6III in certain situations ! And the price was also much better now for the ZF -- so clear winner for me !
I was about to purchase a second Z6II body as a backup, when the Z6III came out. I bought the III and I'm glad I did. It is a big improvement in many ways. In addition to speed, the image quality looks better to me. The only thing I don't like is the swing-out LCD. But I'm learning to live with it.
Great video explaining why you brought the Nikon Z6 III. I agree with you that ergonomics, balance and user interface is important in a camera. You need to enjoy the experience of shooting. The dynamic range in this camera is only less then the previous Z6 II in the range of ISO 100 until 800. Out of that range it is the same as the previous camers. Most will not notice this. Only reviewers that measure the dynamic range, to compare advances in sensor technology, has notice this. Chris Nichols and Jordan Drake also measured it but they said most users will not notice it. Only a small group that shoots in extreme conditions recovering highlights and shadows will notice it.
I preferred going with the ZF myself, more so given the price difference locally 2k euro for the zf + 40mm f2 vs about 2500 euro for the z6iii body only I went on a mountain hike with zf and a 24-70 f4 last weekend and got some superb landscape shots, I really love it and am glad that you are also enjoying the nikon strangeness enough to have wanted the upgrade
I have a Z9 and was using a Z6 as a backup or travel camera when I wanted something smaller. I bought the Z6III the day it came out and love it! Every camera has its quirks, strengths and weaknesses. It all comes down to learn how to use the camera you have. The camera doesn't make you take better pictures, you use the camera to become a better photographer. Great video, love how you talk about holding a camera. So many people come to me and ask if they should buy the camera I have and I always say, go to your camera store, pick up different cameras, feel which one is best in your hands. So many cameras today are great but they all feel a little different. First time coming across your videos, look forward to checking out more of them.
Dynamic range is completely misunderstood. You get more information from a low dynamic range sensor as long as the lighting fits within it. So for a flat image, you can add contrast with less artifacts than from a high dynamic range sensor.
I really wish that Z6 III could keep the tilting LCD from the Z6 II or maybe even use the same LCD as the Z8! Unfortunately, it's not the case. I feel the same way about the Zf. Fingers crossed that future Nikon models like Z7 III will feature the fantastic LCD design of the Z8!
Congratulations on the new Z6 III, it's beautiful camera. I almost went with the Z6 III, but decided on the Z7 II instead, as it is now cheaper than the Z6 III and has the 46 mega pixel sensor like the Z8. Since I shoot mostly portraits I didn't need the faster focusing capabilities of the Z6 III. I'm extremely happy with my Z7II. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos of you using your great new camera!
Thanks! I just wanted the latest and greatest😅 The Z7II is beautiful and a great value, no doubt and you can't have too many megapixels. Now that we have winter I can test how weather proof the Z6III really is😀
Great to hear you talking about how a camera feels in the hand. I've advised many people to buy the camera that feels best to them as that way they'll be more likely to actually pick it up and use it.
I traded my Z5 for the Z6iii. I loved the feel of the Z5 and have the same comfort with the Z6iii. I haven't experienced any dynamic range issues because I have been careful with the use of high ISO when shooting landscape images. The auto focus is awesome. I am happy with the decision to buy this camera.
I have z8 z6ii z30. Yes z8 is amazing for anything out of the ordinary. Yet I still find myself using the z6ii as my take everywhere camera due to the smaller size. I almost feel the z6iii hate is a conspiracy.
I have a nikon z6iii and I love it really, just want to ask you a thing that whenever I am shooting basketball matches under lights in the evening and using burst mode both in raw and jpeg on silent mode I am facing flickering on my photo, what should I do???
It must be the silent shutter (e-shutter) but I think you really should go to some Nikon discussion group or use Google for an answer. I'm not the right person to answer you, because I just bought the Z6III.
Great camera. As you have said, new cameras these days are all that good, you must have to pick one that fits you ergonomically and also makes you want to go out and shoot. Cameras are way more than spec sheets and test charts. The internet has written many cameras off without even using them…..all based on specs. If you love it, im sure you will take some awesome shots with it! We really are looking at the law of diminishing returns on the latest models; they’re all really good!
Nice video, thanks! Funny you didn’t mention the super detailed and bright viewfinder (maybe I missed it), which the Zf doesn’t have. I have a Zfc and have ended up only using the front and rear control dials as usual, so I have minimal thought swapping Z cameras...(yes the auto iso is only menu selected, but if you had bought a Zf this can be selected on a function button). The other thing Nikon haters on RUclips don’t mention is that the lower dynamic range (below800iso) only happens with mechanical shutter engaged...
