    Took long enough for a Canada-bound 2nd gen Alphard/Vellfire to appear on this channel. These things are everywhere from BC to Manitoba, just like the previous gen. The 2nd gen in particular is basically a 3rd gen RAV4 underneath

    9:31 Thought i spotted a Vellfire with a big brake kit, with big red brembos clearly visable throught the wheels. I was blown away...until i went to an Upgarage and found red caliper covers for sale!

    In all of my trips to Japan, i must have taken dozens of photos of the Vellfire/Alphard. Such unique looking vans. Definitely on my short list of vehicles to import.

    Pretty interesting, the early Alphard's look quite skinny when I see them on the highway, this one is only 170mm less wide then a Dodge Caravan. The interior is pretty wild, Caravan\Sienna\Pacifica\Odyessy are pretty popular still in Canada, F150 crew cabs to be fair have enormous back seats, crazy amount of legroom, and then an entire pickup bed too, and 4wd is nice to have when its -30c in AB and the roads are all ice. (ground clearance nice too for heavy snow etc) Vellfire very interesting, I'll have to see the prices on those, maybe something that can be won instead of those dammed Merc SLK's.

      What’s funny is that the 1st gen was based on the Camry, just like the Sienna, while this one moved to what is basically an enlarged Corolla platform as used by the Rav4

    Apart from the dash the van looks like it was made in the late 2010s

    10:39 I'm confused but how is it an 8-seater? I just see 2 or 3 in the last row, then two middle and two front

    Toyota have another minivan that's larger than the Alphard and Vellfire, it's called the GranAce. it's physically bigger than the Alphard & Vellfire, but those vans are better equipped and have better layouts and they are also positioned at the top of Toyota's minivan lineup.

    Huh interesting. From where I live, it's the Alphard that's luxury, and Vellfire is the entry lower spec version. Not even sporty. 🤔
    It's like if you don't want the diesel of Hiace, then you'll get the Vellfire instead.

    Do these come in lhd?

    • @jesuscrust13
      @jesuscrust13 15 дней назад

      Alphards were offered in LHD starting from this generation but the Vellfire wasn’t available in LHD until the next one (2015+). I think LHD Vellfires are only sold in China but LHD Alphards are relatively widely exported. This generation was sold in the Middle East so you could probably get one of those GCC spec Land Cruiser importers to bring one in.

      The Alphard went into production in 2002. I’ve had a 2002 in Canada for 4 years now. Awesome vehicle. I have a 8 seat 3.0l V6 which is the same engine as the Lexus ES300. Super smooth driving vehicle & so comfortable to drive. Wicked kid hauler & fantastic for road trips.

    working on that engine is super annoying especially when you are doing spark plugs, coil and/or valve cover gasket
