Does Jeph really make that noise? We have 2 of Jeff's relatives at my house! They love kitty food or dog food. They do eat ticks.
I used to live in a tiny house. There was a hole in my kitchen by my hot water heater. So one night😂 my cat's go crazy and I get up and on my kitchen counter was a TINY JEPH?!!!!! So I made a deal with him(noticeably male) if I gave him steak I get to pet him. He cooperated! He came back with his Mom and sister. I have photos of them on my Facebook. They ended up moving my tiny house to another city. I hope they live long and prosper. I LOVE our only North American marsupial. Maybe Doug and the business cats can make the girl Jephs pocket pouch blankets for their babies?

I've got a Ginger cat Paddy and POSSUMS visit our garden at night. Paddy is locked in at night. Possums running
across the galvanized tin roof. Sounds like they're drunk wearing gumboots!!

What great too is opposums eat fleas so they help the cats stay flea free😊 without having to pick them off the vats to do it. They're amazing ❤

I read that possums make noises just to communicate that they are present in an area. Heard the same is true of why coyotes howl.

Yeah it's all fun and games til he's in your crawl space trying to chew through your insulation and beams. You get to listen to that chewing plus walking around all night. Pest ppl put traps up there but rodent was found dead in the insulation, nowhere near a cage. Little rabies carrying bastard. Everything in the crawl space is sealed tight now. Certainly wouldn't encourage them unless your rabies shots are current.