Excellent video on your opinion on why you chose the z6 III. I currently have the z6 II and a z8. At some point I wasn't to sell my z6 II and replace it with the III. I did consider the zf but ergonomics comes into play. The zf is fine with light lenses but becomes difficult to handle with long heavy lenses. I don't want to be restricted to just certain lenses. If I only did street photography and never shot above 85mm then it would be ok. I wasn't the same button layout and menu as my z8 in my next camera. I recently got back into film. I now have a Canon AE-1, a Minolta SRT 202, a Nikon FM2N and an F4. If I want to show down and use something with a tactile feel I can just use one of those. I don't need a retro camera because I have the real deal with those camerasFMI just bought the 2 Nikon cameras recently. The F4 still has a roll of Fujii Velvia slide film in it. That FM2N is the sweetest feeling film camera I've ever shot with. The feel of the film advance is so satisfying. It's so smooth and a short throw compared to how clunky the AE-1 feels or how long the throw is on the Minolta. I bought a 28mm for all 3 bodies. I have a 28mm for my z6 II as well as the 40mm. I noticed you use those lenses too. I love that 40mm with the way the photos look. I put the image quality right up there with my 85mm. I've been following Matt for a couple of years now. Any time there's something new out I know he will have a video on it. He does a great job on his channel.
I bought a Nikon Z6iii as my second camera, or actually my third, since I also kept the Z6ii as a backup. The Z9 is my primary camera for photography work. To my surprise, I end up taking the Z6iii with me instead of the Z9 because it's so fun to shoot with, just as you said. The Z9, although a fantastic camera, is sometimes too heavy and cumbersome to carry around. I believe I could manage 99% of my photography work with the Z6iii. The video capabilities are also more than sufficient for me. And if I need to shoot videos with two cameras simultaneously, I now have an excellent pair for that 😊👍
I bought a Zf which has, I believe, the same sensor as the Z6. Comming from Leica, I was enthousiastic about this camera, especially because of the user interface, which is much better than anything else. But you are right, it is much to big especially with the Nikon lenses. This said, I loved to use it for some time, but finally returned to my Leica M and SL. This said, I always had Nikon before I turned to Leica, so I like the company. The image quality is good, sometimes a bit oversharpened, and it comes handy that is has video
The Zf is my slow down and relax camera that I seem to prefer using my primes on it. I have a full spectrum converted Z5 and I really like the ergo of that camera. I can fully understand why the Z6iii made sense for you. 😊 Congratulation on getting the camera.
I all ready had three nice Voigtlander primes when I got my ZF. They swapped right over with a cheap adapter. Saving up right now for native Nikon mount manual focus lenses. When you nail focus the results are "briliant".
Wonderful video. I would love to see some landscaping pictures later on. I traded in my Zf for this camera and I can’t tell any, ABSOLUTELY “0” difference with DR compared to my Zf or my OM-1. And I shoot landscapes!!
Despite the size gain I am glad I upgraded to the Z6iii. I kept my Z6 for night shots and my Z8 covers the rest. There is a nice colour that comes out of the Z6iii files.
I came from a bridge camera to m43 and to buying a z5 and tbh im still not sure what poor dynamic range is. Its definitely not something that jumps out at me😀
I get Z6iii in low price at 1,669 us dollar (58,430 Thai Baht) at 11.11 Shopping Online. At first i am looking for S5ii , fora year i waited for discount, but in a week i’ve decide to buy Z6iii instead. It was new to get to know the Nikon system, and fir a month i still try to customize it to my hand like i use Lumix G9, To be hornets, i love color profile of Lumix, Leica tone. But Z6iii is good at their spec and price. So i bought z6iii.
Unfortunately I got the Z8 first and then the Z6iii. They left too many important control features off the Z6iii which, for my needs, make it too hard to use.
@mattisulanto "Recall Shooting Functions" and "Cycle AF-area mode". On my Z8 I have the F1 button set with "Recall Shooting Functions" configured to 3d Tracking with Subject Detection turned off so I can lock focus on whatever I select without it jumping to a person or face. On my old Z6's this was done with Subject Tracking to lock onto an item. And it is done with a press of the button and pressing it again to turn it off. On my Z6iii the closest I can get is 3d Tracking with whatever Subject Detection the camera is already set to and you have to hold the button which means a back button focuser like me needs 3 fingers working to shoot. The F2 button is set to "Cycle AF-area mode" which let's me Cycle through wide area AF and 3d Tracking with Subject Detection turned on and this gives me total control over focusing for 99.9% of events that I cover.
