Oh my goodness, please put on shoes/boots with some sort of grip on the soles. This is one heck of a feat you men have accomplished in setting the cupola in place. Great work!!
I had the hiking boots on that I bought for my Norway trip a few years back. My boys said it was better for them to be bare foot. They were aware that I disagrees with them, but they are adults now and I didn't argue.

First though was gin-pole. Second was put 4 grk through the strap and lift a skid underneath. Third thought is I'm building it on the ground and reassembling it topside. Thanks for sharing. I had not yet figured out how to get one in place yet.
These came to us in the barn kit already assembled. It did pass through my mind to disassemble it to move it up to the top.
@@daddykirbs I looked at the kits, decided I wanted to do it the hard way. I've milled up 20% of the boards and batten, and have the logs for my 14' main posts. Only 12,000bf to mill yet.
Great video on what not to do and more importantly a crew I do not want with in 100 miles of my job site.
That was exhausting and was on pins and needles the whole time. So glad when it got up with no one hurt, except a mashed finger.

Yeah, NO! I'm terrified of heights so watched til my knuckles were bloody and then just let it play without me. Glad it all turned out.

That cupola is absolutely beautiful. Where did you get it from? I have a rancher house and want to have cupola on the roof.
The cupola came already assembled as part of the barn kit that I got from Sand Creek Post and Beam company. If you reach out to them tell them that you found them from the Daddykirbs video. I am not affiliated, but it would be cool for them to know how you found them.
