'Alright it's been 3 weeks but we got your lock all fixed, that'll just be $7,000'
I found that by lowering window first, removing window slides, you don't have to remove the regulator. Just raise window and tape.
You had lock clip pointed wrong and fixed it correctly- what did you do to get it to fit correctly? Looks like it was a different lock cylinder- I am having same problem
even tho I did watch you video, was informative, it's not like my 1994 gmc jimmy, back to square one. I did notice that you take your work very serious. bravo, now my search goes on looking for this for a 1994 gmc jimmy
I just did this job, I was look for info on removing the lock tumbler I did not not need to separate the regulartor from inner plate.(rivets)
If you let the window drop in track when plate is free, the plate drops and you can get your wrench to the handle bolt inside door. The lock and latch contro rods can be removed by pulling handle out from exterior side to access the rod securing clips. Door latch has to be un-bolted.
Perfect video because I need to replace my locks as well as my window regulator and track. So I can do it all at once.
I wish they would have shown how the inner rods are supposed to be placed is laced when you put the panel back on I cannot get mine to function smoothly
Cutting the rivets and removing that whole inner panel seems awfully excessive.
I'll just remove the 3 torx screws on the latch to gain a bit of play on the handle/lock end.
Same think it’s possible without removing the panel
@@anthonyr7902 It is possible on both sides. Did both.
@@JesusSaves86AB We've been trying the "no removal" technique for hours and can't get the lock cylinder to latch back into the handle properly. Going to try this removal method next. We have new lock cyls and new handles but they just won't latch -- they just push right out again.
@@anthonyr7902 if you got skinny arms! Can't bend panel out enough to get room without bending it.
Dude im not wanting to change the motor and trans just the door locks lol damnnnnn
I think it's going to be easier to weld a hasp to the outside and use a padlock LOL
Need to see this on a 93 with manual window assembly
+@MadAtMax.300Blackout We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Good video, but you hid the fact that you broke the clip. (A good time to warn viewers that the cheap plastic parts could be brittle).
+Dustin O Thanks for watching. Buy the part in this video on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
What do I do if I have screws for the speakers, I can’t figure this out
Website for the part 2001 gmc sierra 1500 says not compatible yet the title of the video says it does? weird
+Yoel Quevedo Thanks for watching! These lock cylinders will fit the previous generation before they were called just the "Sierra." These trucks are technically the "C/K" generation, so the parts in our listing are the same as what is shown in the video!
I don't understand, will the key I have fit a new lock?
OK.. so why not tell viewers at 8:22 of the video you actually broke the door handle clip !!!! You then cover it up with your thumb, but still dont tell viewers you had to replace door handle !!! When removing lock from handle that is NOT how to do it.. Stop posting videos if you cant be honest !!!
Agree. After the thumb cover, he changes the camera angle. Mistakes teach more than things going smoothly most of the time. Thanks for skipping the teachable moment.
And not one bad word amazing 😂
very nice job
Where can I find those clips that's holding the rod in place on the cylinder?
Did you find them? I need one
@@chastblind7606 Hello, did you by chance find the clips? I'm searching for them as well.
8:23 he broke the thing that holds the lock 😂
left 2 big grease marks right away with electric screw driver
Matches the rest of the Chev.
Also noticed that... Cringey
I need the metal piece that hooks into the lock rod anybody have a clue before i hit the junkyard
I just want to say you’ve got the best video the best pictures of how the door lock mechanism goes into the door handle because mine could go either way I’m gonna find a good video that showed how the door lock went in the door handle good job thanks
After watching this I think I'll just leave the punched lock in there. Someone drove a screwdriver in but failed to open the door.
Wow... seems like a ton of work just to replace a lock... dang
There's got to be an easier way I refuse to believe this is the answer to replace a door lock lol smmfh
I knew this video was going to be bad when he stains the carpet on the door panel 20 seconds in
8:21
Jesus Christ, completely unnecessary. If I were your customer, you'd be buying me a brand new door handle assembly.
That rusty piece on the door lock cylinder has a tension spring. All you had to do was press down on that rusty piece, and then pull out on the door lock cylinder while continuing to press down on that rusty piece. Absolutely no need to break the plastic of the door handle.
I can do all that without disarming the whole door