@@timgimbert3073 Thanks! I noticed the same, that the subject detect can't be set on a button. I think that's a strange oversight on such a versatile camera. Even stranger if it can bet set on a button on other Nikon models.
The thing that bugs me is that it costs 3000 Euro over here. I know photography ain't cheap but this is to much. The Z5 is now like 900 Euro. Sounds much better.
Totally different cameras. If you don’t need the benefits of the Z6III, don’t get it. But to complain about the price for the amount of these two cameras seems odd to me. Nikon makes a range of cameras and prices. The Z6III is priced right for the features in comparison to Sony, Canon and other brands.
Hey Matti, it seems to me, that you're on search of what's the direction for you in photography. As I was on this point, I' ve tried all companies like Canon, Sony, Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic. After a while I realised, that doesn't help me. I was internally unsatisfied. It was not a question of which gear I should use. Every new camerasystem only satisfied me some months/ a year. Then I concentrated on only one company - selling all others. And I go back on the not rated too highly Canon M-System with only to cameras, 7 lenses: small, lihgtweight and most sympathic in handling to me. You know, it is a expiring system with not much gear/future prospects. But enough fun - not asking, what ist the "latest and greatest"... Could it be, that you are now a little bit at the point of searching? Wish you good luck - hope you find the essential - if this is the problem/solution for you. 😅Christoph
Congratulations, this camera is at the moment the best buy for the bucks, at least for hybrid shooters. If you're interested in video centric Z6III content, check the camera conspiracies channel. He don't liked Nikon mirrorless, cause too expensive or too low quality in video specs. But with the Zf, he fall in love to Nikon as a videographer and RUclipsr. Than he bought the Z6III, and its for his content the best camera out there, next to his Sony ZVE1.
Ah, the ZF or the Z6 III for that is the question. I have the ZF so that is my disclaimer. I could trade it for the Z6 III but I understand my use case. What I can comment on is the fun factor. By trade I am a carpenter and what I do with my fingers is important the ZF is intrinsically more satisfying to use. On the practical side the ZF costs considerably less for a complete system than the Z6 III, that is camera, lens and media. If you are going to be making long videos and 4k 60 with out a crop the ZF wont do that. If you do sports and wildlife the Z6 III will do it better. Do you live in the jpeg world or is shooting raw your "thing". If you shoot a lot of raw then the Z6 three would make you happier. If I had the money I would get the Z6 III and give it to the 2nd shooter on event photography events and keep the ZF for myself. No doubt the Z6 III is a great camera. Carefully consider your use case and chose wisely.
Shooting narrative...I want everything shot on my morrorless with next to nothing to look like it was shot on an Alexa with a Hollywood film crew. I'm one that will miss the extra stop of dynamic range. I love the way the way the red scarlet looks...until you need some dynamic range. Then I would spend 3X not to have that problem. If you don't need to "fool" your audience into thinking what I said up top, and the video can look like a well shot video...not multi-million dollar cinema, then z6iii might even be overkill.
@@mattisulanto Yes, I am still happy with my z6. Tracking my 2 year kid is the only difficulty I am facing with my z6. I hope Z6iii will perform better in that, but it could have been something more in 2024.
This Dynamic range problem is pure propaganda. unreal that people are still on it. No one said the nikon D6 had a dynamic range problem and it's way way less than the nikon z6iii. also.. the nikon d800e has more dynamic range than 99% of cameras in production today, you don't hear people going out of their way to get one.
Thanks for sharing. At the time of its release the D6 was more of curiosity (the last DSLR) than anything else and that's why it probably was not tested or scrutinized so hard. According to Photons To Photos site the D800 dynamic range is similar to most current FF cameras, better than some and worse than others. Anyway, I agree that dynamic range is overrated. Back in the day I shot countless assignments on the Canon 5D from advertising to editorial and everyone was happy with the photos. The 5D dynamic range is garbage compared to any modern camera😀
@@mattisulanto not the D800, the D800e! ok if you think d6 is a bad example the D5 has way worse DR than the Z6iii. the z6iii is almost identical with the the canon 1dx mark ii. i has identical DR to the nikon d4s. lol what are we even talking about. the D5 d4s and 1dx II are legendary cameras.
@@Juventinos The D800 and the D800E both have virtually the same dynamic range. By the way, I used to own two D800s back in the day and shot countless of assignments on those too😀
My Nikon issue is the autofocus. I have used the Canon R3, the Nikon Z8 (fw 2), and Sony A74. Nikon keeps lagging on autofocus in ways that are... annoying. I used the Z8 in very dark conditions with an F4 lens, and it didn't do much better than my old EOS R for autofocus. The R3 was the winner in the dark, with the A74 almost identical. Those were rentals. Ultimately I bought a Canon R8 when I discovered the autofocus and sensor was the same as the R3. I'm pulling for Nikon, but I can't swap systems when Canon keeps giving me flagship performance at half the price of Nikon and Sony. What I would love to see is a direct comparison of the R8 and Z6iii 😊
Thanks for sharing. So far I'm super happy with the Z6III AF. Maybe the A7IV is a tad ahead in some situations but the Z6III impresses be nonetheless. Let's see how I feel once I've used the Z6III more😀

Thanks! I really liked the Z5 and it's a really good value, in my opinion. Never tried the Z7.
I would pick up a used Z6ii. The price jump between the Z5 and Z6ii is only marginal but the Z6ii is definitely steps above the Z5. Or, if you like APS-C (nothing wrong with that), a Z50ii?
@@thomasa.243 I was thinking used Z6II too. We'll see what I get. I am in no hurry.
Thanks. Now that I'm here in Finland for the winter I have to take full advantage of that. So winter photos are definitely in the works.
I can't afford to buy all of them😀
I love the Z6iii, but was wondering about the ZF. Seasoned, balanced, useful perspective. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Whats the problem with the dynamic range? I read that it 14.8 which is very good.
I have no idea but I saw many videos about the bad dynamic range😀
for video when you shoot raw, Nikon doesn't do any noise reduction, while all other camera brands have noise reduction baked in, even for raw.
I ended up buying a Z8 second hand for a extremely good price a week later 😀
I didn't sell the Z5 though, I want to have a purely photography camera that doesn't tempt me to switch to video and add 'decision' stress
Thanks! The Z8 must be super nice and a good backup for the Z5😀
@@mattisulanto to be honest it's better than my skills as a photographer/videographer 😅 and it's the first camera that I wish I had a printed manual to read it... But it's nice, really nice
@@RamonLinares Most new cameras are better than most photographers😅 Good to hear you enjoy the Z8.
Thanks. Nikon is doing great right now indeed.
Thanks for sharing. That's why it's great we have so much choice. Everyone can find their own favorite😀
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. I saw some graphs and it was exactly like that. No problem if you know what you are doing😀
👍 Matt Irwin channel is very inspiring and informative no matter which camera one uses.
Yep, Matt is such a nice guy.
He's OK. Bit of a Nikon shill though
@@huepix Am I ?
I preferred going with the ZF myself, more so given the price difference locally
2k euro for the zf + 40mm f2 vs about 2500 euro for the z6iii body only
I went on a mountain hike with zf and a 24-70 f4 last weekend and got some superb landscape shots, I really love it and am glad that you are also enjoying the nikon strangeness enough to have wanted the upgrade
Thanks. Good to hear the Zf does it for you.
Thanks. Yeah, every camera is good. You just have pick the right one for you.
Dynamic range is completely misunderstood. You get more information from a low dynamic range sensor as long as the lighting fits within it. So for a flat image, you can add contrast with less artifacts than from a high dynamic range sensor.
Thanks for sharing your expert tips on this.
For a still photography shooter, Z6iii or the Z7ii? I do more sports than landscape or street photography.
I chose the Z6III but I can't choose your camera😀
I really wish that Z6 III could keep the tilting LCD from the Z6 II or maybe even use the same LCD as the Z8! Unfortunately, it's not the case. I feel the same way about the Zf. Fingers crossed that future Nikon models like Z7 III will feature the fantastic LCD design of the Z8!
Thanks. Yeah, the Z8 screen design is good but the Sony A9III is even better, because it can face forward.
Thanks!
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your new camera.
But... Why did you go with Nikon?
I thought you were a Sony user for your work.
I have Nikon, Panasonic, Ricoh and Sony😀
I traded my Z5 for the Z6iii. I loved the feel of the Z5 and have the same comfort with the Z6iii. I haven't experienced any dynamic range issues because I have been careful with the use of high ISO when shooting landscape images. The auto focus is awesome. I am happy with the decision to buy this camera.
Thanks! You went the same route then. Good to hear you are happy with the Z6III.
These are really nice pictures. I'm still learning on my em1 mark 2 though 😅
Thanks! The EM-1 Mk2 is great and I'm sure you'll take many awesome photos on that😀

I have z8 z6ii z30. Yes z8 is amazing for anything out of the ordinary. Yet I still find myself using the z6ii as my take everywhere camera due to the smaller size. I almost feel the z6iii hate is a conspiracy.
Thanks for sharing. I have briefly handled the Z8 and found it on the large side for me.
@mattisulanto Ok Sir
Thanks!
I've been loving my Z6III. Recently got myself a Z8 too.
Thanks. The VF is super nice indeed. I'll probably get back to this camera in another video after I have used it more and have more to say.
Congratulations to you. I hope it brings lots of joy and fun to you
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your backstory and thanks for the kind words too.
And if I need to shoot videos with two cameras simultaneously, I now have an excellent pair for that 😊👍
Thanks for sharing. Lucky you, can choose between three great cameras😀
Thanks for sharing. If you want the best retro UI go for Leica M or Leica Q. In my opinion anyway😀
The Zf is my slow down and relax camera that I seem to prefer using my primes on it. I have a full spectrum converted Z5 and I really like the ergo of that camera. I can fully understand why the Z6iii made sense for you. 😊 Congratulation on getting the camera.
Thanks for sharing.
I all ready had three nice Voigtlander primes when I got my ZF. They swapped right over with a cheap adapter. Saving up right now for native Nikon mount manual focus lenses. When you nail focus the results are "briliant".
I return it back because pictures were very noisy especially in shadows. VLDR
Wonderful video.
I would love to see some landscaping pictures later on.
I traded in my Zf for this camera and I can’t tell any, ABSOLUTELY “0” difference with DR compared to my Zf or my OM-1.
And I shoot landscapes!!
Thanks for sharing.
Despite the size gain I am glad I upgraded to the Z6iii. I kept my Z6 for night shots and my Z8 covers the rest. There is a nice colour that comes out of the Z6iii files.
Wow! You have a Nikon for every imaginable situation😀
I came from a bridge camera to m43 and to buying a z5 and tbh im still not sure what poor dynamic range is. Its definitely not something that jumps out at me😀
Keep on shooting and do not even think of dynamic range😀
Matt Irvin has a great channel. Never met in person however.
Great video, I think you made a fantastic choice.
Thanks! I think I have to agree with you😀
I get Z6iii in low price at 1,669 us dollar (58,430 Thai Baht) at 11.11 Shopping Online. At first i am looking for S5ii , fora year i waited for discount, but in a week i’ve decide to buy Z6iii instead. It was new to get to know the Nikon system, and fir a month i still try to customize it to my hand like i use Lumix G9,
To be hornets, i love color profile of Lumix, Leica tone. But Z6iii is good at their spec and price. So i bought z6iii.
The Z6iii seems to have better dynamic range than the Canon R6ii although the R6 iso goes up 2/3rds higher, where most people avoid anyway.
Unfortunately I got the Z8 first and then the Z6iii. They left too many important control features off the Z6iii which, for my needs, make it too hard to use.
Interesting. What control features are you talking about?
Does Z6iii really have that bad dynamic range?
In my opinion no, which is what I said in the video too.
Matti you are a good photographer and I am sure 14 stops of DR will be enough.... just enjoy your time with the Z6-3
Thanks for your kind words. Yeah, I think I'll manage somehow😀
the best possible choice!
I hope so😀
The DR ain't even a big problem at all.
It sure looks like that.
When people complain about the dynamic range it’s in comparison to thr z6II. overall the dynamic range is not bad
I will stay with my beloved Nikon Z7II and Nikon Z8
😅Christoph
Thanks. I have actually used the Canon M system and it really is quite nice like you said.
Nice. I used mine for the first today 👍🙂
Awesome! I hope it was enjoyable.

Thanks! I have to check out that.

What video improvements would you like to see?
@@mattisulanto Ya.

Thanks for sharing you insights on this.
Anyone who bought the original Z5s and Z6s has more money than sense.
Thanks for sharing your insights.
I didn't understood what you want to say in this video.

also.. the nikon d800e has more dynamic range than 99% of cameras in production today, you don't hear people going out of their way to get one.

No way, you too?😅
My Nikon issue is the autofocus.
